September 2010 Babies

Post by BRMommy2B »

Hello! I just got my beta back this morning (10dp5dt), and it was 425! Following an unsuccessful IVF #1 in Oct/Nov, we transferred our one frozen embryo on December 16. We found out on Christmas Eve (via POAS) that we are pregnant! It was confirmed this morning at my Beta #1. Beta #2 is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8:15 CST.

Hope some other September Mommies join me soon! According to my calculations, my due date will be September 3, 2010.
Me: 29
DH: 32, Male Factor
4 Failed IUI
IVF #1 - BFN
FET #1 - BFP!!! DD born Sept 2010
IVF #2 - Chemical
Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?

Julia:

Yay and welcome! There's actually an FET calculator on this site! Look on the bottom left, you'll find a link for "Pregnancy Calculator". You'll check the last box, which says "Date of Replacing Blastocyst Embryos." Then put your transfer date in and it will tell you your due date! So excited to have the two of us on the board now! Hopefully Hazel will be joining us soon as well!

Hey ladies, I just came across this article and found it very interesting, and reassuring since I'm feeling virtually no symptoms! I know I should feel blessed to not be sleeping by the toilet, but you know how it goes. Happy Reading!

Yippee, I can finally come over to this side of the boards!! DH and I did a home test this morning and it was positive!!!!! Third time lucky! I don't think the news has sunk in yet, we are excited but also being cautious - we don't get any betas from our clinic in the UK, so we won't find out whether the HCG is at the right level and if it will progess as it should. We were told to test on day 18 (tomorrow) and again at day 25, and then assuming both are positive to call up to book in for an u/s. So now we start another 2ww (or more like a 2-3ww) until our 7 week u/s. We're very happy but know it's still early days.

I'm so looking forward to sharing the next 8 months with you ladies and to 2010 bringing us all healthy, happy babies,

Sept Delivery?

Post by Gamergirl_98 »

Hi all.

My name is CK and I had my egg transfer on Dec. 22. I had two eggs transferred, one at 5 day blast the second a 5 day almost full blast. I took a home pregnancy test 3 days after. and of course it was negative. I took a another one on the 28th of dec and it was positive. I of course took two more in as many days to "make sure" that it was still positive. They were. My blood work to check my levels fell on Dec. 31 so I am waiting to see what those say. I should get a call tomorrow.

Anyway if my calculations are right I should be due around Sept. 9. This is my first cycle of IVF and they did ICSI on me. I don't seem to know all the terms that you guys do. My DH and I are hoping for twins. We have an 11yrs old son who is also looking forward to being a big brother.

Any advice you ladies can give me would be much appreciated!

BRMommy2B - interesting article about symptoms! So far I'm just feeling a bit of cramping on and off and that's about it, other than getting dizzy a lot of the time when I stand up. I'm attributing the latter to a lot of blood flow going to the uterus. Are you still feeling not a lot? I know what you mean about how you should feel blessed that you're not having to sleep by the toilet, I sort of think I would feel more 'pregnant' if I had more symptoms! But from the article you posted, it sounds as if all the symptoms will kick in soon enough at around the 6-8 week mark, so I guess we should enjoy feeling m/s free for now!

julia_78 - how are you feeling? Any symptoms?

wishfull and CT_Michele - haha, good to see you both!

Gamergirl/CK - welcome and congratulations on your positive HPT's! Hope you get the call with your beta number soon, the wait must be driving you crazy? How come you had your blood taken on 31st December but have to wait 2-3 days for the results? I know all the abbreviations we use are confusing at first, if you look under the General Forum there's a topic there which has a long list of them which will help. But the most used are DH = dear husband, HPT = home pregnancy test, BFP = big fat positive! (and it's less well liked cousin, BFN = big fat negative), POAS = peeing on a stick.

AFM, just to add to the due date information, according to the calculator on this site, I'm now 4 weeks 4 days pregnant and my due date is 7th September. Yippee!!

happy new year, moms to be!! looking forward to sharing a very pregnant year 2010 with you!

hazel - yay, you are pregnant!!! i don't have too many symptoms yet either. i am driving myself CRAZY trying to recognize them. i do feel the twinges/ pulling in the abdomen too which i assume to be my uterus expanding? i have no sore boobs at all. i felt sharp pain in my abdomen yesterday (a bit like post ER pain but less accute), i googled it & the search results included "ectopic pregnancy", so i closed the computer really quick & worked really hard at not worrying about it. the pain is gone now (i bet it was just gas, stupid me). i don't know why i want symptoms so bad -- i guess once morning sickness kicks in i'll look back & wonder why on earth i was so eager to get symptoms! but it would make the pregnancy feel more tangible, i still can't believe it right now, it's a bit unreal... but we're PREGNANT, yay!!!

Gamergirl/CK - welcome to the board, and congrats for your BFP!!! there is a "sticky" thread on the general board with a list of acronyms we use around here, it's very handy (i had such a hard time figuring it out at first!). i look forward to sharing this forum with you, and you will probably be the one with tips for us given that you have a son (this is my first pregnancy so i have no clue what i am getting into!!)

afm - have been taking my extra doses of progesterone religiously, hope that does the trick. my nurse had said if that was not sufficient, they would also ask me to take a prometrium in the morning, and i hope i don't have to do that b/c it makes me so sleepy i don't think i could function at work with it. my b/w is mon, and i think i may try to convince the RE to also do an u/s too as a bonus (i read somewhere that once the beta is over 1,000 you can see sacs, and if i did the math right we should be over 1,000 on mon). can't wait to see whether it's one or two (we had put 2 embryos in...). happy new year everyone!

Hazel,

How come you had your blood taken on 31st December but have to wait 2-3 days for the results?

My 2ww was over on the 31st and my Doctors office closed at noon that day and will remain closed till the 4th because of the holiday. They didn't even stay closed this long for Christmas! It really sucks!! You can be assured that I will be the first phone call they receive Monday morning.

I have a question for you ladies if you could answer. My DH has been home for Christmas break, he is in the US Army. He is has been giving me my progesterone shots but he will be going back on the 4th of Jan. I have no one else to help me with these shots. So I was wondering if any of you had been on the suppository? Or even if I could take a suppository this early. I will be asking my Doctor about it this Monday but wanted tou get you guys opinion also. I tried to give myself the shot but that was a no go. My muscle was stretched and the angle was all wrong. Do any of y'all take the shot in a different location than the hip? The nurse said it was very important that I ALWAYS inject the progesterone into my hip. I read on here someplace that someone was injecting into their thigh. Is that an option?

Thanks,
CK

GamerGirl: Welcome, and congrats on your BFP! So sorry your hubby has to go away, but I guess the timing worked out well that he was here with you to celebrate!

I have never done the PIO injections, always been on the progesterone suppositories, Endometrin. They are not pleasant (they leak constantly bc I'm taking them 3X/day), but I'm sure they're much better than sticking yourself! My progesterone levels on them have always been excellent. I would definitely recommend asking for a switch!

Hazel: Every now and then I get a tiny bit of nausea, but it is very short lived. My biggest complaint is the AF-like cramping, and spotting every 2 or 3 days. It's enough to make me crazy, as I feel like at any minute I could start my period. My U/S is Friday, 1/8, which is 6 days away, and I really wish it would just get here. I have never been more thankful in my life than I am now, but to be honest I'd prefer to go to sleep now and wake up Friday, or maybe 8 months from now on my delivery date. I don't know how DH and I will make it through the stress! We are both overanalyzing and worrying over every little thing. We bought What to Expect When You're Expecting today, and I've gotten a good ways through it.

Julia: I really hope the progesterone gets to where it needs to be! About the internet searching; it is a blessing and a curse. I was trying to figure out if there was a down side to my high betas, and it said it could be a molar pregnancy (in which there is no baby), and like you I just closed out the window. I keep reading that at this point, there is basically nothing you can do to prevent or cause a miscarriage (other than blunt force and drugs, etc.), so the worrying won't help at all, but since when did that cause any parent from worrying?

AFM, we're trying to come up with baby names. I want something that is different without being strange. If you have any ideas I'd love to hear them! Some names my friends have used lately that I like and are unusual (but of course I can't use them): Marielle, Aliza, Kamryn

Boys are even harder! My husband's middle name (and back for like 5 generations, is Severin, so we probably will have to use that as a middle name. My favorite boy name is Hayden, but I don't think it goes well together "Hayden Severin", too many "en"s at the end! Have a good night everyone!

Hey girls, just wanted to let you all know that we had a scare this weekend as well. Cramps on Saturday night, and then bleeding on Sunday. I did have some very light bleeding before, but this needed a liner. It was pink/brown in color, and pretty much lasted all day Sunday. I know this may be TMI, but if someone else experiences this I want them to be able to compare what they're experiencing, because it would have been helpful to me.

Went in today to get checked out, and my cervix is completely closed and not leaking blood. Did an ultrasound, and everything is looking just right (no heartbeat yet, though), and I'll go back on Friday for my regularly scheduled visit. I'm so glad everything is OK, but still feeling very overwhelmed by it all. Hope everything is going well for you all.

By the way, there's just one little bean in there!
