Winter Cycle Friends 2009/2010 - Everyone Welcome!

Post by katie99 »

Hi -
Since it took me so long to finally get here  I thought it would be nice to not lose out on my ivf sisters company just because one is due in a different month than the other. I just got my BFP 2/12. So far I've had two betas 65 at 8dp5dt then 153 at 11dp5dt. I'm having a really early u/s next week on 2/23, which I know is too early to see a HB yet, so as long as my RE says everything is ok - I'll be fine with that for now. I still cant believe that I'm actually pregnant! It still feels like a dream
I'm nervous, but so excited too. I look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new ones also! Good luck to us all!

SO happy to see you on this side of the boards, katie!! Yay for steadily rising betas! Love the ticker, by the way...

I think that this board's a great idea to keep in touch with more than just one month's worth of BFP friends - unfortunately, I don't think that my September 7th EDD qualifies as 'winter' by any stretch of the imagination :( .

Hi Hazel -

It sure is nice to be over here - finally! For a while there I wasnt sure I would ever get pregnant (wow i'm still not used to that word! )
Are you kidding me? I would be honored for you to be over here! It does say everyone welcome! You are such a breath of fresh air, I would miss you terribly to have to keep visiting back and forth anyway... Hmmm.... maybe Fall/ Winter? What do you think? - xoxo

Cheeky I know - its kind of surreal to me. If I stop and think 'oh, I'm pregnant" its like I still cant wrap my haed around it! I've missed you! I know you're thinking of a FET soon, but do you have an idea as to when yet? Oh, yes! I left this as open ended as I could! I'm hoping for all lost lost friends to show up - I hope so, it does seem more quiet over here. Not to be pushy - but TRY SOON PLEASE!! lots of love to you, my friend! - xoxo

Love the new name for the thread, Katie! Count me in as a fully paid up member, please!!

I know what you mean about things being slower on this side of the boards, hopefully though if we can get lots of our cycle buddy friends from Nov/Dec and Jan/Feb on one thread it will be more lively (hint, hint, anyone who's reading this!!)!

I get you about it all feeling totally surreal. Don't worry, that feeling doesn't change as you get further along. I think it has to do with how long it takes us to get to this point and all that we have to go through - I'm sure I'll still be saying 'wait, can I really be pregnant?' even as I go into labour!!

For anyone joining this thread who doesn't already know me, DH and I had been TTC for 4+ years - we had 12 months of Clomid, 4 BFN IUI's, one BFN fresh IVF cycle last April, one cancelled FET last July (we found out on the day of transfer that our frosties didn't survive the thaw), and our wonderful BFP this December with one day 5 embryo transferred. My clinic doesn't do betas, so I did a positive HPT on New Year's Day (yay!) and then the first time my clinic saw me was at 7weeks2days when we had a scan which showed a sac and a 10.9mm 'blob' with a heartbeat. And that's the last time I saw anyone. We have a nuchal scan tomorrow afternoon at a nearby hospital (when I will be 11weeks3days) which will also check that everything is on course and (praying that it is!) we will then start telling people our news. Getting excited but also very nervous!

Hi ladies! I'm here! Officially a member of the preggo club! hehehe. So my second beta was 161! wooo whoo. So happy and relieved. Next step is ultrasound on next Friday, Feb 26th to see the litte precious blob. hehehee

It really is surreal to keep reminding myself that I'm pregnant. I don't think I have ever felt this happy. It's amazing. Hey is anyone exercising? My nurse said all I could do right now is moderately walk. I want to do some toning stuff on my arms and legs...nothing intense, but I just miss exercising so much. I realized today that I'm not going to be back into my "skinny" jeans for quite a while since those were put away during the stimming process. hehehee Not a bad trade off...skinny jeans for a baby! hehehe

I'm feeling tired after a day with my girlfriend for lunch. I think I need a quick nap. I'm looking forward to being on this board through our pregnancies. It'll not only be fun, but a great resource for all of us.

Hi Mommas!

Hazel - I'm so excited hear about your scan. I agree with Katie...I bet it will be looking more like a baby and less like a cute little 'blob'! How exciting!!!

I am so happy to be on this board, but I still feel very nervous. Does this ever go away? I'm hoping after the first tri I will relax a little bit and enjoy my pregnancy. That still sounds crazy...my pregnancy! 8) I look forward to sharing our experiences together as we progress into motherhood.

Much love!

Hi everyone -

So has the news been sinking in yet? It's so hard to reel yourself back in, isnt it? I had a little slip and told a close friend today, I know its waaaaay too early, but she'a a nurse too (isnt that a loophole? ha ha ) I kinda had to, I felt like all this happiness was bursting out of me, plus its so hard to feel like you're lying when friends say "whats new"? I mean what do you say to that? "oh, nothing"? When you want to yell it from the rooftops, right?

Ok girls, I have a question - I really like my GYN, but she has privelleges at only one hospital, which my ex-SIL works as of course an L&D nurse - ugh!
So to keep the OB/GYN that I trust, I run the risk of getting my ex- SIL (not a nice woman BTW) as my delivery nurse??!!!! ACK!!! I guess it doesnt really matter, but she IS gossipy and I wouldnt be surprised at her breaking the HIPPA laws and pulling up my chart. Bottom line - I really dislike the idea of my IFV history ending up as dinner gossip. Now I'm suppossed to bring my OB info to my u/s on Tues so my RE can forward my records. I'm not sure what to do....

Hazel You're sort of quiet today. Hope you're feeling good. How is the m/s today? I'm so glad to hear that the accupuncture has been helping. Still nothing for me, but the way you describe it - I'm hoping to just get through it quickly! I'm so excited about your scan!!! :D

Karen Hooray for a great second beta! Its still hard to believe it, maybe after the first u/s it will seem more real? I know you're dying to excercise, but the first trimester is called the scarymester for a reason. I would listen to your nurse. I mean look how much we all went through to get here - why take a chance?

Jacqueline So nice to be here, isnt it? oooh girl, I'm super nervous also! Its kind of like I'm so excited to finally be pregnant that I'm terrified it will be taken away and I'll have to go back to endless cycling again - EEK!

Roshaunda I'm so glad you came over here! You just take all the naps you need to Mama! I hope those boys are still doing all the heavy chores around the house for you! I'm dying to hear about your scan too! :D

Dilly's girl aww, thank you honey! That was very sweet of you! Good luck to you and your DH also!! :D

hugs & prayers for us all - xoxo

I'm having a pretty crappy day - I'm moody and my boobs hurt like hell! I'm not 'connecting' to this pregnancy yet because I haven't seen the heartbeat. Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled with my bfp! I am just extremely tired and wishing I could fast forward to the ultrasound so I can know which way to let my emotions run. Blah. Not like me to be anything but happy go lucky. I guess I'm allowed to have my days?
