Looks like I am officially having June babies (unless they are early). The doctor told me yesterday that he will take them on the first part of June. I hope I make it that far this time since I only made it to April with my first set of twins.

Bjones - When you say 'take them', do you mean he will induce you or schedule a c-section?

AFM - I had my first OB appt. on Dec. 15. My OB does standard blood testing @ 16-21 weeks for Down's, Cystic Fibrosis, and a few other things. I'm having them done just to be informed. She did a 'mini' u/s just to check the HBs since this was the first time she had seen me or them. Everything looks great! I go on 12/21 for my official u/s to hopefully see if they are B/B, G/G, or B/G. On the u/s from the 15th, she said she thought one of them looked like a boy, but she wasn't going to bank on that until after Monday. We discussed which hospitals to go to. I have already been on a tour of one and go for another tour in January of the one she recommends. We also talked about seeing the high risk OB. She gave me the info I needed to contact them, but said that me and the babies are doing so well right now, she won't make me go to them. We decided that we would take it on a visit by visit basis to see how we are doing. I felt much better after this appt. because she answered so many of our questions and took the time to explain everything.

Well, I'm off to get ready to go shopping. Fun, Fun :? . I am not a shopper, but DH is gone hunting this weekend and this is the only time I can get his shopping done.

I hope everyone is doing well and getting ready to eat a lot and enjoy the holidays!

Shelby - I will be having a scheduled c-section in early June. Since I had a c-section with my boys we are doing another one this time. My boys were born at 30 weeks and they are fine now, so as long as I make it to May then these babies will be at the same gestational age as my boys were.

I am kind of freaking out right now because of this transition from my RE to my OB. I am still on PIO until Christmas Eve but my OB is not as concerned about checking my levels as I would like fpr them to be. It is extremely frustrating because my RE told them to check my level 2 days after I come off the PIO but that will be a Saturday and I won't be able to get sa.e day results. I am thinking of taking the PIO until Saturday and having my blood work on Monday so I can get same day results. What do you all think?

Well I am not really in the holiday spirit right now. I started spotting this afternoon. I have not had this happen at all up until this point. I decided to go in see my doctor just to make sure everything was ok. When giving my urine sample (sorry tmi) I wiped and had heavy bleeding. Ugh...panic. I met with my doctor. We listened to the heartbeat and he checked my cervix. He has no idea why I am bleeding. He did not do an ultrasound (which I think would have been nice!) I am panicked by the amount of blood. It was not just spotting. I have not been bleeding since the appt. Scared!!! Thanks for letting me share.

So just wanted to say Merry Christmas to ya'll and Happy Holidays! Hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season and 2010 brings lots of beautiful babies!

AFM- Not much going on hence the lack of posting...next OB appt. is Dec. 31st so excited about that but we have decided to try not to find out the sex until birth...eeeek! Don't know how long that will last but we are trying:) Is anyone else thinking about doing this or am I the only crazy one around here?

Hi all,
Sancap-We are going to wait it out on finding out the sex of the baby. It will be hard to do but fun in the end.

bjones- My doctor never monitored anything after I stopped the shots. I thought that was odd but it didn't seem to be a problem.

Shelby-Glad to hear that your babies are good. Are you showing quite a bit? I feel like I look like I am 6 months along. I think I have a giant in my stomach.

I number of you commented on the early screenings and what your doctor suggested. Thank you for that. After the scare with the bleeding a few days back, I decided to change doctors. The bleeding has stopped (thank god). I actually never bleed again after I was at the doc office and had such heavy bleeding. I have no idea what happened. I was not comfortable that the doc never did an US so I called a new doctor the next day(They thought this was odd too.) The new doctor didn't have any available appt. for 2 weeks but got me in immediately after I shared what happened. The US was good....no known reason for the bleeding.

I called my old doctors office to get records sent and they put me through to the nurse. I explained that i just wasn't comfortable with some of the things that had happened up til this point. As you recall, my doctor never shared about the 1st trimester screenings. The nurse told me that he and his wife had a child who had chromosomal issues that he ended up losing. They had the test and were miserable for the next 6 months until the baby was born. Hense...he has strong opinions about the test. I appreciated the explanation but told the nurse, I still felt that he was making choices for me that he didn't have the right to make...she agreed. She also agreed with the heavy bleeding that most doctors probably would have done an US. It was interesting... and I am happy I made a change. I probably should have done it after the first appt.

I wish everyone a very Happy Holidays! Enjoy the 1st Christms with your babies!

T west - I am glad that the u/s showed that everything was fine and I think you made the right decision about changing doctors. It is interesting that the nurse has the same thoughts about what should have been done. It would have been nice if she had advocates for an u/s while you were there. And thank you for the response about the pio shots and bloodwork. Maybe I am stressing about it way too much.

twest- I'm glad to hear you and your baby are safe and the bleeding was not harmful. Regarding the screening, I definately think the Dr. should have mentioned it to you. My Dr. explained it in detail and she was basically against doing the screening unless if you received a positive result you would terminate the pregnancy. We decided not to do the screening, she said the majority of positive results are false positives (it was something ridiculous like 80%) and she had never seen a posititve result that actually ended up being born with problems. We decided that if we got a positive result we would not abort anyway so why put ourselves through that. Also, one would be able to tell in the later u/s's if there were any problems and again if you are not planning on aborting then why spend the money and time worrying about the testing? Personally I think it's just another way for them to get money out of you by playing on your fears, I just don't understand how they can even offer tests that are soooo inaccurate. My sis had the test when she had her second child and it came back positive and her daughter was born completely fine. She went through all that worrying for nothing. Anyway, glad to know you are happy with your new Dr.

Hey Ladies!

Twest - OH YES! I am showing big time! My abdomen is getting really sore (guess that's from all the stretching) and heavy! I have a maternity belt that I have to wear when I know I will be on my feet for a long time.

I go to the Dr again this afternoon for a check up. So far, all has been well except for some back pain and swelling in my ankles (this happened when I had to spend 2 days shopping for Christmas presents). I have been keeping a log of my blood pressures and they look good so far.

We had an ultrasound last week and the tech said we are having 2 boys! Woohoo! I'm very excited! I think hubby kinda wanted a girl (because he already has 2 boys), but I am perfectly happy with boys!

Hope you all had a wonderful Holiday and enjoy the coming of the New Year!

shelby - Haha, I am showing pretty bad as well, however, I would much rather look pregnant than oddly fat like I've been at a buffet since Thanksgiving, so I'm embracing it :) Congrats on the two boys!!! Our next u/s is next week, so hopefully we will find out then what we are having. I'm going in to the OB today for the blood draw for the triple screen test, but I doubt they will send me down for an u/s early. Oh well. I don't mind the waiting for another week - it's more exciting than waiting for Christmas!!! I'm also glad to hear I'm not the only one with a sore abdomen. DH got me a pregnancy pillow for Christmas and I've gotten better sleep since I've been using it. I'd recommend one if you don't have one already. PM me if you'd like to get together for lunch in the next month or so. I've been feeling pretty good the past couple of weeks and am really happy that food finally seems appealing again :) What do the boys think about getting two new brothers?? Oh, and have you felt any movement yet??? I'm still patiently waiting, but I haven't felt anything I thought for sure was babies in there!

sancap and twest - You have more will-power than me to wait to find out the gender!!! I'd never make it. Of course, watch mine not cooperate and then I will have to wait anyway :) DH thinks we will have one of each, but I don't have any feelings one way or the other, so we'll see :)

Anyway, I hope you are all doing well. I'll be checking in more often now that I am feeling better and have a lot more energy :)

Stats - The (older) boys are excited. They wanted brothers instead of sisters anyway. As far as movement goes, I have had some 'odd' feelings that could have been them moving, but not sure. The Dr. drew my blood for the triple screen. She also wanted me to go ahead and do a Glucose tolerance test. I did that this morning and I think I passed. Won't know for sure until later though. I go to the high risk Dr. on Jan. 6 just to get established. My OB is very pleased with my progress and just wants me to get to know them should I have to go back later in the pregnancy.
As for lunch, I am so game! January is looking very busy with work, tours of Labor and Delivery facilities, and doctor appts. Would the weekend or during the week be better suited for you? I'll have to look for one of those pregnancy pillows. I've always slept with a pillow between my knees so now I just pull it up a little higher to support my belly while lying on my side.

Chat with ya later! I'll PM you my e-mail.

Shelby I'm doing pretty good. I was very sick until about a week ago. I was nauseous 24 hours a day until about 11 weeks. Then I went to vomiting and being so sick in the evenings that I could not even lean forward w/o getting ill. But this week that has gotten better with that too. Now if I can only make it to midnight tonight. I usually fall asleep around 8pm! I had some sharp pains on Christmas that freaked me out, but OB says it's tendons and did not seem worried at all. But overall I am doing real good. We had told close family and friends about the baby around Thanksgiving. But I had an OB appointment on Tuesday and we made our big anouncement to the world on Wednesday. It was getting hard to hide the belly!

How have you been? I can't imagine having twins. Being PG with 1 is hard enough.

I'm going to keep checking in on your June thread, since most of you were my cycle buddies, I want to know how you all are doing.

I am so happy for all of you!

I have been reflecting this morning over the crazy year 2009 has been... One year ago today I received a call from the Dr. informing us that my DH's sperm analysis came back with zero sperm. (Great timing on New Years Eve Doc!) But now I get to end the year with a freezer full of my DH's sperm and two beautiful babies on the way! I am soo thankful that we live in a time where it's possible to have babies even with challenges in the way. The stories on this website and the wonderful people, who will no doubt make the best parents, are truly inspiring and reminds me how blessed we all are.

What a wonderful year 2010 will be for all of us! In 6 months we will all have our arms full of baby love!
Many blessings to everyone for a happy and healthy 2010!!
