Hello you wonderful ladies! This is my first post. I have never posted before but thought it may be therapeutic. We are doing our 2nd round of IVF and I do not want to go through losing another pregnancy. I have heard that eating the core of a pinapple has some sort of enzymes that boost the rates of attachment. Has anyone else heard this? Thank you.
Hi!! I'm relatively new to the site, too--and I would say that it is definitely therapeutic. As I understand it, this is a much discussed topic on this board and the opinions are mixed? Some people say that eating too much of the pineapple core (the enzyme is bromelain) can actually cause uterine contractions, which would be very counterproductive. Some people say that eating it in moderation could be beneficial because bromelain is anti-inflammatory (if you eat it on an empty stomach). My accupuncturist is the one who mentioned it to me during my last cycle. Ironically, I did not eat pineapple my first cycle and had a chemical pregnancy, but I did eat it the second cycle, and I had a BFN. Of course, that is just me. The most recent thing I read said to cut up one whole pineapple (with core) and divide it into 5 equal portions and eat one portion every day starting with the transfer day. I should be doing my next ER/ET next week and honestly, I have not decided if I am going to do the pineapple thing or not. Maybe others have something to offer on this--but, this is just a recap of what I've read to date. Hope it helps and best of luck!!!
It's just a rumor. There is no evidence that pineapple improves implantation.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
I agree with Ghost. There probably is not any hard core evidence that eating pineapple increases your chances for implantation, BUT i know that I ate tons of it during my 2ww and have been successful. Of course, it probably had nothing to do with the pineapple, but hey, its worth a shot especially if you like it! I ate it every day of my 2ww and will be having my twins next week!
I have also been curious about pineapple. I asked my dr about it and he said there is no evidence that it has any impact on success rates.
That said, I didn't have any during my first cycle which resulted in a chemical pregnancy and I did eat pineapple every day during my 2ww of my second cycle which was successful! For IVF, I am going to eat pineapple every day again during the 2ww. Not because I think it absolutely matters but because I like it, it makes me feel like I am doing something while waiting and my dr said it couldn't hurt.
I also agree with a previous post about the accupuncture. I am kind of scared of needles so that isn't for me but I am definitely getting a couple of massages while stimming!
