2 sacs

hello everyone,
I'm 6wks 2days pregnant. last wednesday I had an u/s and the dr saw 2 sac BUT one was was clear the other one was kind of vague. the dr wants me to come back next wednesday to do another u/s. The other sac was smaller and the color was lighter. Can someone tell me what that means? Thank you for your help.

I assume you had two or more embryos transferred? If you end up pregnant with twins, there will be one baby per sac. Your RE wants to see you back again on Wednesday to find the heartbeat(s) in the sac(s). I think the heart starts beating somewhere between 6 and 7 weeks, but of course some embryos develop more quickly and some more slowly - it doesn't mean that there's a problem with the pregnancy. I have a friend who saw two sacs at her 7 week + scan, but only one had a heartbeat (so she assumed she was pregnant with one) - lo and behold at 12 weeks there was a baby in each sac, and she's just had gorgeous twin boys. So try not to worry, the fact that one sac was more vague probably just means that it's developing a few days more slowly. Good luck for Wednesday, let us know how you get on.

hjw- so there is a possibility I could be pregnant with twins? I was happy when the dr said they see two but when he said one wasn't as clear as the other one I started to get worried. One sac was round and dark and the other one was very light and it wasn't round. (I hope this makes sense)
Also my beta numbers looks like I'm pregnant with one. It's not high like I could be pregnant with twins.

swsj- I still think it's a possibility. A second sac might be hard to make out because of placement in the uterus too or even the position of the uterus itself. Maybe it's in a spot that the probe can't pick it up as well as the first sac or maybe it's behind the first sac. Beta numbers are never a sure thing and really only the next ultrasound will tell. I agree with JG_379, it could be twins. There's no way to know for sure until you get to the point where you can see the heart(s) beating, which will be somewhere between 6 and 7 weeks depending on how quickly things develop. I'm not sure whether one sac being round means anything, mine was a weird uneven oblong shape at 7wks2days. Try and be patient until Wednesday, and make sure you let us know how you get on.
