I know... symptoms come and go, but please reassure me.

Post by aimee613 »

Someone please reassure me or just tell me the truth (good or bad) as I am kind of freaking out. I am 10w1d today and my breasts have been extremely sore constantly for the past two weeks or so. So much so that when I slept on them or went over a bump while driving in the car they would really hurt. Starting yesterday that have stopped hurting unless I press on them a certain way. This has been my only real constant pregnancy sign and I am worried that my one sign is fading. My other signs like nausea and tired come and go so they are harder to gauge. This is my first pregnancy so I don't know what is normal. We saw a beautiful and healthy heartbeat of 164 at 8w1d, but I am so afraid that this is a missed miscarriage. Also I am on PIO shots and up until last week I was on 1cc. Starting at 9 1/2 weeks I have been at 1/2 cc.

I am kind of freaking out and can't sleep over this. I have been up now for several hours and so worried. My next U/S and appointment isn't for another two weeks so this is torture. I wish I could stop worrying over every little thing. I really don't know what to think, but wish I would stop thinking so much!

Hi Aimee. It's understandable that you worry. I did a lot with my daughter. The breast tenderness can come and go and so can the nausea and tiredness. I was sick the entire 1st 7 mths of my pregnancy..I didn't have morning sickness, I had ALL DAY sickness. And one day it just stopped. My doctor told me constantly that women are different, some women have these things and some don't. Easier said than done, but try not to worry too much. Maybe you can speak with your doctor about what you're feeling and also did your doctor tell you that there are monitors that you can buy at like Toys and Babies R Us that has headphones and you can listen to the baby anytime you want? I had one with my daughter because sometimes I felt like if she didn't move often, there was a problem. There wasn't but the monitor made me feel better. Just a thought..wishing you all the best and please try to get some rest hun.

Aimee - I know how you are feeling. The breast tenderness was my one constant sign and it started fading around the same time as yours. The truth is, your body just starts getting used to all the hormones and you aren't as sore anymore. As long as you aren't bleeding, I wouldn't worry about it. It's harder when you get used to the IVF monitoring and then you turn into just a "regular" pregnant woman without all of that constant feedback. At first, two weeks may as well be an eternity.

I am getting close to 19 weeks with twins. We originally had triplets and saw three heartbeats at 6.5 weeks, but we lost one around 7.5 weeks. After that, every little thing set me off for a while, worrying about the other two. I told my OB's office if they can't find two heartbeats, they WILL be sending me down for an u/s or I won't leave the office. I am not sure the nurse practitioner believed me the first time I informed her of this, but sure enough, when I was adamant about it, they took the time to find both heartbeats. It's getting a little easier now because I can feel some movement, so there is more reassuance without a doctor's appointment. (Okay, plus I look pregnant, lol.) I have to wait a month in between ultrasounds this time, but the wait gets easier. At this point, I'm happy that I don't have to go all the time because it means everything is normal.

Anyway, I know it's hard, but try not to worry so much and to get some rest :)

Breast tenderness is not a reliable indicator of the health of the pregnancy in an IVF cycle. It's something of a progesterone indicator.

Your clinic is weening you off of the progesterone in oil. At about this time, the placenta begins to make enough of its own progesterone, and the supplements become unnecessary. Most clinics discontinue progesterone supplements around 10 weeks.

As you are weened off of the supplements, breast tenderness may increase or decrease.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
