Hi ladies - hope everyone is having a nice Friday evening. I am very tired and am heading up to bed soon so I'll do personals tomorrow. I just wanted to give a quick update on my appt. this morning. My lining was at a 13 which my RE said was great. I have 9 follies ranging from 12-16 cm on my right side and 4 follies ranging from 14-16 cm on my left side. RE is very happy with stimming and I'll be triggering on Sunday night at 8:45 with my transfer at 7:30 on Tuesday morning! I can't believe it's finally here - stimming went so fast!! I reviewed my embryo report from my last cycle with my nurse today and if things go the same as last time, I'm looking at a 3dt. Anyway, I'll check-in tomorrow. Night!

Hey ladies! Thank you for the warm welcome. I've been preparing speeches for my class. Public speaking is not me, but I'll get used to it! AF has not come yet!!! Does anyone know if the meds can affect AF coming??? It should have been here this past Tues and it's still not here. When should I become worrie?? I haven't been on BCPs and have been pretty regular before. This waiting is killing me!

Misocial - What does E2 stand for? I really can't believe how little I know about the tests that are done during this process and what levels they are looking for. I normally ask so many questions and do so much research when I get medical stuff done, but this is so overwhelming that I have pretty much done nothing. Same goes for the meds. No idea why I am taking what I am taking beyond the basic brakes and accelerator talk. Hope you are having a great weekend of relaxation and pamering!

Dodo928 - Probably good that you postponed your cycle if you were sick! I can't imagine being sick in addition to the general flu-ey feeling from these meds too. I hope you are feeling better now.

Bei - that sucks that you will be delayed a bit, but I am guessing the last thing your mother in law wants is for you to stress out about her birthday right now! I'm sure you'll figure out how to explain not being at her birthday. Hope you can get back to happy thoughts and no stress. (btw, i tried to not tell my mom that I am doing IVF, but it got to be so stressful that I finally just told her. I knew once things really got going that the last thing I wanted to worry about was trying to think of explanations and excuses.)

Hopeforbabies - My RE prescribed 10 days of antibiotics that I took at the same time as birth control pills. I think he prescribes the antibiotics at the very beginning with the BCPs to get rid of any infections that might be forming....my husband had to take them too. So, he must not have been worried abt the BCP not having their effect due to the antibiotics.

Tamkea 94 - glad to here that you don't have too many side effects on lupron. I only had one side effect....on Thursday I just broke down crying for a completely ridiculous, silly reason....talk about mood swing! At least it gave me a really good laugh the next day.

Drboots - Sorry to hear you had to cancel this cycle

heekinje - Good luck with the trigger tonight and your ET! You'll have to tell me about that shot. (that its not so bad and all that)

Supergenius - That's right, we will probably (hopefully) be doing ET/ER around the same time! How are the stimulation meds treating you so far?

Latrell22 - This may be way out there, but whenever my period was late my mom told me to stand with my lower back to the water in a hot shower. It's worked I think, but may be just a coincidence.

AFM - I had my appointment yesterday for u/s b/w and was told to start stim meds today. I am continuing the lupron at 1/2 of what I was doing before and adding repronex in the morning and follistim at night. 3 shots a day! I was so worried about putting the repronex shot into my leg this morning. I was concentrating so hard and had the needle in my leg when my towel fell off the door and I jumped...with my hand still on the syringe. Ouch. A few people mentioned chinese food and pinapple on day of transfer. I have never heard this...but am intrigued.....what kind of chinese food....P.F. Changs chinese food or authentic chinese food? I have heard that yams help with fertility. Last night I had my last drink, last sushi and last coffee. I decided that I probably didn't want to drink with the stimulation drugs and that I had to eventually stop coffee and sushi. So, why not do it all together. Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Hi Ladies,

I was on the message boards back in July/August with my 1st IVF. It resulted in a chemical pregnancy that was devastating. My DH and I have been taking a break and finally decided to get back on the horse. I have been lurking around the boards for the last month and a half debating if I wanted to join or just listen. I decided that I really need you all and need your support.

We have 3 frozen embies (they are 6 day blast) and have decided to transfer all of them back. One is of them was on the border of freeze quality so they froze it anyway. I am on the down hill of this FET. I am scheduled for my transfer on 3/5 and should have my 1st BETA on 3/13.

I am praying for all of you and keeping you all in my thoughts. These groups have helped keep me sain and it is so comforting to know that someone else is going through what I am. You all are some of the braves people that I know.

samgarkay: I’m so sorry sweetie. Words can’t express enough. I have experienced a loss before and it takes so much from you. After wanting it so badly, my pregnancy ended and I felt just lost. I wanted to know why, why I had to go through what I did and how was I going to ever get past it. Take it a day at a time and don’t blame yourself. Don’t make any decisions as to what you’re going to do right now, give it a little time to deal with your loss and what you’re feeling. It’s hard but you can make it hun. We are stronger than we know. After my loss, I was told that I couldn’t have children naturally anymore, so that was another blow, but here I am going at it a different way. I’ll be keeping you and DH in my prayers and if you need anything I’m here! (((((((((((((((((((((((BIG HUGS))))))))))))))))))))))))

VictoriainAZ - I think E2 is an estrogen level. Today was day 2 of the stims and just like last cycle, they just make me tired all the time. I guess my body is so busy growing follies, there's no more energy left!
No idea where the pineapple thing came from, but people ask about it on these boards all the time. The Chinese food thing was someone from one of the fall boards who got a BFP and happened to eat Chinese food for her ET (no idea whether it was "real" Chinese or Americanized Chinese).

latrell22 - AF , she is one mean b*tch. never around when you need her! I would definitely try Victoria's suggestion - I assume it's meant to relax things down below.

heekinje - wow, your numbers sound great! how many days have you been stimming?

bei - crossing my fingers that the 15 units Lupron works for you! i can totally empathize about your MIL's birthday - i had to skip a family wedding my last cycle and told everyone i was very sick. most of my family does not know we're doing IVF and i'd hope to keep it that way.

rayofsunshine/Sara - wow, 13 for your lining is great! i'm crossing my fingers and toes for you (and your donor) that everything goes peachy-keen for you on Monday.

AFM, I have had a killer headache all day. I blame the lack of caffeine and my decision to cut it out at the start of stims (rather than at ET like I did last cycle).

Hi Ladies! Thought I'd join in.

This is my third, and HOPEFULLY last IVF (I believe I've said that before...). We've been TTC 5 years (though to be fair, the last 10 months I was on BCP for Accutane and definitely NOT trying then...but super happy with my skin now!) I've had numbers all over the board as far as FSH, but generally they look good. Hubby has low count. We've been blessed with two super kids through adoption, and are looking to add one or two more to the mix.

The last two IVFs looked great. Did the antagonist protocol, had 20 eggs, most mature, 15 fertilized the first time, 13 the second, and we ended with low grade embryos (the second time we didn't even get blasts). Not sure why, doctors have no clue, but protocol is different this time. Now I am on Lupron (praying it won't be negative for me as it has been for some of you) and just started stims today. ER should be 3/10 and this time we WILL do a 3dt. I was supposed to do it last time, but I guess the on call doctor decided my embryos looked good enough to go to 5dt. Apparently it's after 3 days when they start to fall apart.

So that's my story!

well i just wanted to let you all know that i'm back from my half work/half vacation. i missed you all so much..it was driving me crazy to be without a computer for so long! i was checking in via the hotel computer in the lobby, but i didnt stay on long because it was right in the view of all the other guests, and i didnt want people peepin....its like i was looking at porn or something haha
anyway i have alot of reading and catching up to do so i will do personals as soon as i'm caught up!

Hi ladies! Hope all is well..just wanted to get on really quick with an update. Still no AF for me...it will be a week late tomorrow. I called my RE today and I will be going in tomorrow so that they can check things out. If he sees that everything is okay, I'm told he may give me some meds to make AF start. Interesting....we'll see what happens. I'll post the outcome tomorrow sometime.

heekinje Yay for triggering yesterday!!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you'll get lots of eggs tomorrow. Let us know how many and when they plan to transfer them back.

Marci How was your weekend? I hope it was very relaxing and you are all set to start those stims in a week or so.

bei My Stick n' Stir is scheduled for tomorrow @ 10:30. Let us know how yours goes too. Don't worry about your MIL I'm sure she would understand especially when you surprise her with a grandchild!

VictorianAZ Good to hear you don't think my BCP will be affected by the antibiotics. I will still mention it to my RE tomorrow but if they gave you antibiotics while you were taking BCP I'll probably be ok. Yay for you getting to start your stims! And WOW for quiting coffee, sushi, and drinks all at once. Quiting coffee was hard for me (I just drink tea now) but it didn't mix well with my Metformin. So where are you in AZ? I live in the Mesa area.

Miner_79 I'm glad you decided to join our board. How exciting that you will be PUPO in 4 days!

Laterall22 I am feeling much better & am sending AZ sunshine your way. I will start an AF dance for you and will hope that everything looks ok at your apt tomorrow. They usally have to give me Provera to get my AF to start if I'm not on anything else (ie BCP). Let us know what your RE decides.

babyluv Welcome! I hope that the new protocal works for you and your DH. My RE does 3dt because he doesn't like them being out of their mamas too long.

AFM - As I mentioned to Bei, I have a SnS tomorrow at 10:30 and then they will show me how to do my Lupron injections. I'm glad to hear from all of you that they are easy to give. I'm so excited to have finally reached this stage. My DH thinks I'm crazy for looking forward to stabbing myself with needles. Hope everyone is doing well ~TERESA

laterall22 The Provera is a set of 10 oral pills and then AF will start anywhere from 4-7 days after you finish the last pill. I know it seems like a long wait for something we normally don't like getting anyway. Maybe they will have something that will make it come faster. Either way I'll keep danceing the Hurry, hurry AF dance for you!
