New IVF'er Feeling Lost In Big Cycle Group - anyone else?

I also have four tries...hoping that at least one of them works!! It's scary that they may not. My first one didn't work and I don't know how common that is. Anyway, good luck!!

We went for our final ultrasound and bloodwork yesterday (wednesday) and were given the go ahead to trigger last night at 9 p.m.

The doctor measured about 9 follies measuring around 17.5 mm and stopped because he said there were a lot more and no need to keep poking around to get the exact numbers.

I am a bit concerned as my Estrogen (E2) was over 10,800 which seems to put me at some risk for OHSS, but I'm letting the doctors handle that and just being a good patient.

Tomorrow is our big day, I am really hoping for at least 16 good eggs.

DandMe, it seems like aside from the Estrogen level, you are really lookin' good! I am thinking of you and hoping that everything goes as planned. I, too, have progesterone issues and following my two IUIs did the suppository Prometrium. Are you going to do progesterone shots after the egg retrieval? Although I don't start my Lupron until Thursday, I am scheduled for progesterone shots (should we get to that point this cycle) for 2-5 weeks based on need.

I read your blog and found it informative, humorous, motivating, realistic, and heartbreaking all at once. I saw myself in a lot of what you wrote and you put a tremendous voice to those feelings.

I am eager to hear how the egg retrieval goes and will be thinking of you tomorrow! Best of luck to you and David!

Your numbers sound good...hopefully your estrogen will be ok. I am so excited for. Praying for lots of good eggs!! Good luck and keep us posted on how your retreival turns out! Best of luck to you and David!!

On a side note, I went in for my us/bw today and they upped my gonal-f to 450! Everything else seems to be going well though...my blood levels seem good. I go in again Monday to see how my follies are doing.

Molly, I also did the gel (how gross is it!!) and have never done the shots, so I'm no help there.

my bloodsugar level has increased so my dibetian told me even if I get preggo I may lose the baby.My re was more than understanding and is doing ER tomorrow,but will transfer only ifmy levels are normal.Else we will freez the embbies.I am so much under stress donno what will happen, Estradiol was still 1200 so Re thinks I may get only 6-7 eggs.I am losing all hopes.

I am doing progesterone vaginally starting tomorrow morning. I am usually a real b*tch on them but will try to endure with a good attitude. I'm doing 600 mg a day. Ugh.

Good luck with the Monday follie check!! I'll be anxiously awaiting to see how things are going. Did they give a reason for the upped meds? they took mine up for the last five days of stims - and got amazing results. What is your E2?

I agree... just keep hoping for the best. I'm sorry things aren't working out as you wanted, but give things time and do all you can to bring the blood sugar down.. Is there much you CAN do? Tons of ladies get pg with FET, so you are not nearly out of the game!

We had our retrievel this morning and it all went very well. It as a LOT more painful than I anticipated to be honest. I could feel each and every time the needle went into each follicle.

Although I am not nearly as bloated now and that's a huge relief, but I do have moderate af cramps. I was really hungry afterwards and we managed a great lunch before I came back to the hotel and had a four hour recovery nap.

So we got 22 eggs! I am thrilled with the result and now it's all in the doctor's hands. I've done everything I can do!
We'll get a fertilization report around noon tomorrow.

Now today was mr ER they managed 8eggs of wguch 6 look good,donno what will happen till tuesday.As for now I have decided to do FET later when I am more stable,as for me i take it as "one thing less to think about that is ET. I had some bleeding and I am still soar like hell.

As for me... She actually ended up keeping my gonal-f at 375 because all of my b/w came back good. So, Monday is another u/s and b/w and we'll see how everything goes from there. ER will possibly be this coming Friday, but my follies will dictate that. It's nice because I can check out all of my info online (follies and B/W). I had a meltdown yesterday and cried for about 3 hours (that's what all of these hormones will do to you!). Have a great day everyone.

Sonya, sounds like you had a terrific result. 22 eggs is awesome! Aside from the pain and discomfort (I heard that ER wasn't too bad...I guess not!) it sounds like everything went as planned. I can't wait to hear how the rest of your story plays out. The vaginal progesterone is pretty gross, but hey...whatever it takes! It is very necessary.

Hi there... I hear ya about the big board... I can follow a few of the ladies' stories and they are really nice, but it takes so long and I sometimes feel like they just throw in a comment to me once in a while! LOL I know the 'main' girls keep up with each other but I get the feeling they've been posting for a few months perhaps? I mostly enjoy reading what's happening to them.

It's such a wait and see game with the IVF, don't you find? Always hoping things go okay, always wondering what the next set of tests will bring. We had 15 eggs fertilize and are pretty happy with that number. Now again.. we wait and see what happens tomorrow!
