Ghost another hCG question :)

Is it possible to have a positive HPT and have a negative blood test? I ask because this is happening to me. Doctors can't explain what is going on. I have had + hpts since Nov 9th and my blood test finally was <5 last Tuesday. Gave birth to Triplets October 8th @ 21.5 wks. What can be happening to me?

That is odd.

Are you still getting positive HPT?

After a birth, it takes awhile for the hCG to clear your system. At birth, your level may be up in the tens of thousands. However, it should have cleared in a few weeks or so.

Perhaps you have unusually slow clearance, perhaps you had some placental tissue remaining that was making hCG, or perhaps you had an early pregnancy that has since been lost. Those are the possibilities I could think of.

Hello ghost, my name is brandi and i used this site before when i was going through my first ivf cycle. it was awesome i met alot of nice people and got alot of support. Now im back. But this time we still have the fertility issue but we would like to try naturally for a while before we do a frozen cycle. We tried for 4 years before we were blessed with our beautiful almost 2yr old using ivf with icsi. we are starting this journey again and i would really like some support and advice thru this trying time again. so do know if its poss to still get pregnant with bad morphology when the sperm and motility count is good?

It's often possible, yes. But the chances may be reduced by some degree.

You might try the IVF board rather than the general discussion board. I think it's a little better for questions specific to IVF.
