Hello to the "other side"

Post by BelB »

Well hello there,
I must admit, I have been secretly visiting this side for the last five weeks, but just scared to actually send anything..
Am now nine weeks and three days..Yikes it's gone fast so far!!..We've had a six week and an eight week scan which both went really well...Our fat little bubby had grown from 5mm in week six, to 22mm in week 8 (8 and a 1/2 weeks to be precise!!!), the heartbeat was strong, and we saw what appeared to be a limb of some description..John (dh) is a MAD cricket fan, so he's convinced that this little bub is warming up his bowling arm....hmmmm :? :?
Our edc is the 22nd of November, 2004...AMAZING!!!!!!!!!! :D

Hi Bel

I'm glad your scans went well I found each one really nerve wracking but great once you see the heartbeat!
It must be all that sunny aussie sunshine making your little one grow!
I'm 14 weeks and 2 days now and already have a bump (my excuse is I'm only 5ft 2 so theres not much space for it go other than out front - well thats my theory and I'm sticking to it!!)
Hope your still buying lots of shoes....!
Love Dawn

Hi chicks,

Was lovely to hear from so many people..We have our ten and a half week scan tomorrow (my doctor is really watching me, I guess because of my miscarriage last time round). I get SOOOO nervous before each and every scan, will this nervousness ever stop??

Lorraine, our dates are close..I'm really nauseous, thus far no actual chucking, just wretching (I've actually put my neck out becuase of it..what a dag am I??), am very over it, sooo keen to get through to the second semester where I believe (ha ha) the sickness dissapears..please don't anyone burst my bubble??!!!!

Zed, thanks for your post..I'm really keen for the twelve week scan, mainly cause this is the whole "first trimester out of the way" milestone..I keep telling myself I'll stress less once I jump this hurdle (yeah right!!!)

Magnus, was really nervous about posting over here..wierd hey!!..just feels "right" now (hopefully this will continue!!!) Am also doing the snacking to avoid chucking thing, seems to work well most of the time (am going to be the size of a house however!!) :D

Tracey - Thanks for your welcome and congratulations...24 weeks, that sounds like a LIFETIME away... :?

Dagny - Thanks for your lovely post, we do look forward to the twelve week scan..is it true you see little fingers even???

Dawn - I just have to get used to the fact that we're having a big baby I think..lucky I'm pretty keen on an elective caesar, the thought of pushing out a big bubby scares the begeezers out of me to be honest!!!..I reckon my pants are getting a little tight already, I'm six foot tall, so have no excuse about putting on a little weight, but eating seems to be the only way to ward of the nausea, so I shall continue!!..Congrats on being at 14 weeks, can't wait to be there (over the twlve week hump and all that!!) 8)

Love to all
Belinda

hi belinda, though i would just tag on the end with my congradulations,
its just so lovely to see new names appear on this side, we can all
feel the excitiement and apprehension that we all go thru and its so
nice we can share these experiences with other girls who realy do
undestand.
Look after yourself, and good luck with your next scan, if i had my
way i would love to have a scan every week for reasurance !!!!

Hi Belinda,
so happy to hear from you, i saw you had a positive on the other side and was wondering when you'd show up. very glad all is going well! take care and do not worry too much until then next scan (easy for me to say i have them almost every week like alisonn would wish to, but given all the scares i had I'd rather not).
love,

Belinda

Just dragged myself away from the Home and Away website  don't ask and now got Dagny on it and she has done no housework

Hope the scan goes well. I was very panicky the first few - they do get better though I panicked at 16 weeks and 20 weeks as Oliver died at the 20 week scan (very unusual so don't worry) and had stopped growing around 17 weeks. Now I just like to know they are growing ok and have enough fluid etc. I can feel them so it is easier than the early days when you have just nausea to go on and then this disappears around week 12 for me and then you have no signs for a while until the fluttering - oh apart from growing boobs like melons!!!
Good luck anyway and keep us posted. You will be amazed at the growth
