Cervical Stenosis and IVF...Please help

Post by sakooooot »

I recently finished my first IVF with a BFN. I have endo and cervical stenosis. Before the first cycle in october I had a lap to remove endo and a DnC to dilate the cervix. The transfer was not that difficult but today I started my period after stopping the meds on Thurs once I found out it was a BFN. I was in extreme pain in the morning and almost passed out. Feels like the cervix is closing up. It has happened to me before the 2nd surgery the period started but barely anything came out. I do see blood coming out now but still have that horrible pain as if things are not coming out right (could be my enlarged ovaries?). Sorry if it's TMI. I was supposed to start my next cycle as soon as I got my period (to prevent the stenosis from coming back) and now I am not sure what to do. I have booked an appt with my RE for Wed but I am really scared and confused. On one hand, I don't want to delay the next cycle but on the ohter hand if my cervix is really shutting up then I might be moving myself towards another failed cycle :( Has anyone been through a similar situation? I don't want to go through another lap in just three months. Also, one more thing. Does a period after a failed IVF hurt more than normal? Please advice.

Soo sorry for all that you are going through right now. I dont know much about what you are dealing with but I do know that the period following my failed IVF cycle was the worst I have ever had in my life. Major cramps and I didnt understand how one person can bleed soo much! Unfortunatley it makes sense after a failed cycle for it to be worse because of building up the lining soo much more than on a normal cycle. Hope you RE has good news for you and all is well so you can continue soon.

period after IVF

Hey Girl. So sorry to hear of the emotional and physical pain you are going though. And yes the period I had after my 1st failed IVF was horrible. If it gets too bad or if there are clots in the discharged blood call your dr. Loves and hugs to you sweetie. xoxo
