Hey girls~ Just wanted to pop in and say hi! Still not really much to update. We have our post cycle consult with my RE today. I have a laundry list of ?'s! I am hoping he has optomistic news for us but I suspect he will not. I will update you on what he says. We probably will not make a decision on how we will proceed until after our second opinion appointment on 3/8/10. In the meantime we have been doing a lot of research on adoption...yikes.....its more stressful and $$ than IVF!!!!

Hello all happy Wendesday, it was 2 degrees here in Kansas this am. I am on day 3 of 11 hour days due to our other nurse being on vacation. I HATE HIM... love him usually but hate hime this week. He is in Belize... where its warm. They forgot to order help for me...hahahaha forgot yea right. The plan is BCP till about the 12th and if we look good after SnS then stims antagonist protocol, (ganarelix) looking at ER ET around the 22nd on March. I aam really feeling good about this cycle, I am way more informed and now know the right questions to ask...I think. To all the previous board members you all know how wonderful this site is (and addictive) and to all the newbies I would like to say welcome, this board will become a place of comfort and strength for you. All the books I have read, suggest that you have 1 dedicated ivf friend, someone that you can count on to check on you and listen to your bitches and gripes as there will be alot, esp when on stims. I tried that, did not work, though well meaning she has her own busy life too. My comfort and support came from this board. Thank you all.

I am not above trying crazy things and ideas to gaurentee a positive BFP outcome Has anyone heard of any weird strange ways (SAFE) to increase fertility, implantation ect.
I will go first, Heard this last night on the baby channel...Eating yams during ovulation will increase your chances of multiples. Does that mean maybe eating yams during stims may produce more eggs????? hum
Thought this might be fun as I am sure many of you have heard wives tales. Besides I LOVE yams !!

Well, I am back from Vegas. We had a great time. Didn't do a lot of gambeling but still we had fun. I just feel like the wind has been knocked out of my sails. My DH really wants to try for the FET but I have no PMA left. I feel like it will just fail. I feel like I was blessed with my one chance and that somehow I blew it. I know this isn't rational but you can't help how you feel. I had to go to RE's office for more bloodwork today and it totally depressed me. My beta is still not back to 0 yet. I don't know how people go through this time and again. I just don't know. I want a baby. I want to give this gift to my DH but right now my heart isn't in it. I have been logging in now and then but I can't really get back into the groove of things. I hate feeling this way. For those of you who have miscarried before, how do you get back into the flow of things? How do you get back to bat and try for another baby?

miyaya-We looked at adoption as well because we had 2 canceled cycles and no good news from RE. I think it is a wonderful route (and we might go there soon) but you are right-lots of decisions, time, money, and emotional rollercoaster!! My DH and I feel differently on some very big issues-open vs. closed, international vs. domestic. Our wacky solution was to try donor eggs first. We'll see how it goes-it might all lead us to adoption. I feel like everything has happened to open another door/decision that we hadn't considered before. I wish you best of luck-such a hard journey that we have to go through to realize our dreams!!

misocial-Lovin' this Kansas weather!!! I have begged my DH to move to Florida-I am so over the cold!

samantha-I am so sorry and I can't imagine how hard it is for you right now. We endure all these heartaches hoping for our miracle somewhere down the road. Give yourself time and permission to be sad/upset/down and know that others completely understand you. You will find the strength and come up with how to continue this journey in the way that is right for you when it's time. We'll hold you up when you can't do it! Hugs to you!

AFM-I have to wait patiently for Friday's appt. I find it weird that I am so close to ET and have no clue how things are going. I wish I could get a "report" of how my donor is doing. I will be the most patient person at the end of this process!

bei No I haven't been sick because of BCP I have had the stomach flu and now a respitory infection. I didn't do acupuncture so I'm not sure when to start it, but I've heard good things about it. I hope your SnS goes well and I'm glad you will be starting stims soon.

tameka94 Glad you got to start your Lupron and thank you for the tip on watching the youtube videos. I will be starting mine on Tues and am a little nervous on how to give the injections so I will check those out.

misocial My dear cycle buddy you have had a rollercoaster since I've read last. First I can't believe that no one knew why you were having BW done and whether you'd be starting BCP. That would have made me so mad I am glad that you finally got a call with good news and will be starting them. I was a little worried that we wouldn't be on the same schedule, but see that we are still both on for ER around 3/22. I can't wait we are finally getting close. Keep up that PMA my IVF sister.

Neffi211 Welcome and wow sound like you are quite the IVF pro at this point. I am praying that your tests will come back normal and your two little frosties will result in a BFP for you and your DH.

latrell22 Welcome also and I am sorry to hear your last cycle was canceled. I hope the new dosages work well for you.

VictorianAZ Keep us posted on your Friday apt. I was also prescribed Repronex but not sure what it is for or when I will be using it. I can't wait for my next apt on Tues so I can get more clarification on some of this stuff. Hope that Lupron continues to treat you well.

Miyaya A lady at my DH's work went through failed IUIs and IVFs cycles and ended up adopting a baby. Their family is so very happy now. I will pray that your second opinion apt goes well, but if you decide to adopt I know that you guys will be happy either way.

AFM - Whew! that was a lot of catching up to do. I'm glad our board has grown and hope it keeps going. I am both nervous/excited for my apt on Tues. I guess they will be doing a SnS and then showing me how to give the Lupron injections. With my respitory infection I have been on antibiotics and I know that those can make BCP less efficent. Does anyone think this will cause problems with me being suppressed enough? I missed you all and am sending happy, positive vibes out to everyone - TERESA

samgarkay - glad you had a good time in Vegas. i had a chemical pregnancy with IVF 1 and I really didn't feel like I could move on (mentally) until the beta was zeroed out and I bled. i think you just take the time you need to grieve and when you're ready, you're ready. ((((hugs))))

misocial - i've never heard of yams being good, pineapples yes (though i am skeptical ). one of the boards here lots of ladies seemed to have Chinese food on their ET day...i can't remember how many BFPs came of it though.

miyaya - hope you get all your questions answered at both doctors appointments. it sucks this isn't easier!

heekinje - ooo, your ER is really soon. you must be super bloated. do you know for sure you are doing a Day 3 transfer?

dodo928 - hope you feel better soon! good thing you and your donor can just do another BCP cycle. spring is coming and hopefully helps with your PMA. i know it will help mine.

VictorianAZ - i'm also starting stims (fingers crossed) this week. my protocol says ER will be 3/12, but if this cycle is anything like my last i'll be doing my ER around the same time as you.

Bei - how is the lupron going? Any side effects yet? Are you doing 10 units a day? My clinic has us do out injections in the PM instead of the AM. I heard it can make you tired if you do it in the AM - just some food for thought.

Supergenius - Yes, I am feeling a bit bloated. My DD sat on my waist this morning and i nearly threw her off it hurt so much. I forgot how painful this can get. Good luck with your Sns tomorrow - hopefully all is quiet!!

hopeforbabies - Your lupron injections will be snap in no time. Watching a video really does help. You'll be doing stims before you know it! I hope you are feeling better soon. Resp. infections are not fun and can take a while to resolve themselves. You should talk to your RE about your antibiotics. I'm not sure if they will make your BCP weaker or not but you should tell your RE about anything your taking.

rayofsunshine - that must be really hard wondering how the person who is carrying your eggs is doing with stims! I'm sure she is doing just fine and you'll be PUPO in no time! I'll be thinking of you this coming week! We are very close on our dates!

samgarkay- I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I have never had a miscariage and have no idea what it feels like but I can imagine that feelings of failure and massive disappointment and sadness would be feelings I would have as well. The important thing is to give yourself a chance to feel everything and process it. If you don't feel up to a FET right now, then don't do it. You will know when you are ready. When grieving a loss, time is the only remedy. Give yourself plenty of time - there's no reason to rush through these feelings. Your frosties will be there waiting for you when you are ready and we will be here to help you get there.

misocial - they only weird safe thing I have heard of is the Pineapple and the chinese food on the day of ET. They both sound a little hokey to me but why not? I like pineapple and I like Chinese food! Did you do an antagonist protocol with your last cycle? I don't know much about antagonist - what is the benefit vs. a standard lupron protocol?

miyaya - how did your appt. with the RE go? Hopefully you got the answers you were looking for!

AFM - i have an appt. with RE tomorrow morning for BW and US. I'm hoping I will get the green light to trigger this weekend - either Sat. or Sunday. I stimmed for 9 days last time - if I respond the exact same way, I should trigger Sat. but they think I won't have ER til Tues. which puts me at Sunday for trigger. Because of that I had to order another 450 IU Gonal F pen for $360. I was tempted to order the pen tomorrow after my appt. to be sure I needed it but then I got nervous that the pen wouldn't make it here for some reason on Saturday and I'd be up a creek. So, if I don't need it, I'll just find it a good home on this board or somewhere on this site hopefully. We'll see!

I got rid of everyone in my house and plan on a weekend of self indulgence and pampering!!!!!! Massage and pedicure, Starbucks, sleeping late. Yes ladies, its just me and the dogs.... I am so excited I cant wait for this workday to be over.

So my SnS went well today - my RE got a new "toy" so I got a picture of my ultrasound, with the benign fibroid labeled and all. But (more importantly) I am cleared to start stimming tonight! Woot!

bei - I can't believe you don't get the results the same day for your SnS? WTF? That doctor better be calling you very, very soon!

misocial/Marci - a nice quiet weekend of pampering sounds great. I might take your lead - there's a new salon that just opened near me.

heekinje - hope your appt. went well this morning - grow follies grow! but how annoying to have to shell out all that $$$ for a couple more days of stimming! the same thing happened to me last cycle - i had most of a vial of gonal-f multidose go to waste.

Hello all! I am in a FABULOUS mood-thank you sunshine and "warmer" weather!!!!

Marci-Oooohhh, I'm so jealous! A pampering weekend all to yourself?! I get to go to a school bingo night (where I get to be a "celebrity bingo caller") Yee-haw! Then I get to clean my pigsty house before we have my in-laws on Saturday. Are you jealous of my lovely plans? I'm sure I am LOVING the "heat wave" though!!

Teresa-Are you feeling better? It seems like everyone has the hacking cough/head cold at school right now. Hopefully everything goes well on your Tues. appt. Funny, I don't know how antibiotics affect BCPs because I never took BCP until I started IVF.

Libby-I seriously question how patient I am because I really have moments... Woohoo for stims!! One day closer, right?

heekinje-We are getting so close-I really can't believe it yet. We can keep each other sane in the 2WW! I'm going to need it. My fingers are crossed for trigger this weekend!

AFM-I went to my SnS today-my lining was 13 and she said it was "perfect place for a baby" I'll take that! The nurse said the donor was doing really good but couldn't tell me any numbers yet. It still looks like Monday will still be ET. I really can't believe this-I have never made it to that point so this seems so surreal. A good kind of surreal! Have a great weekend-I'm sending everyone PMA in bucket loads!

so I got the result and they increse my lupron dose now i have to take 15 unit till monday i have b/w and u/s on monday and then they will tell me next step ,Anyways my dh 's mom's 60th birthday on 3/13 , i knew before i cant go but atleast dh can make it but now everything is messed up i dont know even he can able to make it and that makes me so upset and i m so sad right now becoz , this time i wanna to keep it quite and not to tell any family member . and my dh is so sweet he was like i wont go if i cant and we will tell them he is sick thats why we cant come , i was so sad i dont understand how i m gonna make it right . and what gonna happend now

Hello! Thanks for checking on me. My week has been crazy busy. I am doing pretty well with my lupron shots. I am noticing any side effects. I am on a low dose right now, 2cc. I got nervous the other day because AF did not arrive. I am usually 28 days on the dot. My nurse told that I am doing fine and they are waiting for me to bleed before my u/s. The nurse is aware that I don't want to be overwhelmed too much. I was told if I respond to meds well, my ER/ET may be the week of March 15. So honestly, I am not sure if I should be worried about information but I am on Lupron for 14 days. Follistim is one of the next meds I take. I should start stimming the week of March 8 if all goes to plan. I have been feeling tired and have been going to bed earlier. Hopefully, my schedule slows down and I can review this board daily before I fall asleep. I fall asleep by 9:30. My husband gave me my shot today. He does not like to do the shots! I am praying for everyone in this cycle! God bless everyone!
