What are everyones thoughts about preparing for FET? I did a FET in Sept. of 2007 with a positive result, 1st try with new clinic. I just did another FET with a negative result. I am not sure I did as much for this transfer as far as preparing physically and wanted to get thoughts from others.
Should our bodies be prepared by some type of detox? It's funny how there are lots of people who get pregnant and abuse their bodies, but when it comes to me and I'm sure lots of others, we worry so much about what we are doing at the time and not doing, eating or not eating etc...
Are there certain times of the month that may be better? Full moon, new moon?? This can drive me crazy!!
we sound similar in that I have had one successful FET. I have one frozen embie left and want to give it the best possible chance. Last time I tried to get healthier, lost a bit of weight and tried not to stress too much! (easier said than done!) I am probably going to try for my FET in a couple of months (still hoping for a natural pregnancy if possible beforehand). I am going to try cutting down on caffiene and losing weight! Good luck with your FET! Fee
Hi Fee, good luck with your next FET. i am hoping for next month. This will be it for us. We have 8 more frosties and are going to take the best "2", maybe "3" depending on quality. Hopefully it works and we give our DS a sibling. If it does not that is fine as well, he has cousins that he LOVES to play with! We are truly blessed with our son xo
Suprised there is noone else that has any thoughts about preparation, considering how many are on these boards!
Again, good luck on your next FET!
No, you are not alone in thinking of preparation for a transfer. I had a great plan also but it didn’t work out. I wanted to lose weight after I delivered my stillborn daughter last year but apparently my thyroid was stressed to the limit during the pregnancy so that prevented a large weight loss. But, we discovered it and now I am on Synthroid.
But, they always say to treat your body as though you are pregnant months and months before attempting another transfer. But, I think things happen when they happen so we are going forward with a transfer at the end of the month and wishing for the best.
Hi Everyone - I'm planning on doing my first FET in May and would love any pointers - i just think it's all a numbers game/there is a lot of stuff they recommend but really your body just has to decide it wants to be pregnant, you know? I did a fresh cycle last Sept, transferred 2 perfect embryos and no luck at all BFN!! So it's just a guessing game to me!
You would probably get a better response though if you posted in the IVF portion instead of the general forum (I know someone mentioned that to me when I first joined this board) - people don't come on here as much as the IVF site because this one is mainly used for the abbreviations and stuff like that...just an idea - throw it out on the IVF board and I"m sure more people will comment as I know there are a lot of people who have talked about FET's etc. in the past!
Good luck - I hope everyone is successful the next time around!!
