Donations

Post by Mags »

Dh and I have decided that Amelia and Jacob are a blessing enough, and getting twins was such luck, we are going to donate our 5 embies to other couples, I just want to wish the little embies luck and hope that they can give someone else the joy and happiness we feel every day.

Please let them grow!!!

Thats very kind, we are thinking the same thing, I have 4 left, but they have advised me to wait untill babys is born....5 weeks to go :?
I just feel that we are lucky to get this far, and my nerves wont take any more having lost 3 before this so if all goes well I think we will do the same.
Do you know about the law changing for donors, as my dh is a little worried about if we do it annonomosly (sp) that they can contact us at a later date ???? :?

How are you ????? :) :) have you heard from Nikola ?
We had a lovley time in Devon you must take Dagny up on her offer, we stayed at North Huish about 17 miles from Plymouth it was beautiful and very restful, defo going back with baby.

Val wants to send a pressy from usa to Nikola for the twins and is after some ideas...!!!!! :? :? do you have any
I did think of a Tea shirt with THING 1 AND THING 2 on like the movie Cat In The Hat which I have been to see and is great, but I was not sure if Nikola would be offendeded about the twins being call Thing 1 & Thing 2

I feel like a big fat bloaty at the mo  , and my God I woke up with  SOMEONE ELES FEET....  They look like big fat chipolaters, my dh thinks its quite funny as my feet have always been long and skinny, they really do look like they are not mine..hope they come back soon.

Anyway enought waffle....off to make the dinner
Take care and send my love to Nikola

Glad you had a nice holiday - did you not see any nice feet to buy? Nik texted me today and is calling tomorrow - she is out of hospital and is up there every day with the girls! from morning till night!
RE pressies - don;t think she would be offended - any clothes would be lovely tell Val - anything not able to get here - or maybe two little hats? as the weather seems to improve. I have just bought them two little vests with "I dribble for Leeds FC" on them - but am getting some other things.
Nik will be thrilled to get anything! RE colours - she is not in to girly pink- I am the same!
Send Val my love - will send Nik yours and keep in touch. Off to sit in the garden and top up the tan! Not long for you know- can;t believe it - I am off to the midwife this pm and then scan on thursday - starting to feel large!

Hi Mags

We are doing the same and we start with our first appt. tomorrow. It is very scary but we dont want them disposed of as we like you feel truly blessed with our Callum and Maddi.

I have heard that the law is changing and do feel very concerned but we don't know for sure the ins and outs.

How far down the line are you with it?

Hello to the rest of you and hope your all doing well!!!

Love
Emma

Emma (sorry MAgs just crashing again!!!) wanted to say hi and glad all ok with you. Not sure how the law is changing but think you are both doing wonderful things - we are lucky in that we do not need donors (in the sense you call IVF lucky but you all understand) and I think people like Traci deserve all the chances they can have and people like you and Mags give them that.
It is wonderful to see you both happy with your twins and SArah's post this week too - oh and Louise - how lovely all these twin mummies.
Can't wait?
Love

Emma
we are having all our bloods taken next weeks.

The HFEA have said that hey are changing regulations regading the anonymity of donors, anyone donating from April 2005 will donate on a basis that their name can be given out when the child reaches 18. anyone donating now has the choice. Dh and I have said that we will give our identities.

I don't the embies as mine, I see the women who carries them as the mother, but I understand what is like looking for a blood parent (adoption), it is like fitting a jigsaw together, you just have to know!!

Traci - I really hope this happens for you and all others waiting for donors

Hi Mags

Just got back from Kings after having our chat with the counsellor and having our blood tests.

I am definetly more positive now and you are right that as from next april all donating of embroyos the biological "parents" will have to be held on file for when a child is 18 they then have the right to now there biological past. This is something I would have put on file now though because I believe in the "right".
One thing I have asked for but not sure if this is going to be accepted or not, is that I would like to know whether out of my six left that a live birth has taken place and my reason for this is that I would like to have that final and total satisfaction of knowing that we have given that chance to a deserving couple who I know would be as happy and lucky as we have been with ours. I wouldn't want to know how many or even the sex but just that one thing is all I need!!!!

We now have to wait for the blood tests results (all four of them) and then we arrange a final meeting to sign consent forms etc.

Good luck for next week!

Love
Emma
