NEW & NERVOUS.2nd attempt at FET

Post by andbabymakes3 »

Hi Ladies, I’m new to the boards and I was looking for support, your experiences and to gain incite to this crazy journey were all taking. My first FET was unsuccessful. I've been going through this for so long it seems that I was apprehensive about trying again right away. My DH and I have been at this since 8/07 and under medical supervision since 1/09. After the FET failed, I thought we’d give it a go on our own for a couple months…that was until I called the office to tell them my period started and the IVF coordinator told me the Dr said I was good to start back on BCP this week so to be included in this months cycle. It was like a bell went off in my head saying WERE BACK IN BUSINESS. I have an appt on the 12th to discuss what may have went wrong with the first transfer and if we should use the other 3 frozen we still have or start with fresh ones. I am so nervous and excited and unsure of what to do. I don’t want to go through disappointment again. I truly read some of your stories and just cry and wonder where you get your strength from.

andbabymakes3 - Love the name !!!!!! It can be a very frustrating, and emotionally draining doin IVF. So, you came to the right place. I could NEVER of came this far without the support of all the girls here. DH is understanding about IVF but he isn't the one getting stuck with all the needles. I'm the one feeling like a lab rat    I LOVED doin my FET wish I had more frosties plus I was preggo but miscarried  I'm awaiting on my AF so we can start another fresh cycle, which I hate  Af is late but I guess the miscarriage messed my cycle all up. I already have a little DD and she is awesome. I would love to give her some siblings. I was very lucky to have her had 2 tubal pregnancies before her, she is my sunshine :D :D I would like a couple of more kids, but see what happens. It is amazing with the women on this board and how we do keep on going. The more tries better success rate, it has to go in our favor eventually, right ????

I started fertility treatments in May of 2007. We went through 7 failed IUI's and also the starting, stopping, trying on our own roller coaster. We did a fresh cycle this past August after we decided to bite the bullet and go for IVF. It resulted in a chemical pregnancy. That was a hard roller coaster ride, but we stuck to our plan to do a FET if that failed. We did our first FET in October and I am now 14 weeks pregnant.

It is a long and emotional ride. Everyone here on this site are very supportive and will help carry you through. I recommend joining a cycling group for the month you are cycling in. Who knows maybe in a month or so you will be joining the pregnant after treatment groups. Just keep up your hopes and keep pusing along. Your time will come.

You have definitely come to the right place for support and to keep a positive attitude through the roller coaster of a journey known as IVF! As you can see in my signature, I went through many cycles before a positive result but now am very pregnant! It can be very discouraging and nerve racking, but it really is worth it all. You never really know when it'll be your turn to post a BFP. I had really kind of given up hope that it would ever happen for me.

As far as FETs - I would use all those frosties before trying another fresh cycle. FETs are so much easier on your body. I'm sure with the guidence of your doctor and talk it over with your DH...you will do the right thing for you...and be pregnant in no time! :)
