ladies,
I'm not sure if I introduced my two sons or not. been kind of crazy w/ 2 preemies. don't have much time to do anything but feed & pump. had a tough recovery but I'm coming around the bend. The boys were born on Feb 8, 2010. Liam & Shane.
Boys are doing very well. Hope everyone is ok. thinking of you all & thanks for all your support & encouragement. Have not had a chance to venture through this new looking program.

Congrats on your boys Sabi! They were born at 36 weeks? I think that is awesome! My guys were born at that time too and they did just fine! I am sure you are super busy.
How much did your little guys weigh?
Sabi and Carolyn, hope you are both loving motherhood.
How is everyone else doing? Let us know your due dates so that we can cheer you on as they approach!

Afternoon ladies - OMG where has the last 2 weeks gone - in a blur of nappy changes, being a milk machine and best of all lots of cuddles from my gorgeous little boys!

Life is hectic to say the least but could not be happier if a little sleep deprived !!

How is everyone else - who is next to give birth ??

Come on egg heads !!

Thinking of you all

Hi Carolyn - glad to hear that all is going well with you! It is amazing how quickly the time passes and fast the littles one grow.

So, I am back to let you know that my husband told me the other day that he is on board to try again. The thing is that we are going to go back to the 'regular old' IVF with our eggs and sperm. No one ever explained why it couldn't work for us, so we are going to change clinics, get another opinion and see whether it works for us. At this point we haven't talked about going back to Prague - I am still in shock that he is okay with having another (or two) - but I am sure we'll discuss it down the road. I wonder if I am being selfish. I know he is agreeing to have more because he knows it means so much to me - that doesn't mean that he won't love any children we end up having as much as Evan and Audrey, but he has said for the past year that he is fine with the two we have. What do you guys think?

I can't believe that in a few months (or however long it takes to get back into the swing of things) I'll be back on the IVF boards.

Hope everyone is doing well! Let us know how you guys are doing!!!

Congrats to Sabi and Carolyn! I hope you are both enjoying the mommy life.

Kellym, wow! I can't believe you and your husband are thinking of heading down the IVF road ... good for you, that means your are truly enjoying parenthood!

AFM, I haven't been online lately as my back is hurting and my feet and legs are swollen. I spend about 90% of my day laying down on my left side. That said, my girls are both doing great. At 32 weeks they are weighing in at 3 lbs 15 oz and 3 lbs 14 oz. My doctor is thinking I'll make it to 38 weeks. I think the girls will be fine, it is my body that I'm concerned about ... I have/had a very small body frame to begin with and it is really starting to take it's toll. We'll see ... back to the couch to lay down!

Guess I'm next to deliver as ... I delivered on March 2nd. I started showing signs of preeclampsia on March 1st at my OB appointment, they found protein in my urine. My OB had blood tests done and was to call me back on March 2nd, however, my water broke while eating breakfast  My DH rushed home and off to the hospital we went. My blood pressure was very high so even though I had just eaten I was fast tracked to the operating room and had my c-section. I was then put in the critical care unit (where I still am as I get my own room  ) and put on magnesium. The first 48 hours I wasn't feeling too hot but I'm doing much better now.

As for my baby girls ... they are 7 weeks early but doing relatively well. We have Sophia who weighed 3 lbs 13 oz and Kaelyn who weighed 3 lbs 15 oz. Sophia has been making great progress each day and we are able to go to the NICU to feed and change her. They think she'll be in the NICU for about 2 weeks. Kaelyn is a little behind her sister. She still needs a ventilator to help her breath and is being fed by a feeding tube. We also found out today she has a duct that hasn't closed properly. This is apparently common in preemies, so they started her on the meds tonight to hopefully close the duct. The nurses in the NICU are absolutely wonderful and a great resource for new parents. I couldn't get out of the wheelchair to change Sophia's diaper the first day but with some nudging from my brother and the nurse my DH was walked through it ... I was very proud of him as it is scary changing their diaper when they are so small and have tubes connected to them :?

Sabi and Carolyn I hope you are both able to get some sleep and are enjoying being new mommies!

Everyone else, I hope you are doing well!

Congratulations Hopeful!! Sounds as though things were a bit bumpy at the start but you and the girls will feel stronger every day and soon you'll all be home enjoying your new routine.
The girls were great weights considering they were 7 weeks early!! That is fantastic.

Hi to everyone else! How are our other new mommies doing? Who is next to deliver?

We are great! Getting ready to take our trip to Florida which includes a 3 hour plane ride - hope it goes well. We are wondering how we are going to keep our two monkey's busy on the plane - perhaps movies on our phones, books, etc... I'd love for them to have a nap but I think that is unlikely. We'll see!

Thank you Carolyn and Kelly!

I believe all three of us are getting stronger by the day, sadly, I'll be the only one discharged tomorrow.

Kelly, I wish you luck on the plane ride. If you find the miracle that works to keep them occupied, please share  Have fun in Florida

Hi everyone,

I just had my third IVF failure. My RE has brought up donor eggs after my second IVF was canceled, so I am sure that he will raise the prospect again. I am very disappointed, but I think this will be the way to go. Can any of you tell me how you got to the donor egg on a psychological level? This feels like a very different way of having a child than I had ever imagined and I am not sure how I feel about this and what I think about this process. Many thanks!

I too was so shocked and had never imagined not having my own eggs as part of the equation... I however still wanted to have a family and rather than spending many more years and dollars trying that route, I decided a child is what I desperately wanted, and the genetic component just wasn't that important. When it finally happened and I found out I was pregnant with twins, I never looked back. And now, a few years later I can honestly say I would not trade them for my own genetic package in a million years, because they are already mine - 100% (ok, 50% dh's) . When you plan your cycle and create the opportunity (with God's blessing of course) for your family to happen, the source of the eggs doesn't matter. Then when you see these little beings on the ultrasound monitor; then you feel them moving about and you get to know their personalities; you just know they are meant to be yours - no matter from where they came; what really matters is from where they grew and from where they shall flourish - it is truly amazing...
