gi - that sucks that they don't check you. I at least get one beta and US from my RE. Maybe you can cheat like I did and go to a regular doctor and try to get something out of them? I even went as far as going to the ER to get some info to make me feel better. It worked.. I feel much better. lol I guess there are different protocols from doc to doc, state to state and country to country. Your country is so beautiful. I was following Hill of Tara for a while, I think they decided to biuld the highway through it? Just out of curiousity, were you for or against it? I know, off mommy topic, but feel free to pm me if you prefer. :)

Ronda - I found that the replacement of frozen blasts option (the last one) matched my RE's given due date for my FET cycle. I had 5 day blasts. I originally did the lmp one and it turned out to be 3 days off after I called and talked to my RE office. If you would like to know for sure right now, I suggest you go ahead and call. I felt strange calling since I didn't want to bug my nurse or RE for such a simple question, but anyone who answers the phone can tell you what your due date is. :) Hope this helps.

Karen - I can personally tell you that you will know the difference between the "pains" you are probably having vs. miscarriage cramps. I have had 2 miscarriages and these types of cramps are rhythmic cramps that are constant. Other pains are probably just stretching pains...I know it is still stressful and I especially stress when I feel anything!

Regarding the PIO shots - my doctor said he will keep me on PIO or another form of progesterone up until 10 - 12 weeks just because of my stress level and I feel that things are working now so lets just let it be. He said they typically take bloodwork and check progesterone numbers around 7 - 8 weeks and then start to cut down progesterone. However, if I want to continue they support this as well. He said it is my call.

Hi all,

This morning I woke up with a little spotting and because of my past miscarriages I of course began to worry. I went into my clinic and my doctor did an exam and found the bleeding coming from a side of my cervix. He said that this common and it does happen. He then did an ultrasound and the baby looks good and the heartbeat was 110. So, I feel better but I am wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this?

One more thing to worry about....any comments would be appreciated!

ktelise - I had lots of heavy red bleeding at 8wk 1d and the baby looked good. Even now I spot dark blood everyday and my last u/s (around 9 wks) showed the baby still looking great. My doctor says it's ok and somewhat common (caused by a subchorionic hemorrhage) so I do my best not to worry. I know this is a little bit different than your experience, I just wanted to let you know that it's scary (I've also had a m/c in the past) but, it can still turn out ok.

To everyone else - hope all is well.

Good Lord ! I leave for a while and you all go and have a typing fest! I love it!
Ok so please someone take pity on me and explain to me how to make a link? please?
I come across all these neat things and it takes forever to explain how to get there!
Hee heee plus I figure that we're all going to want to compare baby things sooner or later
I forget who was confused as to figuring out the due date - try babymed.com - click on "tools" then due date calculator
Also IVF.CA.com on the right side of the home page you'll see due date calculator & bonus! its made for ivf dates! - super easy!

So am I the only one that isnt comfortable in jeans anymore? I feel like I'm living in sweats/ yoga pants or pj pants! Yes, Hazel I caught your post on using hair bands to button your pants - fashion went out the window for me too, now I'm all about whatever is comfortable. it seems too soon to pick up maternity jeans, but my abdomen is so tender! When my DH does my PIO inj, i usually lay down, but lately? forget it it hurts to lay on my stomach. I thought it was too early for all of that? I guess not, huh?

Hazel Or should I start calling you Dolly Parton? hee heee - I'm an only child also! Oh, I bet your parents were so excited to see your new bump! I bet they cant wait to become Grandparents? Are you lucky enough to have them fairly close by? How goes the m/s? Still bugging you at night? Mine seems to be just hours of feeling nauseous but no vomiting, then it goes away. But there is no pattern to it, sometimes its morning, sometimes afternoon, or night. If you've been feeling like that ? (times 10 probably!) for all of this time? Oh, honey you deserve some sort of reward for that! xoxo

Gi its true, your ticker is running a day behind - thats frustrating! I put in your ER date to ivf.ca and it came back as 4w4d - with an EDD of Nov15!
Hi & big hug to your Mam! :D

Ronda YAY you're here! I love your ticker! Congrats on a great 2nd beta! I looked up your 1106 # and it falls right between both singletons and twins - so I guess I should stop guessing! Now starts the next 2ww (does it ever end?) until your u/s. What a happy day that will be! What? 80lb sacks of grain? Ummm... maybe your DH can lift them instead? ( I know, I hate to wait & ask for help too) but please be careful! Oh, how wonderful to have horses!

Karen I've been feeling those stetchy, pulling feelings also, kind of creeps me out, like cramps will start soon after or something, but thankfully that hasnt happened! How are you feeling with 2 in there? Is your DH ready for a bigger house yet? xoxo

Steph Grrrr! Slap that dopey platoon SGT! Theres always one, isnt there? OK so now the dreaded wait until next Thursday for the u/s. is it Thursday yet? hee heee I hear you, girl - me too I guess I put on about 30 lbs myself, I blame the stress of 6 failed cycles in a 15 month span - plus my love of all foods that are fried & fattening. Funny how much better I eat when I'm happy. As soon as I'm depressed though - its a free for all with no thoughts of calories or fat grams either!
Is your DH still over the top? Mine keeps trying to help me do EVERYTHING - which is driving me crazy, but I'm happy that he's so sweet.

Lou Oh my honey, another 16 hr day? I hope you've been doing some sitting at least. WTH??? A spin class? Now dont get mad at me, but I do remember you saying that for a BFP - you'll gladly not stress your bikini ready body for at least 8 more months? And besides your trainer friend can whip you right back into awesome shape after! I'm with Karen Dont raise your heart rate right now. I was told no lifting, or straining - just walking. *sigh* Although I dont think that my RE meant walking or getting walked by a 112lb mastiff puppy! But I will say I'm impressed that you could get through a whole spin class feeling this TIRED
For me it was bad at 6 weeks, but got much worse at 7 weeks. At 4& 5 weeks I felt great, so great in fact that I was concerned for not having any symptoms - then thay all showed up at once, fun, yes? ummm no. Oh, and 3 cheers for us clueless women! What? we have plenty of time to figure it out dont we? Now why are they making you wait 5 days for the 2nd beta? I thought it was the 66% rise in 48-72 hrs that they were looking for? Maybe because your beta was over 100?
About the OB, I was told dont bother to make an appt until they sent my records upon releasing me ( hopefully next week at 8weeks) Is it driving you crazy that during ivf we knew it all and were all squared away and now I feel like I dont know what comes next? For me its been like - "OK, now I'm pregnant - now what do I do?" I'm sure we will all feel much better after the first OB appt - although I do think we'll be there all day with the amount of questions we all have! Take it easier, please! - much love xoxo

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Katie - The spotting was scary but I am glad to find out it is minor and it has pretty much gone away as of now but I will keep my fingers crossed and pray all goes well until my next u.s on 3/24.

I really don't have too many symptoms other than my boobs are heavy with a lot of blue veins. At night before bed I begin to get a terrible headache and then my stomach gets to feeling strange. I go to sleep and feel fine in the morning.

What about you?

katie - You are hilarious. It isn't Thursday yet though I wish it was and I would love to slap that dude a few times, but alas I can't. However, Dh's old platoon sgt that he had in Iraq is going to batalion and wants to take DH with him. That would make our lives so much easier! I hope it happens sooner rather than later.

ktelise - Glad to hear things are better. The only time I had any bleeding was the day after my first IVF. It was just a few drops, but bright red and I almost started to cry right there on the toilet. I tried to convince myself it was implantation bleeding but after talking with the RE after the 2nd failed attempt, he said it was likely from the transfer, and bleeding from a transfer is really bad. So basically, I didn't have a chance with that one. That is my only experience with spotting, I didn't bleed at all with my DD.

I'm not liking the nauseous feeling I have been getting, never had it before with my pregnancy, though that was over 10 years ago now. I have it just enough to bother me and it hides just below my throat teasing me. I am too strong for it though, I haven't upchucked yet. HA! I feel like I'm living in sweats too, one reason is because I feel safer in loose clothes and the other reason is because I gained 30 freaking pounds! Most of my jeans don't fit, I only have one pair left... my fatty jeans! UGH! Though my boobs are sore, I do like how they have swollen up a bit. The extra skin from being itty bitty and stretched out from my forever ago pregnancy has now filled in. My boobs use to look like two pittifully deflated balloons and now they are perky. DH was enjoying the gander he was taking the other night. (Of course just looking, can't do anything too fun) I can lay down and look half decent now. YAY Too bad I can't keep them after the baby is born.

Just a quick hello.

Reading & catching up today... but sorry, no time for personals. I'm glad to hear everyone is doing well. :)

I hope I can stay caught up with you all through these pregnancies, but I am just worn out. My nausea was at it's worst thus far today, I can barely keep my eyes open at work and I'm giving Oscar the grouch a run for his money. Seriously, if I can make it through the first trimester without strangling my boss, we will count it as a win. She is generally annoying, but my fuse with her is getting shorter by the day. She is one of those people that "knows" everything and when telling you something, has to repeat it 15 times - "I got it the first time, lady, shut up already!!!!!"     She also is one of those that uses the word "we" instead of "you" and "I" instead of "we" - as in "we" designed this project and created blaa, blaa.." - translation: she had nothing to do with it. I did it myself, but she must take some credit for it. and when she does help out on a project, it becomes "I" did... - ok, so now all of a sudden, she's done it completely alone. And the latest thing that bugs the crap outta me is she keeps saying she's "making" someone do something... talking about my co-worker (who wasn't there today) she says, "I made her call them and get that straight" - when I know full well that she didn't even KNOW my co-worker had called about the issue! GGGRRRRR!!!! - She's like 60 years old, you'd think she'd mellow with the whole "control" thing a bit... but clearly not. RETIRE ALREADY!!!!!

I know you can clearly see my annoyance, and I'm just giving you the reader's digest version - pregnant or not - this lady is on my last nerve. I have just been able to contain myself (i'm fairly new, only 1 1/2 years in this job) and they are SO good to me with my schedule (I work 3 afternoons a week from home so DH and I can share childcare and not have to put him in daycare) - so I've felt my hands were tied.... newbie, indebted for convenient schedule... but soon, all bets may be off...

Image

Steph, want me to come down and straighten out those stupid people and hospital staff? I think I could be quite convincing. ;) (not that u need the help, of course, but I could certainly use the venting. ;) )

Hope, you are more then welcome to take out your stress on the hospital staff though I would like to offer up my DH's boss instead. lol Hopefully the dragon lady will retire or maybe HR will come down and "reduce" those who are "too qualified" and offer her an early out to help with budgets. Hold in there, don't flip out on her and get yourself in trouble. Though if she becomes or is that big of an issue, I hope that your job offers a good grievance clause. Maybe they can stick their foot up her ass for you?

DH has been so awesome, he is learning slowly how to cook and doing a great job so far; e.g. no burnt food or house fires and we are all still alive. He wants me to rest and not have any worries. He even picks up around the house. Not sure how long this will last. It's sweet, however I am bored out of my mind. My business went south quickly when trying to get up and running in this darn state so I have no job. Nothing for me to do but check up on you fine ladies all day. :) Don't get me wrong, I do get up and cook and do things, though he likes me to relax. I think I will just take advantage of it, after all I am exhausted anyway and in 7 months or so I won't have much rest at all.

Ktelise- I understand your fear and worry about spotting. I've had light brown spotting on and off since the week of my first beta. It's mentally exhausting. Although earlier this week when I had the cramp-like feelings with it, I got scared as heck. It has subsided, the cramps, and only super super light brown color when I wipe every now and then. Not anything that ever accumulates on my panties. Sorry TMI. I'll be sending you positive energy! I know I might sound like a broken record to some, but the pregnancy meditations and affirmations really help ease my worries. It's really positive. They are listed on the pregnancy after treatment list of topics. It's free.

Hope- I hear ya about the annoying and know-it-all boss from hell. If I were still working at my last job, I would for sure have a very difficult time swallowing the BS. My last boss with a slutty idiot and I never could understand how she kept her job for 10+ years. Thank goodness my DH makes enough for me just to focus on this phase of our life! I feel very fortunate!

Katie- I'm with you on the pants not fitting. My waist never recovered from the IVF bloating, so I've been using a pony tail holder to expand the waist of my jeans for a while. hehehehe. But now, it is starting to feel too snug in the length of the zipper region, so I guess within the week they'll be retired for the rest of the year. Hard to believe! I only have a few pair of leggings/knit jersey type pants that are not too snug in the waist. Thank goodness I don't have to go to a job anymore b/c I wouldn't be able to swing knit leggings on a daily basis. I think I would look silly in maternity stuff right now, so I think I'll just go buy a bigger size in a couple pair of pants just to continue thru transition. Although I know with twins the ole belly will be bulging sooner than it would with just one. Kind of exciting to start looking more pregnant than just like I ate too many bags of Doritos. hehehee

Steph- I too have subtle nausea that I have been able to keep at bay by never going too long without eating something. I think to my accupuncture is really helping, too. The adversions to smells is quite strong and I'm to the point to where I can't stand the smell of our adorable 15 year old dog. And she really doesn't stink. She's never been a stinky dog...so I know it's just me. I feel horrible that it bothers me...but nothing I can do about it. hehehee. So I just deal with it and give her kisses and hugs and then run off to the other room for a bit. She definitely knows something is up with my body. It's pretty amazing.

How is everyone else feeling? I hope well and positive. Everyday in pregnancy is a new adventure, isn't it! Big hug to all!

Riley baby - Thank you for the information on spotting. I appreciate hearing everyone's stories on this. It is scary but I only have the spotting in the morning after waking up and of course the spotting was worse this morning because I had the exam yesterday. Throughout the day I have little to nothing so I am taking it one day at a time. Because I had the exam and scan yesterday morning and the bleeding is definately coming from my cervix my doctor said that it would only cause more bleeding to do another exam and because I do not have any other symptoms he feels confident that everything is fine.

I can say this...after having 2 m/c and going through IVF...don't you think I deserve a break??? ugh...

If anyone else has had a similar experience I would love to hear.

Hi All,

Boy do I need a nap today! Probably the nasty rainy weather we've been having. Ugh... so ugly out! I had a craving for Indian food so a girlfriend and I went to an Indian Buffet restaurant for lunch today. It was really good and hit the spot. I love spicy food. Now I smell like curry and my dog won't come near me. DH is working til 7pm but I really want to go to see Alice and Wonderland tonight in IMAX 3D. So I think that's what we'll do. I will need that nap to make it through a movie that starts at 9:40PM!

ktelise -- I bet the spotting was scary. I know it would scare me too. I'm glad you got checked out right away and found out it wasn't anything serious. I hope it's stopped for you.

katie -- Yeah, I did work another 16 hr day yesterday. And I'm not mad at you for telling me to take it easy. I probably need to be told every once in a while. I'm only doing what RE said I could do. I did spin, but I didn't go all out... maybe 60-70% only. And I did play tennis today, but I didn't run or sprint. I just did some drills to work on my shots and serves. Wasn't too much. My body felt good. No cramping or anything at all. I don't know why I don't get a 2nd beta for 5 days. I'm going to ask on Monday. I have no symptoms anymore at all. In fact, just to make sure I was still pregnant I POAS after tennis today. I got 2 very dark lines, much darker than what I got on Wednesday :D . So I guess that's good. And that's what I figured about the OB appt... that RE would ask where to send the records. Only, the OB/Gyn I've been seeing for 10 years isn't the one I'm going to use due to insurance reasons. I hope I don't have a problem getting the one I want to take me or anything like that. I hate that this insurance thing has messed this up for me. I so wish I could keep my doctor. I think I'll call the new doctors office in a couple of weeks and give them a "heads up".

stephanie
-- That's so sweet of your DH to step up and help out. There are definitely some days where I wish I could spend the day as I want and relax as much as possible. I know I work too much. And I'm going to have to decrease it a bit. I'm hoping that once the baby comes, my boss will let me have every other Friday off so I work 9 days in two weeks instead of 10. DH is home on every Weds and every other Fri and my in-laws would come one day a week, so that would leave us with 2 days a week of child care to worry about.

Hope -- You are definitely entitled to rant as much as you want about an annoying boss! That's the beauty of this site.

I know I didn't get to everyone today. I'm so tired, I'm going to lay down for that nap now. I worked very late last night and got up quite early.

Have a good weekend everyone!
