High betas? mulitples? Ghost?!

Post by Rae37 »

Can someone please reassure me or let me know what their outcome is?
I found out Friday we are pregnant from 2nd IVF cycle. My fist beta 11dp3dt was 285. 2nd beta taken on 14dp3dt was 1760.
We transferred 3 embies - 2 of them were 4 celled and 1 was 6 celled.
I almost 38 and those were all the embies we had on day 3, so they recommened we transfer all.

Has anyone had multiples from 4 celled embies? what were your betas?
I would be ok with twins but triplets are so risky.
What do you think my chances are? Ghost?
My u/s is 2/19

That's a multiple. Okay, the probability of a multiple is very high.

I strongly suspect all 3 implanted. Need the ultrasound to know for sure.

One concern when the hCG rises very rapidly is a molar pregnancy. But those are very, very rare.
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.

My beta #s were 11dp3dt - 567, 13dp3dt - 1302, and 15dp3dt - 3016. We had also put three back because we only had 4 eggs retrieved that cycle and my last cycle had ended in a chemical, so they recommended putting back what we had at the 3 day point. I ended up pregnant with triplets but we lost one around 7.5 weeks, so I am now 22.5 weeks along with a set of boy/girl twins :)

Statsgoddess - thanks for responding. Congrats on your twins.!!! sorry for the loss of 1.
Do you remember how many cells your embies were?
Mine were 2 4 celled and 1 6 celled. Also, do you count the day of transfer as day 1? I was counting the next day as day 1 after transfer, but maybe I am doing it wrong..
my transfer was on 1/25 and my 1st beta was on 2/5. So is that 11days or 12 days pt?

Rae37 - I am also very curious about high betas. Mine were 12dpt6dt - 1580 and 15dpt6dt - 4337. We are actually very cool with the idea of twins because we have one DS and would be done. We had two PGD tested embryos transferred that were rated very well if I recall. Now I am freaking at the thought that one of them could have split and it could be triplets. On the flip side like Kim14, I have heard of a couple of people that had very high betas and only a singleton. You can read into the numbers a zillion ways but only the u/s will tell.

My u/s is 2/22 Good luck with yours.

Ashleyncsu77- Just read your post that you had PGD and now you are preggo! That's awesome! Congrats. I'm in my 2ww...we transferred two 5BB (6 being text book perfect) embies on Monday. We were in a PGD study so we know they were choromosomally normal. I'm dying for Beta day to get here (16th)! Your story gives me more positive engergy! Without PGD, I felt like we were playing russian roulette with transferring normal embies. They biopsied 9 blasts on day 5...tested all 24 chormosomes... and of those, only 3 were normal. I'm 39 so I'm not shocked...but it puts into perspective in a REAL way why it takes older women longer to have a healthy baby! I'm soooo grateful for PGD!

I'm praying for twins for you! I want the same...cause we'd be done!
xoxo

Rae - I believe we put back an 8 cell, a 7 cell, and a 6 cell. I was couting the next day as 1dpt as well. I can't wait to find out how many you are having! Thanks for your condolances. We were sad with the early loss of one of course, but the health risks are SO much lower with two, and we know that is better for all of us that it has worked out the way it has.

Inquiring minds want to know. Make sure you keep us posted when you have your u/s. Good Luck!! I am guessing twins. don't think triplets. Would love to show this to the SIRM Dr.s that believe a 4cell embie on day 3 is not a viable embryo.
