Cramping after ET and freaking out!

Post by sakooooot »

I had my Embryo transfer on 1/4. We transferred two grade A day 5 blastocysts. I had some cramping on the next day and then nothing at all and then more cramping on and off for a few days as if AF was coming. Now I get very very mild cramps from time to time. I am worried that something is going wrong. I know some women get cramping and some don't but I am freaking out. My beta is on Thursday. I had cramping during my two IUI's as well which were BFN so I am feeling a bit down. Did any of you ladies had cramping right from the start and still got a BFP? Thanks.

Try not to worry sakooooot. I did a day 5 transfer of one blast on 20th December. I had lots of cramping for the first 4-5 days after ET (and I also had some cramping before ET, thanks to the progesterone) then I felt nothing from Christmas Day onwards. I was convinced that it hadn't worked, as I felt more and more 'normal' each day (and I only had very, very slight cramps on and off starting again around 8dp5dt) but I did a HPT on New Years Day and it was positive! Now I think that the progesterone was causing the cramping and it was nothing to do with the embryo.

I know it's hard to relax, but cramping or absence of cramping (and even cramping on one day and nothing the next) doesn't necessarily mean anything. Try and keep up your PMA until your beta, easier said than done though I know.

Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much (I know it is easier said than done.)

I also had cramping 7-10 days after my ET and thought for sure I wasn't pregnant. My twins are now 8 1/2 months old and napping. :)

Best of luck.

Thanks ladies. Well I am also having some vaginal itching now at night..sorry if it's TMI! I normally get that when my period is about to start and now I am convinced that it didn't work out...my beta is on thurs but I don't have the courage to test with an hpt early...I am feeling very down today for some reason :(

No hpt

Dear Sakooooot. Sweet girl it will be ok. Don't do the HPT. I was advised this way by my Dr. The HPTs don't always detect the low amount of HCG pulsing through your system. And if you're lucky like me, they dont work with your body at all. The HPT can give false + and false - very often. Try not to feel down; amazing things are comming your way. You are in my thoughts and prayers. hugs - Mandy

Thanks Mandy! I still haven't done the hpt yet. I have my beta at 10:30 am. I guess I'll just wait for the official answers now :) I am feeling very anxious now but keeping my faith...thanks again for your kind words!
