ktelise - No, not having any cramps. Pinching and such is normal, but I have always been told AF cramps are nothing to mess with and to go to the ER especially if they are regular like contractions would be. Are you having red blood or discharge with it? I hope you are ok!!!

Evening ladies,

Stephanie i am afraid to admit i really dont know much about the Hill of Tara  or have an opinion i live no where near it i should be embarrassed!!! I can go to my local gynae if i get too worried and get an u/s but i will try hold off, last 2 pregnancies i just constantly worried went for early scans all were fine and still had m/c so this time i am going to Relax (well for the moment anyway!!!)

ktelise when i rang my clinic to confirm i was pregnant from test the nurse told me that cramping is Very normal for early pregnancy as its your uterus stretching and changing and also if you are still on progesterone. I have very mild cramping but they are not as painful as AF just there and usually in the evenings. I know how hard it is to not analyise everything esp. if you have had m/c I am seriously trying to just relax and i am high risk for m/c. If they are very painful and you bleed then go get it checked out for peace of mind. As Steph said to me just show up at ER and even pretend you had spotting just so you can be reassured...a liitle white lie wont hurt.

Hope thank goodness i am off work for a while cause you wouldnt have put up with my ranting over my boss!!!! Even just looking at him drives me mad i usually make sure he is super busy (he is a dentist) so i only have to hear his voice when he buzzes me!!! Fingers crossed i wont have to see him for a couple of months  Oh i would love a bit of m/s to make me feel pregnant though its still early days!!

Hope every one had a nice weekend

gi - I agree with relaxing and staying clam. Best not to get stressed out like me. lol I just needed to know my numbers were going up and got an US out of the ER visit where normally they wouldn't do something like that. If my DH would have stayed calm and waited for the numbers, I think I could have done just fine without the ER visit. He can be more impatient than I when it comes to this baby. No worries about the Hill of Tara, I was just curious if you might have had an opinion about it. It was brought to my attention when one of my favorite hottie actors (JRM) was supporting the preservation of the historic hill.

ktelise - I hope you are doing well! I hope to see a happy update from you soon!

AFM - I have come to understand that the ms is more intense when my body wants me to eat. Lucky for me, nothing has come up though it seems it isn't far from doing so. Hopefully it doesn't get much worse. I must say... the 100% pelvic rest is starting to get harder and harder to deal with. Does anyone know if this ends after the US or if we have to wait the whole 1st trimester?

just a quick update to say hi... i'm reading, but having an awfully, icky, yucky day (3 in a row). gi, hon, i'll be glad to send a bit of my m/s across the pond for you... take it, please. ;) :?

so far, only being physically ill about 1x a day, but otherwise, only able to keep down a few things, and mostly liquids until about 7:30, tho it's that time now, and i'm still feeling gross.

i did shower today - that was seriously the highlight and most i've done all day. dh took ds to see his brothers today, so they r gone til tomorrow. i miss them, but it's been better that i've be sick alone for a while and not having to worry about trying to take care of ds. dh was so wonderful and stayed home from work with me yesterday to take care of him too, so that was nice.

i'm just hoping this doesn't last TOO much longer, but i'm afraid i'm still at the early, early beginning of these days. with ds it lasted 5 mo.

sorry for no personals... hope to catch up later this week. thinking of you all. hugs!

Hello all - Thank you all for checking on me. I am doing well and the cramping I am having is not "cramps" so to say but more of the heavy feeling that I get before AF. Unfortunately, I do know what m/c cramps are and these are not them and I do not have any bleeding so I am sure this little one is just making room!

There is an ultrasound institute where I live that does free ultrasounds on a volunteer basis so I am going to call tomorrow and get some information. Does anyone know how early you can see the heartbeat on an abdominal ultrasound?

ktelise - Glad to hear things are ok. From the research I have done, the earliest a heartbeat can be seen on an abdominal ultrasound is 10 weeks pregnant or 8 weeks past ovulation. Normally your first OB appointment will be after the 10 week mark making it possible to hear the heartbeat on a doppler as well. I hope this helps. :)

ktelise- How are you doing? I have had slight cramp light sensations that reminded me of when AF was arriving...not the Af cramps that I have during AF, but that feeling I would get when it was coming on. Unless you have red spotting/blood flow, it is normally nothing to worry about. I have had them atleast once a week since my first beta. I called my RE multiple times about it and they say it is normal unless it is PAINFUL and you have red blood. Now that isn't 100% fool proof they say, but they hear about AF like feeling all the time. I would give your RE a call if you feel worried. They know alot more about it than any of us...but the frustrating thing is that if you ask 5 different RE's you might get 2 different answers! You can always have them check your bloodwork and do an u/s. I know, it's not definitive and I too have had to learn to interpret my own body. UGH. Hope you are well! xo

Stephanie - Thank you for the ultrasound information. I will see what I find out about how many weeks and let you all know. Hope things are going well with you!

Karen - Isn't it frustrating to have any type of "feeling" and not know exactly what it could possibly be? I believe that women go have IVF are so intune with their bodies that we feel every slight twinge and ache so this makes it 10 times worse and we probably worry way more than other woman! Thank you for the information and I hope you are doing well!

Does anyone know when estrogen and/or baby asprin is stopped? We have all discussed progesterone but not these 2 medications. I am still taking both at 6 weeks 5 days.

Still anxiously awaiting my next u/s on 3/24...

ktelise,

I believe that the aspirin is until the end of the trimester and estrogen is until about 9 to 10 weeks. Glad to hear you are ok, always worry when someone starts talking about cramps!

Hi Everyone. This is my first time on this side of the thread. I have been reading the few last pages and wannted to update you on my second beta. Remembe rfirst beta was 1685 at 18dpo. Today at 22dpo beta is at 8007. :D Needless to say when the nurse called I panicked and asked her about triplets possibility. :? She said twins definately but triplets unlicky since we transfered only 2 embies. So I feel a little bit better. U/s is in 2 weeks. I dont have the date yet. So far not too much side effect except being tired and my stomach feel a little "weird" but nothing dramatic. I hope it stays that way... :D
Love to everyone...I wish I had more to say but my life is pretty boring lately. Talk to you soon

Positive - Welcome to this neck of the woods! Glad to see you finally made it! I can't wait till you find out for sure how many buns are in the oven. :) Your ticker is cute, but in due time you may have to change it to two elephants. ;) They think I might have more then one. Just like everyone says, can't always be sure about the numbers, but yours are awesome! Glad everything is going well and your belly isn't screaming much at you. Hopefully it does stay that way. Mine as been mad at me a few times, but nothing to severe either.

ktelise - It seems that each RE is different in their decision on progesterone and estrogen. I have heard here that the norm is 10 weeks, other places on the internet I have heard 14 weeks and others even longer, but usually the longer ones are because of that person's body or the placenta not doing it's job. I guess they will do blood work and find out what your progesterone and estrogen count is and if it is low, they may keep you on it, if it is high they may say you don't need it anymore. I just wish the progesterone was as easy to take as the estrogen pills. My poor toosh is all knotted up. :(

Hi everyone -

How are you all feeling today? We've had nonstop rain since Friday, so the yard is looking like a lake, so my poor dogs are having cabin fever and driving me nuts! i've had m/s off & on all weekend but today I finally feel pretty good. See- I wished for symptoms so I would 'feel' pregnant and boy did they show up! Now I wish they would go away - hee hee So I finally gave in and ordered some stretchy maternity jeans from old navy ( a lot cheaper than I thought!) I looked at a few maternity stores online but didint like the way they looked, and I had to do something since I've been living in sweats, yoga pants since my ET! I go for what I believe will be the last b/w appt tomorrow - lets see what happens. my progesterone last week was only 26, so they didnt lower my dose at all. Unfortunately I wont get the results until Friday since my RE's lab only runs P4 once a week. I'm a little eager to be released ( so I can have another u/s!) No, not only that I'd like to see what the OB has to say, but I know she'll want to do her own u/s soon! I cant wait to see what the bean looks like now.

Hazel How are you feeling? How is Joya's poor paw doing? hopefully its healing up nicely

Gi oh, honey i'm glad you're off so your boss wont be driving you mad! how are you feeling?

Ronda Hi Mom! how are you feeling? When is your u/s scheduled for?

lou I love your ticker! Will they call with your 2nd beta results already? UGH!

Karen How are you doing mommy times two? Are you feeling ok?

Steph Ack! me too! The darn knots are on both sides of my hips! its really getting hard to find an injection site in between the lumps! And I have to do this until 12 weeks? sigh - other than that how are you feeling?

KTelise I was told that I'd be on all of them (PIO, estrogen and baby aspirin) until 12 weeks - sounds like fun huh? How are you feeling?

Positive Hi honey! I'm glad to hear that you're feeling good! I'm very happy that your nurse said most likely twins, 2 are much safer for you to carry. But your HCG is giving you great betas! Yippee for that! Love your ticker- its so adorable!

Hope How are you doing? I hope your boss keeps her big trap shut this week and doesnt stress you out! Yeah, i know - good luck with that, right?

hugs and prayers to us all - xoxo

hello dear ladies - hope pregnancy is finding you all happy and well today...

katie - good luck with the labs tomorrow. that sucks that you have to wait to get the results! :( but here's to a full graduation to the OB/GYN! You'll be just like any other pregnant girl now! woo hoo! funny that you bought the maternity pants. i've started pulling my old maternity clothes out as well as using my belly bands. I also just purchased the bellybelt. I didn't see it before when i was pg, but i'm gonna give it a try. the belly bands ride up on me, (i'm kind of hippy,
total Image) and i thought it could work better for me. I'll give it a try tomorrow. Just got 'em in the mail today!

Positive! woo hoo on some awesome numbers! I'm sure it's a relief to not have to worry too much about triplets!!!! (though I must say - i don't want to get you worked up, but i just read an article on octomom - i thought she'd had 8 embies transferred, but she didn't, apparently she had 6 and 2 split! - what are the chances, comm'on!) anyway, i guess it's possible... tho extremely unlikely! so don't u worry... but i would start getting ready for those two little ones!!!

ktelise - glad things are starting to feel a bit better for you. I have been having a lot of pains and some back pain too.... it's definitely not fun! are you on PIO or inserts? i know the PIO is a royal pain in the toosh... i've done it before... but i'm starting to get annoyed with the ickiness of inserts too! :( good luck with the next u/s - it'll be here soon!!

hi karen! how are you feeling, sweetie?

steph - i'll be glad to come down & set ur dh's boss straight ;) he may be big, tough, and scary, but i'm pregnant and severely hormonal!!! i'll be right down, as soon as i get my boss straightened out. ;) seriously tho... what is he thinking, trying to interpret your u/s?!!!!?! idiot! does he think he's a doctor? dumb arse! some men. (and quite frankly, some women too! :? )

gi - how's our lucky irish girl today? been thinking of u with all the st. patty's stuff EVERYWHERE! hope u r doing well and little one is too!!!
Image

lou - enjoy that indian food and late night imax while you can sweetie!! hopefully u'll still feel like enjoying them both as the pregnancy goes along and you don't teeter out at 5pm! ;) while eating saltines! ;) how r u feeling? still good, i hope!

hello to all i've missed... thinking of you!!

afm - went back to work today. cruella deville was off today! WOO HOO! our lovely secretary did reiki on me during our meeting and it helped tremendously with my m/s! so lovely! but then, later, it came back. i got a frosty from wendy's for lunch and that helped a bit too. so on & off, still lingering, but definitely better than this weekend. i miss my sweetie boys. my dh won some MAJOR brownie points today, tho... I have to brag on him a sec. He was at our lakehouse, which is about 4 hrs from our home, (45 min from my DSS's mom's house) and only 2 hrs from my folks' and sisters. He drove the 4 hr round trip to take my DS to see his grandparents and aunts today! For those who don't know, my mom is in the middle of her fight with lymphoma. She has just recently completed her 5th chemo round. And for her to see her youngest grandson was just pure joy today. She called me later, just crying and saying that she was so thankful to see him (among other things that were inaudible due to the crying! ;) ) but it was definitely very sweet... and the best part, it was totally his idea! I didn't even suggest it or hint at it. I think I'll keep him. ;)
