Kala, I hope you are doing better now. And your food poisoning/stomach bug is behind you. I think I have also read that your dehydration is what would be of concern. And your baby sounds like she is doing just fine.

Lisa, Really cool that you are having a boy and that your family is happy with the baby being a boy!!

We are also having a boy!!! :)

Morul-COngrats!!! A baby boy....that is so exciting!

I am finally feeling better. It took a few days before I could eat a real meal again. I thought I lost weight over the weekend, but when I weighed myself today I was at 180. That means I gained 8 lbs total. My doc will be so happy. Everything else is great...DH is busy preparing for the paralympics in Vancouver. I will let you know what channels it will be aired on.

Did anyone else register for baby furniture? I kinda felt like it was extravagant...but we dont have any hand me downs and maybe people want to go in on a big gift.

Kala, good to hear you are feeling better now. Anything during pregnancy just makes us so paranoid! I always wonder if its the same for people who get pregnant without any problems or if its just pregnancy in general.

So does your husband compete in the paraolympics?? Thats really cool - I dont know anybody who participates in the olympics :) Good luck to him. Do let us know when it airs.

Your weight gain sounds much better than mine! I have already gained about 15 pounds, yikes! I started out at 112 and now I am already at 127!!! But I am not really starving myself because of the weight gain :) Just made a whole batch of brownies yesterday !!

No registry here. :( But I have a nephew and my sister will be sending some stuff but she is in California and I am in WA, so it wont be furniture for sure.

Hi Sarah(Kala): I am so glad you are feeling better! We got our crib and a dresser from my sister in-law and while I would love to have "NEW" I am hoping to save a little here and be able to buy a really nice stroller and a couple of carseats, (OH and a bunch of really cute clothes). I will be buying a new mattress for the crib. I did a small registry at Target, my family is pushing me to give into the baby shower idea. I am thinking a couples shower since this is my husbands first child and maybe doing it with a cookout sometime at the end of May. How exciting for your husband, please do keep us posted on the airing date. Where did you register?...I really like Pottery Barn Kids, they have some great things but also a little on the pricey side, so we will see, I do not want to seem greedy.

Hi Mona(Morul): CONGRATS on the BOY! Is this your first child? I cannot remember the last time I weighed 112 LBS  but I am pretty sure when you are that small it comes on much quicker. At my appointment last week I was told I had gained a total of 2.4 LBS so far. I am around the 140 mark. I am certain the Gestational Diabetes diet has everything to do with that. I lost quite a bit at first, but my belly is nice and round and I am feeling tons of movement. Have a Brownie for me, PLEASE!

Hi Lisa: I hope you are having a GREAT time on your vacation, looking forward to some stories when you return. So glad the Boy is a BOY! Congrats to you and your family.

Hi Becky (Bjones): Congrats on atleast one girl! Please keep us posted on the other. I always thought it would be cool to have a boy and a girl, but I guess It is more stuff to buy and since you already have twin boys, twin girls seems perfect! Hope you are doing well.

Hi Courtney (fkm7783) How neat that you are going to be surprised. I also have a friend due in May who is doing the same. They have painted the nursery in a nice pale yellow and decorated in an Owl theme, it is very cute. I just cannot stand not knowing, I do not know how you do it. How are you feeling, has the belly started to pop out yet, I know last time you thought you just looked fat, I bet that is not the case any longer. :)

I think I covered everybody! I am so exicited that we are half way there. I am starting to feel like this is really happening! So very happy for all of us!

Iamhopeful-I don't know how you are able to keep up with everybody well enough to respond to each of us.

To answer your question, I had protein in my urine (which is a symprom of pre-eclampsia) when I went to the doctor last Friday. Since I had Pre-Eclampsia and pulmonary edema with my first set of twins, I have been taken out of work and told to rest as much as I can. I am not on bed rest yet, so it hasn't been too bad.

I am hoping that I can keep my pre-eclampsia under control long enough to have viable babies. I am trying my best to not think about it. I have stopped looking for baby names and I have stopped looking at baby stuff. Just hoping I make it to 26 weeks right now so the babies will be viable. That is the first milestone. From there, I will be shooting for 29 weeks and then 30 weeks. Since my first set of twins were born at 29.5 weeks, I am thinking that if we make it that far again that the babies will be fine in the long run.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Oh Becky, I am sorry sorry to hear your news, but keep your chin up and do what your doing by setting small milestones and taking it one step at a time. Sounds like you have been down this road before and all came out well in the end, no reason to think this time will be any different. You hang in there, keep resting, keep us company and think positive thoughts. I will be praying for you and your family. Those boys need some little sisters to drive them crazy

Becky, sorry to hear about your pre-eclampsia but you are doing the right things and taking the right steps. Will say a prayer for you and your babies. Like I amhopeful said, with your previous positive experience with the pre-eclampsia, there is no reason to not be positive this time also.

Iamhopeful - Gestational Diabetes Diet! That would take a lot of will power for me. :) I have my diabetes test next month and I am hoping there isnt any issue. But, how do you know you have gestational diabetes already? I thought they test in the 6th month.. maybe just the clinic I go to has that timeline.

Hey Mo,

The OBGYN I started out with initially tests early as well as later just in case. I also have a history of Diabetes in my family and have delivered some BIG babies in the past, (biggest 10LBS 2OZ) YIKES! Sure enough I failed the initial test and the 3 hour test also :( So off to the High-risk specialist we went. SO far I have been able to control it with Diet, but it is no fun! It is teaching me and my family how to eat healthier and I treat myself now and then to stay sane. There is a good chance by the 3rd trimester I will begin insulin shots, but we are all pro's at shots, so that does not worry me. I am just really hoping it goes away after the baby is born and I am not suck with it for the rest of my life.

How are you doing? Thinking of cute little boys names? We loved the name Miles for a little boy and was just sure that we would name our new little guy that....now that we know HE is a SHE, we thought of Miley...but I just can't get past the Hannah Montana (Miley Cirus) thing!

Have a great weekend!

Iamhopeful and Mo - GREAT NEWS today at the OB. I didn't have any protein in my urine today, so either the extra rest that I have been getting or all of the water that I have been drinking to flush myself out worked. I go to see the high risk doc on
Tuesday, so I will see what he has to say about the whole thing.

I bought yarn on my way home from the doctor's office to make baby blankets. We are 100% sure Baby A is a girl, and 90% sure that Baby B is also a GIRL!!!!! Twin GIRLS!!! That will at least give me something to do all day everyday...knitting blankets.

Now we are rolling again! It's nice to hear from everyone.
Becky-congrats on the baby girls! Maybe I should make a blanket too...Im bored!
Julie-Im doing great! It is so much fun to watch my belly grow and feel her kicking. Im sooooo anxious to start nesting and get her room ready....I cant wait!!

Is anybody else in awww of the absolute miracle it is that we are pregnant!?!? I tell people about it and it always brings tears to my eyes. When I think about my baby girl, I think she is a fighter because out of three little embies, she was the only one to dig in to my uterus and stick! She rocks! I tell my girlfriends this and I dont think they really understand. We are some very blessed ladies :)

bjones, Thats great news!! Twin boys and now twin girls - how cool is that! Baby blankets are sooo cute! I am sure you will have fun knitting something for your babies. I made a bunch of baby blankets for my nephew that I am probably going to end up taking from my sister. :) Never knitted one though.

Iamhopeful - Wow, 10 pound baby!! You go, girl! I can imagine what a pain the diet must be but we do what we have to do to keep the babies well. So its all worth it. Ohh, Miley is such a sweet name and its too bad Hannah Montana is ruining it for you. :) No, DH and I are not really thinking of baby names or getting setup with baby gear. I think we are both waiting for the third trimester before we will allow ourselves to think of such things. But I did go shopping for new clothes for myself over the weekend. That was fun.

Kala, thanks for reminding us how blessed we are. It is truly a miracle, isnt it? I am still in disbelief sometimes that it actually worked and there is baby growing in there.

Hey, everyone! I'm back. I feel like I missed so much.

Sounds like all are doing well out there. Even those of you with some complications arising have a handle on things. There are days I wish I could be on bedrest, haha! But I know I would make it about a day at the most and be done with that whole notion.

So what is new with me? We went to Disney World on vacation. It was a great time. I am very glad we did before the baby. We want to go back, but the not until the new baby is about 4. I was thankful I did not need the stroller and the diaper bag for now. I had to watch what I rode on and obviously avoided roller coasters and stuff like that. We got in one line for little cars, kind of like bumper cars, but not really to bump around in, and then realized the sign said no PG women. So I had to skip that one once we go to our turn . Luckily DH and both kids were able to ride together. The next day we went to the Animal Kingdom . My friend said we had to do the Safari ride so we did. Since we didn't wait long, I didn't see any signs. I should have noticed when I boarded that they had us put our belongings in attached bag areas so they wouldn't fly out. DUH!! So anyway we are riding in the back seat of this vehicle that is driving along this muddy trail, bouncing like crazy! The at the end they speed in the thing for an exciting ride, I guess. My DH and I were freaking out. The bumping was horrible. He was like this is 1000X worse than the car ride I skipped. So after I got off, I checked and sure enough there was a sign that PG women not ride it. I thought it was going to be just looking at animals, not a crazy ride. But all seems fine. No pain, no bleeding and the baby is still busy moving around. But I was crazy worried for a few days there. After all we went through to have this baby, I was thinking how horrible it would be if a crazy mistake cost us the baby.

We did get some new baby furniture. We are buying everything ourselves since it is not our first baby and there is no shower. Both our DD's had hand-me-down furniture we have since replaced, so this time we are just buying a whole new set with convertible crib to use as he grows. We went to pick it up last Sunday and everything was so huge, we couldn't fit it in our minivan and SUV. So now it is being delivered next week. I am so excited. Now our next job is cleaning out the girl's clothes in our storage area and passing it out to my friends with little girls. It will be great to have so much room in there. I have a lot of people telling my they have boy clothes for me. Hopefully that will be true, because I LOVE hand-me-downs.

It was good to read again what you all have been up to!

Welcome back Lisa! Sounds like a very nice and interesting trip, I am glad you were able to enjoy this special trip with your 2 DD before their brother arrives.

My DD are a little hestiant to be too excited about a new baby in the house. I hope they come around once their new little sister arrives.

Hi Becky - How are you feeling/doing? Still working away on those blankets I hope :D

Hi Sarah - Did your husband compete in the Paraolympics? How did he do? How are you feeling?

Hi Mona - Whats up with you???

We had a fetal echo cardiogram done and everything turned out good. No signs for any concerns. It was great to see our little girls again, my how she is growing and boy is she a squirmmer! I feel like I have an octopus inside me! 3rd trimester is just around the corners ladies! Truely a blessing in deed.
