Bridesmaid dress??

Post by DillysGirl »

So I am hoping one of you can help me...

I am matron of honor in my friends wedding this coming April. I will be 7 months pregnant with twins! I am supposed to find a black calf length formal dress. Sounds easy, but it's not. I would prefer to spend under $100 on this dress but I am coming up empty handed. I have been all over the internet with little luck so I hoping someone has the magic answer I am looking for :) My next route will be to find someone to make me one I guess...

My sister was a bridesmaid when she was 7 months pregnant as well . . . she worked with with a bridal shop and the woman who did alterations . . . She selected a dress and then the seamstress was able to do something with that back of the dress to accommodate her growing belly . . . good luck :D

i just got married this past july and you might want to look at Siri dresses

http://www.siriinc.com/collections-maternity.html

they make really, nice dresses and they do prego dresses.

they are really great quality and they are a san fran base company.

i can tell you all of my bridesmaid dresses were about 300 each thought, but they were so much nicer than any davids bridal .

alot of the dresses are good for cocktail dresses too

good luck.

Nordstrom's has a nice selection of black dresses. I was a bridesmaid last month and had to wear a long black dress. I looked like I was wearing a nightgown, but hey, it wasn't my day anyway! Good luck!

JC Penny also has a ton of black dresses. Maybe with alterations something will work.

Pea in the Pod has the most beautiful one on sale now for 36 dollars (originally 149)!!!! It is the empire waist short sleeve and has a tapestry design on the fabric. Sounds perfect for your event. They also have many more beauties in the 75% off section.

Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the bride has decided to be picky now so I am really up a creek. If she's not careful she might just get me wrapped up in a table cloth :)

I was a matron of honor when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my daughter. The bride and I went to the bridal shop, she picked the color and then we chose a dress that would work with my belly. It was not a maternity dress, but was empire, falling right below my bust and then flowed to my calves. My bride also picked a different style of dress for the other girls (same color) so I would not feel like a whale in comparison to her size 6 bridesmaids. Of course it was not under $100, but I just wanted to let you know most bridal shops will work with you.
