baby aspirin?

Post by Rae37 »

Has anyone taken baby aspirin for IVF cycle and got a BFP? I have the MTFHR gene copies some people recommended it. My RE didn't say it was a must, but said if I wanted to take it, I could. So, I am.
I am 8dpt. My beta is friday. 2nd IVF. My 1st was a chemical. I wasn't on baby aspirin on that cycle (before I knew about the MTFHR)

Thanks everyone! This is a great forum!!

I was just told I have MTHFR and I am 13 weeks pregnant. I have been on baby asprin since transfer and folic acid, but now I am also on lovenox injections to thin my blood. Good luck on Friday.

Hi Rikirees,

Just wondering why you have done only Frozen ET's? Is there a reason why fresh transfer wasn't done? I am just curious, b/c I have read in some areas that sometimes women do better on FET's since the uterus sometimes isn't ready on a Fresh ET. I have the MTRHR too.
You seem to yeild A LOT of eggs, but I have only had 3 embies left each time. I only yeilded 6 eggs my 1st IVF and 9 the 2nd.

Thanks
Rachel

Sorry to be a bit behind, but could you clarify all of the anagrams for me. I'm a little confused by them all. Thanks

I got a BFP and these are the things I did. I have no idea if any of these things helped or not...but they are things I will do again, when we try again. Cause...who knows... why not?

I took baby aspirin, prenatal, and folic acid.

I did acupuncture the day of ER and ET and a couple of times after ET.

I ate pineapple everyday the week of ER and ET.

I did no alcohol or caffeine 4 weeks before ER.

I went on bedrest for 3 days after ET.

Tammy S - You mentioned you took a prenatal vitamin and folic acid? How much total folic acid did you take a day? There is folic acid in my prenatal vitamin but I was thinking of taking more with my next transfer. Any suggestions as to how much to take and can we take too much folic acid?

Regarding baby asprin - I did take 1 baby asprin a day after my FET and got a positive result although I did miscarry at 5 1/2 weeks with an unknown cause after testing.

Hi, I had 2 chemicals from FET's all the same batch of embryo's. I was then had a lot of further tests, immune, clotting chromosones, and it was found i have Factor V leiden (clotting) which causes early miscarraige. I took baby aspirin every day from 2 days before ET, i had 2 embies transferred and both took, i now have 19 month old twin boys. I took the aspirin t0 34 weeks.
good luck to you all, hope you get your dreams.

I've been on baby aspirin for all my cycles, but before this one I found out I had one copy of the MTHFR C-T allele, and my doc put me on lovenox shots from the day of the embryo transfer onwards. Its early days yet but my betas at 9d, 11d and 12dp5dt have been 194, 300 and 560, so its looking pretty good. Last 3 cycles were all chemicals where my beta levels dropped at 11dp5dt so I'm feeling hopeful...

I would definitely take the baby aspirin and if you experience any more chemical pregnancies, ask them to do the MTHFR test, I wish I'd known about it earlier, maybe we wouldn't have needed to do so many cycles! I didn't show any symtoms of abnormal blood clotting, so I guess they didn't think it was a problem, but I think the mutaton can have subtle effects that don't show up in lab tests.

good luck!
