Dillysgirl-What a nice reminder of how lucky we all are! I went to bed last night saying to my husband how wonderful 2009 has been. It is hard to believe that 2010 has even more blessings in store!

Shelby-COngrats on the boys!! That is so exciting. I started shopping around for cribs and bedding. It is going to be so hard not finding out whether we are having a boy or a girl when it comes to decorating. EVERYTHING is so darn cute!

Sancap-Hope your doctors appt went well!

Lisa-Glad you are starting to feel better!=)

Statsgoddess-Can't wait to hear if you are having little boys or girls! Not to much longer! I have one of those pregnancy pillows but i'm having a terrible time sleeping. I am trying to stay off my back. I'm usually a very sound sleepier but sleeping on my side is killing me...im up all night long. My nurse recommend buying that "eggshell" cushy stuff you put over your mattress. She said to cut it/fold it into a wege and put in under the sheet. I am hoping this will help. If anyone else has any ideas...I would love them.

AFM-One of my best friends just had her first baby at 39, 2 days before Christmas. She is beautiful!! It was so nice to go spend some time with the new mom and baby. It got me very excited (and nervous) about my own little bundle on the way.
I am going to enjoy my last few days of vacation before heading back to school on Monday. I hope everyone has an INCREDIBLE 2010!

Lisa - Girl, I feel ya! N/V was so bad for me for about 3-4 weeks, but the good news is (and I hope this happens for you, too) that mine eased up. I still have the occasional odor that gets to me, but overall I am back to normal as that goes. And I'm ready to go to bed @ 8-9pm every night, too! DH is a night owl so I have compromised. I stay up later if he lets me nap during the day. As for the sharp pains, had them AND still get them from time to time. Told OB and she said the same thing yours did. Right now I'm just having to deal with very bad back, hip, and tailbone pain. From the research I've done, progesterone causes that @ this point in pregnancy. It softens the bones and makes them sore. I had an episode today where I almost lost my footing with my right leg. DH was beside me and caught me, but he is so worried that is going to happen when he is not around. Needless to say, I am VERY cautious when going up and down steps. I hang on to the railings with my life because I never know when it's going to happen.
I am so glad you are popping over! And so excited that things are going well for you! It seemed as if we would never get here, but with patience and persistance comes great things.

Dillysgirl - I love your positive outlook on things. I am looking forward to many happy days for all of us in 2010! Goodness knows after June gets here, we will have many sleepless nights! But it's all for a great cause!

T west - thank you! DH and I have been shopping around, also. We found this wonderful little store in the city that has hundreds of choices of everything! It's so hard! I have the utmost respest for you not finding out what you are having. That's like to ultimate surprise! (other than our first HPT or beta results!)

Well, I was a good Southern girl and just finished my collard greens and blackeyed peas for the new year. Time to veg out on the couch and watch some football with the hubby. Night all!

Hey Everyone! Happy New Year!!

Dillysgirl- Great post regarding 2009! Although my reflections of 2009 are not so great, the one positive thing that came from it was getting pregnant. Other than that, for me and pretty much everyone else I know, we are so extremely happy 2009 is behind us and we are looking forward to a better 2010.

lisa10- Sorry to hear about your horrible m/s but glad to hear you are starting to feel better! I've been checking the July thread too, I wish we just had a June/July thread:( I miss my other cycle buddies:(

twest- One of my good friends had a baby 3 mos. ago and she was in town for the holidays so we went to lunch. I've alsways been happy for my pregger/mommy friends but there was this twinge of pain that was there before that is not there now. It feels good to be truely happy for them without feeling sorry for yourself. Hope you had a wonderful vacation!

shelbyrn0214- Sorry to hear about your back pains and such. I had a pain in my lower back 2x last week...I wonder if it had to do with the prog. you were talking about. It didn't last long but was certainly uncomfortable. Please be careful, should be get the bubble wrap back out?
Oh, also I am due June 20th (Father's Day!) which I think is the only thing that needs to be updated on the board for me. Thanks again for keeping track of all of us, you're the BEST!

statsgoddess- I think if I were having twins, I would definately want to know the sex then. I would want to make things as easy as possible but since we are just having one, I think it's easier to wait. I think I've felt movement a couple of times. Mostly when I am laying down at night watching TV or early in the morning just laying there before I get out of bed. I felt it at work once which was surprising. I think you'll know when you feel it. I don't think it feels like anything else I've felt before. Maybe a little like gas but different, It's really hard to explain. Gald to hear you are finally feeling better and have more energy too!

AFM-Isn't it funny the highs and lows we all go through. Everytime I talk to someone about being pregnant I say"yes, we are very blessed and very lucky" then I think... I can't believe I just said that...I had to go through so much to get here, stuff that most women don't have to go through and I'm in debt up to my ears because of it...but we all know that it is ALL worth it. I AM very lucky and blessed to be pregnant. I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire 30 years of living. Yesterday I was driving home from work in a state of euphoria for no good reason except that I am so happy to be pregnant and so far have a healty baby on the way. Even with everything we went through, I still feel like the luckiest person on earth! I think that's just funny

So we had our u/s Thurs. Dec. 31st and everything looks good! They checked the spine, brain, and all the little organs they could see and everything looked normal which was very satisfying. I've only gained 1 lb so far but Dr. said that's fine. I'm not really showing much at all yet but the baby is only 4 oz so I guess that makes sense:) Next u/s is Jan. 28th so we are definately looking forward to seeing him/her again soon:)

Talk to ya'll later!

A tip for you girls from a soon to be 3rd time mom. I saw some of you talking about buying bedding for the crib. Bedding is very expensive and very cute. Here's the thing. You should not use bumpers, ever. They do sell mesh bumpers, but not the padded kind that come with the sets. The baby can easily get it's face pushed up in to it. Once they get old enough to not worry about that, they stand on it and it props them higher on the rail to possible climb or fall out. Again not good. I have had a leg or arm get stuck before, but nothing as serious as not breathing. The mesh will keep that from occuring too. We had the whole bumper thing with baby #1 and after a few months took it out. Also you should not have anything in the crib but a sheet and baby. Buy sleep sacs for blankets. Baby can get tied up in a regualr blanket and it won't stay on them as they move around anyway. Sleep sacs are fabulous!!!

You can get the cute comforter, but only to hang on the wall for decor.

So my advice is skip the bedding sets. I know they are so cute and set the room theme, and even DH and I have been tempted this time with a boy on the way. But all you will or should use is the sheet.

Just my 2 cents. (Which you know I always love to throw in there!)

So glad to see the reflections on the past year. It is crazy how far we have all come and where we will be next New Years.

Stats Congrats on the boy and girl. How fun you get one of each!

shelbyrn0214- I got an e-mail from the producer in Dec. saying they pushed it back to Mid to late March. I'll be sure to let everyone know the date when I get it. It's going to be on the WE channel (Women's Entertainment).

I read an article in the NYTimes entertainment a few days back about J-Lo's pregnancy and such...she said she would NEVER do IVF because of her religious beliefs blah blah blah. It pissed me off so much   . Just made me even more excited for the show to be aired. People can be so idiotic

Lisa10- Thanks for the bedding tip! I would have never known that and I probably would have gone out and bought all that stuff.

Hope everyone is doing well!!

Sancap - Well that stinks about the show being delayed! Oh well! You'll have to give us some clues and let us know how we can identify who you are. will they use your name in the show? That will help.

Lisa - thanks again for the info about the bedding. You never can be too careful.

Hi all-
Well this is just a quick post because I have to get back to teaching. It took me 5 minutes to log in because I could not remember my log in. HELLO PREGNANCY BRAIN!!

Anyway, I didn't know anything about the show. It sounds like you are in it Sancap? How did that all come about.
Sounds very interesting. Can't wait to hear more.

Thank you to Lisa about the bedding. I ended up buying some on EBAY. It is adorable and was so much cheaper than in the stores.=)

Hope everyone is doing GREAT! Theresa

Hello All, I have been mia for a long time. We are moving to Switzerland and are currently in Germany visiting my parents, family etc. It is exhausting but nice to see everyone again. They are so excited about their grandchild. We will have a baby boy :-) and already bought some cute cute clothing. with the bigger stuff I have to wait at least another month until we are in Switzerland.
For the U/S we had our anatomy scan last week and it is amazing what you can see, the heart in all its details and the bloodstream etc. They had an amazing up to date U/S.
I also went to one of the Ultrasound services a nurse recommended. You go there and get an U/S for $20 or a 3D/4D for $75, no medical advice though but you can bring your whole family (if you want). That's how we found out we will have a boy, I couldn't wait so we went there and they do gender detection starting week 16/17.

I hope everyone is doing well and feeling as great as I do (after some awful 3.5 month of morning sickness :-)
