Can you tell me how you know that YAZ has lowered your blood sugar? I am just curious!

Hi gang!

VictoriainAZ: Did you get your big ol' box of meds yet? Yah, this storm has been amazing--they're calling for even MORE snow this week. God, what I wouldn't give to be in sunny AZ. I'm sooo jealous!!

rayofsunshine: LOVE your PMA--it's infectious!! Any sign of AF?

zozo38: Welcome! Glad you joined us! It can be scary at first, but you'll become a pro in no time!

misocial: Ugh. It sounds like you're miserable. I was miserable too while on Metformin so my RE took me off of it. For what it's worth, I was able to have my DS after my second IVF cycle while NOT on Metformin. Maybe it's not worth it?!? Although....I did have a bad case of OHSS. Hmmmmm... What does your RE say? Is he/she convinced it will help a lot?

dodo928: Good to see you here! Looks like you, Bei, and I will have our ETs close to one another!

hopeforbabies: Your relazing weekend with your DH sounded so nice! Take advantage while you can, because WHEN you get preggo this cycle---your little one will take up all your time!

to_have_fun08: Wow, you've been through so much. I'm so impressed with how strong and persistant you've been. It just goes to show you what a wonderful mother you'll be when THIS cycle works out!

AFM: I've been feeling sick for the past few days. Maybe it's the BCPs? I can't imagine it is, since I've used this brand on and off for the past 15 years! These CRAZY thoughts run through my mind like, "What if they were wrong about my last cycle and I really am pregnant?". Like I said, I know that's CRAZY talk since they did b/w and I took like a billion HPTs that were all negative. Sigh. This whole IVF thing can be such an emotional rollercoaster.

misocial Thank you so much for the info on the Metformin. It certainly encourages me to continue to take it even though it makes us so sick. Yes I have had thoughts of just not taking it anymore (I hate throwing up), but wont. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you feel better soon and a hurry up AF dance for you :!:

to_have_fun08 I am so happy that your sister is going to give you some of her eggs. Its really neat that you will both cycle so you will have that many more eggs. I think that is really sweet of her and I am glad it has given you new hope. You have been through so much and I know you will get the BFP this cycle.

rlk1 Its awful how many scary "what ifs" go through our heads in the IVF world. We have to worry about when AF will come, how we will respond to meds, how many eggs will make it to transfer, if will we get OHSS, etc. I guess it couldn't hurt to take one more HPT or ask your RE for one more blood draw, just to make sure. Either way I hope you feel better soon and the weather warms up. 8)

I just can't stay away from you guys!

hopeforbabies: You're so right about the "what if" game in IVF!! I don't think I'm going to call my RE or take another HPT---I don't want the CRAZY to take over!! I know I'm not pregnant--it's probably just those darn BCPs (or a lovely stomach bug!). How are things with you? Do you and DH have another relaxing weekend planned this weekend?

bei: Yep, sounds like we have similar symptoms. I also feel nauseous, but I don't feel like eating. I guess the hormones from the BCPs are making us feel this way. I hope you feel better soon!

hi everyone!
i hope everyone is having a good week!! is it march yet?? thank god feb. is the shortest month because it is going by soooooo slow!! i just want my BFP already damnit!! haha

bei good luck on your mock transfer on friday!! i hope you feel better...i think it might be the BCP's. when did you start them?

rlk1 hi sweetie! are you ready for more snow?? jeez...you guys have more snow down there this winter then we do in NH. and to think all my friends down in Richmond thought i was crazy for moving back to the northeast! i hope you are feeling better. i have this horrible cold that wont go away. its so hard to give up thinking you might be pregnant after a BFN. i have been going through the same thing. for me i know i'm just crazy because i got AF last tuesday and its just leaving now, but i think i got used to trying to figure out every little twinge and cramp during the 2ww that i am still reading into everything. its nuts i know. i am also on BCP's. did you get AF yet?? how did your F/U appointment go? thinking of you always!!

misocial hi hun! i was also on metformin, and i hated it!! at first they put me on a very low dose because my inslin levels were on a high normal range. that didnt bother me....then when i went to my RE she thought that maybe along with my endo that i was slightly PCOS, and decided to put me on a huge dose before i started my first cycle. i took it faithfully from may until sept. last year. let me tell you, it was the WORST summer ever. i was traveling a TON, and always outdoors with no bathrooms in sight!! (tmi coming up sorry) anytime i ate i had to make sure there was a bathroom close by because within 20 minutes after eating ANYTHING i would have the worst diarrhea EVER. i'm talking as soon as i felt that little gurgle in the pit of my stomach i had about 5 minutes to make it to a bathroom or else it would be a really embarassing situation!! i thought i would do anything for this IVF to work, but i couldnt take it anymore. i stopped taking it after my first cycle was canceled. i figured it obviously wasnt helping, and it was keeping me from living a normal life (and tons of money on toilet paper!!) once i stopped taking it i went back to normal within 2 days, and felt great! i did lose a ton of weight on it, but seriously it wasnt healthy, and i'm still losing weight but just slower now. i hope your body starts to get used to it, but for me i never felt better!

ok sorry for 2 posts but i got a phone call, and i didnt want to lose everything i typed!

victoria did you get your baby in a box yet? its a little overwhelming at first, but trust me it gets easier! my first cycle i couldnt believe all the drugs that i had to inject! i actually set them all up on my kitchen table and took pictures of them all so i could send them to my family so they would see what i was going through. well 3 cycles later and i get soooo excited to see that big ol box show up because it means i am getting closer to my BFP!!

zozo welcome!! going through IVF can be very lonely and scary. you came to the right place to find amazing support and advice though every step of this crazy world. i have gained so much info from this site then i ever would from just my RE. i hope you stick around and feel at home!

tohavefun seriously we need to stop being on cycle threads together!! you are so so so strong, and i am in awe how you just keep going. i know its not as easy as it sounds, but i am praying you get your BFP this time!! what can they do for your "killer" cells??
its so nice of your sister to do this for you! ivf had some friends and also my SIL say they would give me their eggs, but there is always a "but" following it. i know they are just trying to let me know how much they love me and would do anything for me, but it does me no good if they wont actually do it! thats really mean of me to say...yikes!!

dodo how are you feeling? how long do you have to be on BCP's for?

misocial i forgot to tell you after all the poo talk, that after my first canceled cycle i had to go on provera because i was 10 days late. i took it for 4 days, and it made my hair fall out...like in huge clumps!!! soooo not what i needed on top of everything else. after i finished taking it i thought i would get AF right away, but it took another 12 days after taking it!!!!! my normal 28 days cycle turned into 54 days!!! my hair is still thinner, but it stopped falling out after about 8 days. its growing back now, but i will never go on that stuff again!!! i am anti metformin, and provera!!! i just finished AF over here so i am sending the evil witch your way!!

afm i go in tomorrow morning for my hysteroscopy, and i hope when they tell me its easy that they arent lying to me!! i also hope everything looks good, and i dont have any polyps in my uterus.
alright well i need to get off this computer..i have a really bad cold and all this typing is making me dizzy!!

Dodo928 I don’t know why the Yaz affected my blood sugar but it bottomed me out 3 out of 5 days. The package insert said “may affect blood sugar”. I called the RE and had it changed. I just started the new BCP the next day. If you have any concerns call your RE ask for something different.

Rlk1 I know sometimes the head and the heart don’t match. If you are for real concerned ask the RE to humor you.

Hopeforbabies I am going to cave and not take the night metformin dose. I have spent the day running to the bathroom. It has now affected my health, I have a call into the RE. You can fight the good fight for both of us tonight !!!!

Bei Good luck and relax for your mock transfer…RELAX,,,,think of it as an expensive pap !!! Still learning the how too’s of the images. Most are found on the web, just copy and paste the links.

rlk1 Funny that you ask if DH and I will have another relaxing weekend. I think the answer is yes and no. We plan to start our veggie garden on Saturday along with catching up on the yard work and house cleaning we didn't do last week. :( But Sunday we plan so celebrate V-Day with dinner and a movie. I have been wanting to see 3D Avatar so I think that's what we will see. As for your "Crazies", I think that's perfectly understandable. My DH fears how I will react to the stim drugs when I start those. Feel better and know we are here for you to vent those concerns.

turtle0619 I too think that Feb. is dragging by and I can't wait for March to get here. Good luck with your appointment today. Hope its as painless as they say.

Bei What is a mock transfer and why do they do them? Whatever it is I hope that everything goes well.

misocial I hope not taking your dose last night will make today more tolerable for your stomach. I find the morning dose is worse for me as i don't think the Metformin agrees with my coffee. Doc said I could have one cup a day, but this morning I've decided to try mint green tea instead. Hopefully that will work out better then the coffee.

AFM - Sorry if I forgot anyone in the personals! I am scheduled to stop my BCP on Saturday and resume them on Wed again. Should I expect a short AF?

kaybie - welcome to the board , I think u ,me,dodo and rlk all are on same time i m starting my luprone injection on 2/17 I m doing my ER and ET in march too so dont worry we all gonna be togher ,dont feel alone u can ask anything whatever u want to know , ladies on this board really know all the stuff

hopeforbabis- A mock transfer is where they take a measurement of your uterus and make sure that there is nothing that will block the way when they transfer the embro's. You might have a little cramping but pretty much it isn't much different then a pap.

misocia - I know thans for advice but i m just scared about full bleder. i always scared about bleder. did u have any symtoms for af yet

rlks - how u feeling today .

turtle - hope u doing okay with ur hysteroscopy, and hope u feel batter after that and I started my bcp on2/3 and i have to take till 2/19

dodo - hope u feeling bettar , I taking bcp too it makes me sick too .

Hello lovely ladies!

I had to sneak on tonight-my schedule is crazy this week! I teach 2nd grade and we have parent-teacher conferences this week. I'll breathe a big ol' sigh of relief when they are over tomorrow.

misocial-Yikes! No AF and all the bathroom drama sounds awful-I feel for you. No wonder Metaformin is a "weight loss" plan, it sounds like everything you eat goes out immediately. Ah, the things we do to get pregnant!

bei-Have you had to do the mock transfer before on previous cycles? I wonder if they do that every time... I can't remember when I did that since I've been in this for a while. Best of luck that it goes smoothly

kaybie and zozo-Welcome! Everything is overwhelming at first but you will find strength and get through this with a little help from your new friends here. There is such great support and info.-don't be afraid to ask anything.

hopeforbabies-It's so nice to sneak those great moments with the DH. Hope you have a fun Valentine's together

rlk1-How are you feeling? I get stomaches and headaches from BCPs (or I think they are the culprit). I swear I haven't felt "right" since I started this in August-agh! I hope you feel better soon.

Franny-We could fast forward to March-I am SO ready, already! Hoping the hysteroscopy goes well for you-no polyps!

tohavefun-It is really great that your sister can do this for you-what an amazing gift! So with the double cycle, your sister is doing IVF as well? I'll being cheering you both on!

Victoria and dodo-How is it going? Hope all is well

AFM-AF came Monday and I went in for baseline on Tues. It looks like my donor starts meds on the 18th and ER will be 3/1 with a 5 day transfer on the 6th. I am SO ready to get the show on the road. I also got the great news that I will do estrodial and endomtrim (SP?) suppositories and drumroll.... NO SHOTS!!! WooHoo!!

By the way-I have left over Follistim (I think 900 units), Menopur, and PIO that I will not be using. If anyone could use them I will let you have them (just pay for shipping). PM me ;)

Take care and keep the faith
