Kala Try as hard as you can to stay calm. Inlaws are a pain the patooty. Don't leave for long, but maybe try to get out on you own some. Go out with friends, shop, whatever. Even a little time away can help regain the sanity. And don't worry...we're all nuts with the hormones.

Bubbles That lady needs to take a class in social skills. I would go the other direction and say you have been really stressed lately because you have a very sick relative who may no make it till the new year and have turned to eating a lot lately to ease the pain. Because of all that extra eating, you must be putting on a few pounds. Then burst into tears because on top of all the other stressful things in your life, now she thinks you are fat! That will shut her up.

Just checking in on you July Mommies to see if everyone survived the Holiday and getting ready for the next, (New Years)?

We got some snow and cold temps here in the midwest and I am lucky enough to have the week before and the week after Christmas off, so I am just staying warm inside. Have a touch of cabin fever so need to try to get out and find some thing to do for a bit.

Did have an appointment yesterday, our first with the high risk OBGYN. He seemed to be OK with my Blood Sugar monitoring considering the holidays...Still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't and I have lost 5 lbs in the past two weeks trying.

Still waiting on blood results from the first trimester screening but the scan itself went well.

How is everyone else doing? I think I am 13 weeks today so did I make it through the first trimester or do I have to get through this week to be considered in the 2nd trimester?

Julie, I did a lot of research and it looks like 14 weeks mark the beginning of the 2nd trimester. But I did breath a sigh of relief when I reached the 12 week mark!

Today is my first day by myself. Finally all the inlaws went skiing with DH so I have some peace and quiet. Things are better. Im not flipping out as much, but I still feel a lot of stress. I'm so tired of the constant comments from them. I feel like Im being judged 24/7. Only 6 more days til they leave!

Anyone elses DH being a pain? Mine is getting all upset b/c Im using being pregnant as a excuse for everything. But it is pretty much the reason for anything I feel or do. He just doesnt understand.

Happy New Year!!! Enjoy your mocktails!!!

Hello and question

Post by morul »

Hello,
I am new to the forum but have been reading messages here today. I am also due in July - July 5th. I was hoping one of you ladies would be able to help answer my question - is anybody else having pelvic pressure kind of pain through the day. I have been having the pressure kind of pain all day today. My OB/GYN has not been able to see me before they close for the holidays! :(

Morul-Welcome!! So glad to have you!! Cramping, stretching, pressure as well as sharp pains that come and go are all completely normal. You are at the point where baby and uterus is growing so you are having what they call "growing pains". I have had what feels like menstral cramps and pressure all day today. It just hasnt let up. I just keep telling baby to keep on growing!

If the cramping get severe an doesnt subside and there is red blood, call the OB or go to the ER.

Hi h

Post by morul »

Thanks for adding me to the list!! And for telling me your experiences. Its been really hard for me to not be paranoid. I have had two miscarraiges from natural pregnancies but that was 2-3 years ago and we have not been able to get pregnant since then. Had 3 IUIs with no success and finally got pregnant with IVF - thank God!

I have not had any red bleeding. The pain is quite intense but not too severe. I am just concerned its been going all day. I really really appreciate your reply and I am looking forward to interacting with all you ladies due around the same time!! My name is Mona. My betas were 68 and then 261 2 days later.

Morul...welcome to the thread. I am due July 4th! So we are right on track together.

Man, I wish I would have read this a few days ago. On Christmas, about a half hour before all my guest were due to arrive, I had some sever sharp pains all along my lower belly. I want and laid in bed in bad pain for about a half hour. I had the phone in my hand ready to call the doc, on Christmas, I might add. But DH said to hold out a little while. He had gotten me "What to Expect when you are Expecting" so I looked it up and it sounded normal. Sure enough all stopped and has been better since then. Still a little tig here and there. I had appointment with the OB yesturday and she totally brushed it off. It is a tendon pulling. So good thing I didn't call on Christmas. Anyone with sharp pains don't worry. Cramping that does not go away for a long time or heavy bleeding is all she worries about.

Morul: Try not to worry...I have had similar cramping, but at times I have attributed mine to gas. With the surge of hormones my digestion has been out of whack. My girlfriend just had a baby and she assured me that the cramping was normal as she had experienced the same thing through her first trimester "growing pains". Just watch for bleeding or severe cramps.

???? for everyone: I had an ultrasound on Monday @ 10 weeks and the tech told me that I have a retroverted uterus (tilted uterus). She acted like it was no big deal. We don't get to see the doctor until next week. Anyone know what this is or if the condition poses any risks to the baby?

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all!

Thanks so much for re-assuring me, lisa and Courtney. Its so much better to hear from you ladies than my OB's nurse. I am glad you started feeling better soon, Lisa. Wow, our due dates are almost the same - thats so cool. And you are due July 4th - independance day baby, huh?

Courtney, I dont know what a retroverted uterus is. Hope this is really not a big deal, like the tech says. I know how easy it is to worry about things in this whole process - Good luck.

My cramps and pain lasted almost the whole day so I ended up going to the ER especially since I had some brown discharge that morning too. They did all the tests there and we got to see the baby moving around so that put us at ease a little. I have to figure out how to do a signature soon!

Hi fkm7783,
I also have a retroverted or titled uterus. When I originally found this out a couple of years ago when we started the 1st round of IVF I also had many many questions. My Dr./RN told me it is very common to have this type of a uterus, it just means it tilts to the back a bit I think and does not cause any difficulty getting pregnant or affect a pregnancy. I did read that poeple w/ a tilted uterus tend to show a bit later in pregnancy and thought it was just an old wifes tale, but actually my RN told me it seems to be true. Oh and I also read a few places that tilted uterus can mean less time in labor...no idea if there is any fact to that. Congrats on your pregnancy!

I was told I had a tilted uterus too when I had hysterosonogram (sp?). The doc said it was part of why I had bad cramps. But no worries, all us tilited gals will be just fine.
I have by screening for disabilities on Friday. No u/s : ( But I hope everything turns out ok, DH and I are kind of nervous.
