Well there were just small questions like how long the ER usually takes? I'm a little afraid of going under for it. How soon will I be allowed to work out/ swim after ET? How much pain is there when I wake up from ER? Everyday something new pops in my head and I wont need to go back to the clinic till March 2nd.
great questions! see...i guess i'm so far removed b/c we don't start until march, that i don't even think of these things!
i've been reading books and learning on the websites, but every piece of information that i get seems to be different from the one before it. we were assigned a FABULOUS nurse who i email whenever i have a question and she is usually great at responding. my RE is in a large practice, so i'd rather bug her than him.
keep me posted when you get your answers...i'm always excited for new info!
hope- I'm just crashing to see if your ticker is up and it is! Great job!
I noticed you had some questions, and I can answer a few of them from my own experience and what I remember.
The ER only takes like 15 minutes and they knock you out and wake you up right after. I remember being fine for a few minutes and then really uncomfortable for about 15-30 minutes until the tylenol and other pain meds kicked in. After that, I had cramping for a few days, but nothing unmanageable. I believe they said no swimming or bathing for two weeks after ER, so to be safe, i'd go two weeks after ET. I think it's mostly because of infection risks because they use a needle through your vaginal wall to get the eggs out. I think working out was the same, not for 2 weeks.
Each clinic is different, so that's probably why you're getting different responses, but my theory is always to err on the side of caution since we go through so much emotionally and money-wise. My clinic didn't recommend taking three days off for bedrest after ET, but I decided on my own to do it because I wanted to make sure I wasn't jostling them around in there before they got a chance to implant!
Wow I owe thanks all around to you. I am so happy my ticker is finally working I was getting frustrated with it. And thank you for answering my questions. I haven't heard back from my Dr. office yet and they were suppose to call be on Wed. to let me know if they were calling in a Provera RX or BCP for me to start or if I need one more U/S. I left a message for them late Thurs and earlier today and they still haven't gotten back to me. I know they are busy, but I don't want to mess anything up with my cycle so a phone call to let me know what is going on would be nice. Ok I'm done ranting. Thanks again for your help.
Sorry I have been MIA lately. My DH and I are getting ready to go to Las Vegas for his 30th birthday! Just wanted to let you all know that AF still didnt come over weekend so they had me start Provera yesterday. She better not come while we are gone.
Anyway, I wanted to check to see if you all have heard anything on your cycles or where everyone is standing right now. Cant wait to hear back and catch up with all of you!
hi everyone -
hopeforbabies - have a great time in Vegas, we went last year & had a great time! We stayed at TI (formerly Treasure Island as everyone kept telling us!) but we enjoyed ourselves, def. check out the Wynn, it's SO nice/new!
I agree with whoever said every clinic is different which is why you're getting different answers...I was Ok after my ER but I got up too fast so when they wheeled me out in a wheel chair I said "I think I'm going to pass out" and then I did oops...but after that I was ok and had some cramping and was so tired but everything was Ok. I wouldn't swim anytime soon after it though...
Just got my consult scheduled for my FET coming up sometime in the next few months - couldn't get in until Feb. 15th but that's ok...I'm not in a huge rush.
Hope everyone has a great week!
me - 30 / 2009 - both tubes removed / DH - 31, perfect
First IVF - Sept '09 - BFN
First FET - May '10 - BFN
Second FET - Sept '10 - BFN
Second IVF Attempt - August '11 - BFN
Third FET - Oct '11 - expanded embryo - BFP (Blake born 7.5.12)
Thank you for telling me about the Wynn. I heard it was pretty nice but most of the hotels are. I will definately check it out. I'm glad to hear you have your consult scheduled for your FET. How many frosties do you have saved? Sorry to hear you passed out after ER how scary that must have been. Although I am nervous about the ER I am also very excited and cant wait. How many will you transfer? My DH and I are planning to transfer 2 if everything goes as planned. I will check back when I get back from Vegas on the 22nd. Have a lovely weekend!
I have 5 frosties waiting for me (doctor says a few are pretty good but a couple aren't too good) - they'll thaw the best 2 and put those in this next time around (hopefully, fingers crossed!).
I had 2 put in for my fresh cycle as well - I had 11 total but some of them didn't make it and they left 6 I think out to pick the best 2 to try for the fresh cycle.
The ER won't be bad at all (you won't remember it since they knock you out) - my doctor let me listen to whatever music I wanted to so I brought a mixed tape (with mostly country music on it!) and when it started playing everyone started laughing and most liked the music but the doctor was like "maybe I should start picking out the music!" It at least made me relax and just drift off into la-la land! Just don't get up before you're ready - they put me in the recovery room with a bunch of people that had just had colonoscopy's done and it was awful hearing all the noises from those people - I felt out of place but it made my husband laugh & it's a funny story to tell!
All the best as you go through your fresh cycle - I know it'll work for you guys (at least I hope it will!) I'll be saying a little prayer for you!!! I hope we both have good news to share with each other this year!

DH and I returned home from Vegas on Friday. We had a wonderful trip even though it rained the whole time we were there. We still managed to visit many of the hotels, including the Wynn which was beautiful. We saw a few shows one of which was the Blue Man Group. It was really funny and I would recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Vegas this year.
I was lucky enough to not have AF come to visit until Saturday. I called me RE yesterday and they will have me start me BCP on Thursday (28th) until March 6th. I will start me Lupron injections on March 2nd and my stim. drugs on March 12th.

Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I will keep my fingers crossed that your 2 frosties thaw perfectly and will pray that we are both blessed this cycle. Keep me posted on how your consult goes on the 15th.

Hey guys...I'm not sure if there is anyone over here I have met from a previous cycle in 2009, but this might be far enough out that I could catch someone in need of meds...
I am currently 20 weeks pregnant with twins from our second cycle last year. I would like to donate my leftover meds to someone without insurance if anyone from the forum needs them. I have one cartridge of Follistim 300 (expires in 2011 sometime) and a nice big box of unopened Endometrin (I can check the exact number of dosages). The Follistim was about $250 and the Endometrin was about $120, so I don't want them to be wasted. All I ask is that you pay shipping for the meds. I'm not exactly sure how to send the Follistim, but I know people overnight FedEx it somehow and keep it cold, so I'm sure we can figure it out. Also, I live near Nashville, so if you happen to be local, even better!
Anyway, we paid out of pocket for both cycles and meds, so I know how expensive this gets. Please PM me if you might want them!
I just wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing. I havent written much here as there isn't a whole lot going on with me. I started my BCP last Thursday. I also recieved my box of stim drugs from the pharmacy yesterday. Wow! There was so much stuff in there I was a little itimidated by it. I'm afraid I'm going to mix something up or forget to use something. Did anyone have a system for keeping track of what is what and when to take it. Also they gave me some rather large looking needles (18 gauge)! Anyone know what those are used for? How much are those going to hurt? I just hope those arent the ones I use for the intramuscular injections.
I guess that's all that's new with me. Where is everyone else in their process. mcfarland I know you have your consult coming up on the 15th to discuss FET right?
I just wanted to let you know that I will be jumping over to the official March/April thread that has been started. I have been lurking in the Jan/Feb thread and a lot of the girls that got BFN are in the March one now. If you guys want to jump on over there. Hope you are all doing well I miss chating with you guys!
