Just call me 'lucky Phil' :( .

So here we go:

9 eggs
7 ICSI'd
1 egg didn't survive icsi
1 egg grew abnormally, no good.
3 stopped growing after 2 cells

So that left us with 2 grade 3 embies.

My FS (who is totally against tx'ing 2) said that since they're grade 3's and may not survive freezing/thawing, and we really want a pg, let's tx the both of them.

She tried to comfort me by adding that she's seen many pg's result from grade 3's but at the same time was baffled and disappointed with the result.

I had a bt for my prog levels. So they'll call me later with that.

My pg BT is on 30/12/09/.

My poor cuz is in shock. She said "now I know what it feels like to be a reject!" (That's what I call myself  .)

So I'm just left feeling a little bleerrr after all that.

Has anyone heard of many sucess stories with grade 3 embryo's?

Clemo--That sucks  But it isn't over yet, I have read people getting pregnant on a Grade 3 so it is possible--PMA, PMA. Easier said than done I know. When is your Beta?

Sabi--Sorry to hear about bedrest that sucks! I hope I won't have to go on that but with twins you never know. Keep gestating:-)

Happy Holidays to everyone!!!

Clemo, That does suck and I am sure you will be stressed until you can beta. There is another sites that I am on that I have read of several girls being successful with embies that did not look the best. We all have our fingers crossed for you.

Sabi, Sorry to hear you are on bedrest. How far along are you now? Will you be on bedrest until delivery or closer to term?

Hope everyone else is well.

AFM, things are going well right now. I am finally over half way, there are several people that don't know I'm pregnant still. We have been slowly telling people and they all seem very surprised and tell me they couldn't tell. I have gained 10 pounds and feel like I look huge. Heartburn is my constant companion! We are not going to find out if it is a boy or girl. It is hard to shop for as most things seem to be clearly boy or girl.

Hi Poohgirl and Stef - Glad to hear you're going along well.

Stef - When I'm finally pg, I won't be finding out the sex either. I think that's the best suprize!

I'm feeling a bit better today. I did some research and have found a few good stories about grade 3 embies. I mean, the 2 I have on board are both day 2 and 4 cells, so that's perfect for day 2. It's just that they don't "look" perfect.
So I'm feeling a bit more positive about things today. And hoping like crazy that both embies stick and we have healthy twins and we don't have to worry about ttc every again!

Wouldn't that be nice!

My BETA is 30/12/09.

Sabi, sorry to hear about the hospital stay ... are you out now and at home? I hope you have a restful holiday.

Clemo, sorry to hear you didn't get more eggs but I'm glad to see you are keeping a PMA! I'm thinking of you and sending sticky baby dust your way! Stick embies, stick!

Poohgirl, it sounds like you are doing well ... good to hear!

Stef, I'm with you on indigestion, but very jealous of your weight gain. I had an appointment today and I've gained 22 pounds!

I did have an appointment today, and at 22 weeks the doctor says everything is looking good. I'm glad about that. He's scheduled me for my glucose test and another radiology appointment for the first week in January. I guess I have two more radiology appointments as they want to check the babies measurements and make sure they are both growing at the same rate. He again told me if I'm not already on bedrest I'll be put on bedrest in my 28th week to prevent premature labor. If I continue having cramps/contractions then he'll put me on bedrest earlier. I have winter holiday for two weeks starting Saturday, so I'll see him the first week I go back and see if I continue working.

Hope everyone else is doing well!!!

Hi Everyone

Clemo, hope you are hanging in there - keep up the PMA - very hard I know. Fingers crossed for you.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

AFM, start next cycle at next AF (should be Sunday), so will be off to Prague mid January, so I hope this snowy/icy weather we are having here in the UK stops as otherwise not sure if we will get out of the country!

Wishing everyone a very merry christmas.

Egg Heads...

Post by hrdtqt »

Hi Clemo:
I only had two emby's to transfer and it was the most unlikely IVF to succeed but the twins are now two:-) Hang in there and think positive thoughts. Wishing everyone out there who is going through this stressful but most rewarding journey, a very Merry Christmas...

doing good thanks sabi - 32 weeks tomorrow and still going strong - well apart from struggling to find a comfy position to sleep in, idegestion and needing to wee all the time

Got scan this afternoon so hopefully then they will decided if am having c section - am pretty sure it will be as baby one is right up virtually under my ribs and has been settled there since 12 week scan - both are transverse but with heads at opposite sides of my body with no room for them to move now I think

Can't believe how quickly the pregnancy has passed - just want to make it to at least 34 weeks as am told then less chance they will need speacial care. Blood pressure low and gestational diabetes is been controlled by diet - even managing a cake a day !!!!!!!

Hope everyone else is doing good xx

Clemo - we need news !

Pauline - hopefully you will get your dates really soon - all crossed 2010 is your year xx

Happy new year everyone xx

Happy New Year!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Clemo, waiting to hear from you ... fingers crossed.

Pauline, this is your month ... best of luck to you and keep us updated when you get the dates.

Carolyn, sounds like you are doing well ... aside from the sleeping, indigestion, and constant restroom breaks. I hear you on all 3, especially the indigestion! Hang in there and I'm sure you'll make it to 34 weeks!

It has been somewhat quiet on this board but I think everyone, like myself was just busy with the holidays and family.

AFM, my brother's baby was born on Christmas, actually they had to do an emergency C-section. SIL is RH - and it turns out her blood got mixed with his and long story short, his body was starving for oxygen. They had to fly him to Stanford Medical Center and do 3 blood transfusions in the first 24 hours but a week later he is doing much better and we are all relieved. I have my next appointment tomorrow along with the glucose test. At my last appointment the doctor said we'd discuss when I go on bed rest at this appointment. He feels I'm working too many hours and doesn't want to jeopardize anything. I agree, especially after what my brother's little one has gone through!
