1st IVF! Did embryo transfer yesterday!

Post by devans »

Im new to this and looking for some support as my husband is deployed right now. This is my 1st cycle. We had 13 eggs and 10 fertilized and we transferred 2 and froze 8. yesterday i was on bedrest all day, only got up to use the restroom. today im on bedrest again, my friend is staying with me this weekend to help me with my daughter. I feel a little crampy and just really tired. Any advice or suggestions anyone can give me i would apprecate it. I go for my first bloodwork on feb 9th and then repeat on the 11th. Also almost everyone is using abbreviations, and I dont know what they mean so again can someone help me out. thanks so much and I wish everyone the very best during the cycle.

Hi devans -- First off... go to the General forum on the Message Board. Near the top is a list of abbreviations. Secondly, welcome! Lot's of support on these boards. Come on over to the Jan/Feb board. You'll find a lot of great supportive ladies there. Many who are in their 2 week wait (2ww) like yourself. My fingers are crossed for a BFP for you (Big Fat Positive). You will feel crampy on and off, that's normal with positive and negative results. Plus the darn progesterone injections have the same side effects as pregnancy just to mess with your brain even more. My only advice is to try not to drive yourself crazy during this time and to try to resist taking a HPT. I waited until the morning of my blood draw just to be prepared. The HCG in your urine likely won't be at detectable levels until at least 10-12 days post transfer depending on whether you had a 3 day or 5 day transfer. Best of luck to you!

Hi

Welcome to the group. I'm new here myself. It seems there are tons of very supportive people at this site. I wish I found them earlier. I had lots of cramping and bloating after my transfer and retreival. The worst thing for me was going to the bathroom in the middle of the night pretty much everyday.

I can let you know that it's going to be a very long 2 week wait, but try to keep yourself busy. Come onto the board and read about people's stories. Lots of them are very inspirational.

Hope everything goes well for you.

Hi there... congrats on a successful cycle - now to get through the 2ww! It sounds like everything is going well. My clinic does not suggest bedrest and I'm okay with that - I've been in a hotel room for nearly three weeks and can't wait to get home!

We had 22 mature eggs and 15 fertilized. So far all are dividing which is great - we anticipate two embies transferred on day 5 - Wednesday.

All the best of luck to you!!!

Hi! I had my transfer on Feb 4th and I am waiting anxiously for next week to come. I see your 1st blood test is today...any news? This is my first IVF cycle. We had 28 eggs with 6 fertilizing. THey implanted 2 and froze 4. I am grateful for having "extra" My husband and I have been trying for over 5 years with many heartaches. I wish you the best. I would love to have someone to talk with.
