By the way, we haven't gotten any newbies lately. I'm really hoping Lou71 comes over; she had her FET yesterday, and were were on the same schedule until her clinic closed for Christmas and wouldn't start any new procedures in the weeks before that. Say a prayer for her! We need some more buddies over here!

Morning ladies, just wanted to report in to let you know that the HPT was still positive this morning (woo hoo!) and I now have my date for my u/s. I go in on Thursday 21st January, when I will be 7wks2days. 13 sleeps to go!!!
julia_78 - how funny that you're feeling as if you are coming down with a cold as well. Maybe BRMommy2B's right and it's a pregnancy symptom and not anything else at all! Sorry about the sushi with your work colleagues (what an awkward choice of restaurant!) but sounds as if you managed to get enough safe things to eat - they probably didn't notice anything anyway! Do you get the weekend at home resting before you have to head off to Amsterdam next week?
Gamergirl/CK - how's it going?
BRMommy2B - can't wait to hear how your u/s goes today! Re your ticker, did you have to select your timezone when you set up the ticker? Maybe it has you in a different timezone and that's why you're a day behind. I don't get any email alerts, so I'm afraid I don't know about them. Haha, I think we probably all do the holding the stomach thing when we're about to cough or sneeze! I'm sure it makes absolutely no difference to Hope at all... p.s. Yes, it would be great to get a few more members on our thread. *crossing fingers for lou71 and anyone else out there in their 2ww*
Take care everyone,
Hx

Saw the heartbeat today! The baby is so tiny, but it looked like the entire thing was beating! RE cautioned us that we're not out of the woods yet, and actually recommended against the flu shots during first trimester. Next appt is next Thursday. Didn't do any blood work today. We're very happy! Now I need lunch! Starving!
other good news, my little brother passed his officers test for the air force yesterday. He has always struggled with tests, so we're so happy for him! He scored in the 100th percentile for strength and endurance. Guess he'll be whipping me back into shape after the baby comes!

BRMommy2B- That is so awesome!! I am glad to hear that you saw the heart beat.
Hazel- I think I am with everybody else with the fatigue and just felling all around yucky.
Julia- I feel your pain on the sushi issue. That is my DH favorite food. It takes a bit of an imagination to eat at a sushi restaurant.
I think waiting for my u/s is actually harder than the 2ww. I can't wait till the 20th to make sure everything is in order and to see if it is one or two. We are hoping for two but of course we will be just as happy with one.
My next U/S is next Thursday at 7:30 am. It would have been Friday but RE is taking a much needed day off!
I guess I'm going to get weekly U/S until he releases me. Fine with me!
I think I'm going to wait to tell everyone until week 7-8, because that is when all of the organ systems have begun developing and you really get out of the woods for the most part.

I have a question for you ladies. My tailbone has been hurting lately and nothing I do will help. Have any of you gone through this? I am 5 weeks and 2days if that helps.
hi gamegirl - i have not had that tailbone thing, sorry i can't be of any help!
brmommy2b - you saw the heart beat! that's so exciting! i am so happy for you & DH!! and congrats to you brother too! that was a good week for the family!
hazel - yay for another positive HPT!! so another 11 sleeps til u/s, right? wow the 2ww just keeps on coming back, in a form or another!!
afm - well i am pretty nervous right now. trying to keep the PMA but i am starting to see brownish-red blood on the endometrin applicator and when i wipe, and more "liquid" than the pink-ish stuff from before. but nothing that required a pad. i know spotting is pretty common and am trying to convince myself that it's not red, really more brown. dh has been the sweetest he has ever been, trying to comfort me & get my mind off of this. i have been nervous going to the bathroom b/c i don't want to see anymore. i have my b/w tomorrow to check on my progesterone level, so i guess i'll know more then. pls keep me in your thoughts tomorrow.

Julia: saying a prayer now. That is what I experienced as well, and so far so good. RE said that about half the time there is nothing to worry about. So I guess my recommendation to you would be what I did. I prayed like crazy, rounded up my prayer team and had them pray too. There is nothing you can do this point but that. I told God that I was so thankful that he had entrusted me with one of his precious children, and to please protect our child.
I wish you peace tonight and a good outcome tomorrow, and you can consider me part of your prayer team as well!

BRMommy2B - how're you feeling, have you calmed down yet from the excitement of seeing the heartbeat last week? I'm so jealous that you get to have weekly u/s! Only three more sleeps until you see Hope again!
julia_78 - Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry about the spotting. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though - as you said before, the endometrin etc aggravates the cervix and you're on quite a bit of it now. What did your RE say about it today? Can they give you an u/s to put your mind at rest? Thinking of you, honey...
Sorry, Gamergirl/CK, I haven't had the tailbone problem either. Did you mention it to your RE? Did it start before or after ET? Might it be because you've spent more time sitting down resting since ET?
AFM, nothing new my end, just waiting and waiting and waiting to get to the first u/s in 10 days' time!! Still no symptoms, yet, although I felt a bit more tired this weekend than usual.
I saw that BRMommy2B mentioned that her RE advised against having flu shots in the first trimester. What has everyone else's advice been, for the general flu shot but more specifically the swine flu vaccine?

hazel - in our first cycle the RE said flu shots were fine so i did one the day of ET (for the seasonal flu) and i kind of regretted it immediately. it made me feel under the weather - fever, chills - for a couple days, and i kept wondering whether this played a part in the BFN. i guess unless the obgyn recommends i get the shot for h1n1 i don't think i'd initiate it, given that it looks like the epidemic has slowed down some over here (not sure how bad it is in the uk?) what does your doc say?
afm - thank you for your nice posts of encouragement. well you were right, bloodwork was really good today, and all is still progressing as it should!! i am soooo relieved. my hcg was over >15,000 so it doubled at least 4 times since last week (they stop counting at 15,000 so not sure exactly how many times it doubled) which means everything's looking good. the IVF nurse said the spotting was probably just the endometrin aggravating my cervix even more than it had but nothing to worry about (easy for her to say!) one more reason to love progesterone that as long as i have no cramps and no flow that requires a pad they don't worry. big sigh of relief! and thanks for your kind words & prayers.
my progesterone was at 16 - woot, woot! that's from 10 last week, and she wanted it to stay above 10, ghost had said most protocols ask for 15. i can't help but think that the 2 gallons of grapefruit i drank in the last week played a part here so i am scheduled for my u/s on jan 25th, at which time we should see the heartbeat!!!
on my way to amsterdam for work and finally to vacation on saturday (which will be our last vacation of our "two-income no kids" era so i plan to make the best of it and get pampered!)
good luck with the 10 more sleeps hazel!! i am starting to realize pregnancy is going to be one 2ww after the next

Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?
I have a couple of questions. One is about your RE visits. The other is about medications.
When I was TTC and on all the medication I saw my RE like every other day then right before the retrieval and transfer it was everyday in for blood work and u/s. Now that I have had my transfer I have been in a total of two times for blood work. When they called me about my blood work the second time they told me everything was perfect and they would see me on January 20th for my u/s. It seems that you guys are going to the RE a lot more than that. Is this correct? If so how much do y'all go?
Second question, I have been having horrific headaches recently and was wondering what I am suppose to take for them. i read that Tylenol was OK for pregnant women. I called my REs office today to ask them about it but I missed the call back then when I called they had closed. I will be calling again in the morning but I am telling you these headaches have got to go. I have never had high blood pressure even when I was pregnant with my first child.
about appointments, my first was scheduled for 6 weeks exactly but I went in early bc of bleeding. Then I went to my reg appt at 6 weeks and another will be at 7 weeks (Thursday). They are all different!

Next: Work on improving DH and my fertility while saving up for next round. Why does something that we want so badly have to also be so expensive?
Gamergirl/CK - oooh, sorry about the headaches, they don't sound good. Have you been able to take anything for them? Funnily enough, I think I read somewhere that headaches can be a pregnancy symptom in the first trimester and I've woken up with one today, wonder whether that's why you've got them too? Not fun though... Re appointments, as BRMommy2B said, everyone is different. The US clinics see people WAY more than the UK clinics do. I last went in to the clinic for transfer on December 20th, haven't had a beta, any bloodwork or a consult since then, and won't go in until January 21st for my first u/s (when I will be 7wks2days). And if that goes well, I will then be signed over to my local doctor and won't have a scan or appointment again until my normal 12 week scan at the local hospital! So don't worry that you're not seeing your RE enough, you're seeing him far more than I get to!!
BRMommy2B - only two more days until your next u/s! I can't believe you're going to be 7 wks on Thursday... Did you ever get the problem with your ticker sorted out?
julia_78 - thanks for the information about flu shots. I was just asking out of interest, no-one has mentioned it to me yet but I know that in the UK, doctors' surgeries are encouraging pregnant women to get the swine flu shot. I don't think I will feel comfortable doing it though. Woo hoo for good bloodwork, you can finally relax about that progesterone level now! Enjoy Amsterdam, I love that city! Do you get to spend any time being a tourist or is it all work, work, work while you're there? Oh well, you're going to be on holiday soon enough anyway! Ooooh tell me about pregnancy being one 2ww after another - I've worked out that mine is going to be a 2ww to do a HPT to find out whether it worked, followed by a 3ww to get to the first u/s, then a 5ww (yes, I said 5ww!!!) to get to the 'normal' 12 week u/s. How am I going to cope?????
