Katie- I would be pissed and very suspicious! Believe me...they are "assigning" someone to you to protect THEIR interests, not yours. Sad but true. I would do what Lou recommended. Tell them you are not comfortable wtih answering their questions and suggest they speak to your OB office. Tell them you think this process is suspicious. That's just my two cents. Hope you feel better soon!

Evening everyone!

lou - please, please, please don't start convincing yourself that something has gone wrong in there, you will be just fine. I felt absolutely normal too until 6wks1day, then had odd spells of feeling a bit under the weather for a few days before m/s settled in fully. You may start feeling something soon, or it may take until 8 weeks, or you may be lucky and feel good throughout. Believe me, of those of us who have had m/s, I suspect we all wish we could turn the clock back and feel as good as we did in the early weeks! And as Rondasaid, you are in great shape physically so that may well have something to do with you not being struck down yet! In fact, I'm not sure I've ever known anyone on these boards in as good shape as you... Just hang in there until Monday!

ktelise - yay for a nice strong heartbeat! No, I didn't spot after my 7 week u/s, but I've read that the progesterone can make the cervix aggravated and if so, then sex can cause some spotting, so it would make sense that the transvaginal u/s might do too. Has it stopped now?

meganlynn - I was on progesterone (Crinone vaginal gel) daily until 13 weeks, then every other day until 14 weeks, but some other people on here have been weaned off much earlier, like from 8/9 weeks. Sorry to hear that you're having problems going to the bathroom. If you mean that you're a bit constipated, then yes that can be a common side effect of the progesterone - try eating more fibre and drinking more water. If you mean that you're having pain when you go to the toilet to have a wee, then you may well have a urinary infection (fairly common in pregnancy, I think) so you should get that checked out.

Ronda - yep, I only get midwife care throughout the pregnancy, unless something happens to make me 'high risk'. I don't mind so much, although a few more scans would be nice (I'll only get a total of two scans throughout the whole process, at 11 weeks and 20 weeks, unless I pay for more myself)! I just wish I liked my midwife more - I really haven't taken to her and I find her actively unhelpful at times. Example 1 = back at the booking in appt at 10 weeks, I asked her how soon she starts listening to the baby's heartbeat at appointments. She said she doesn't listen until the 25 week appointment, which I thought was odd. So yesterday when I begged her to try and find the heartbeat because I was worried that this pain couldn't mean anything good, she agreed but it was a bit reluctant. When I asked her again how early she normally starts listening for it, she said that she is not 'obliged' to listen until 25 weeks but 'most patients' ask her to try earlier. So she led me to believe that she 'couldn't' find it until 25 weeks when in fact she just can't be bothered unless you press her to try. Example 2 = I thanked her profusely yesterday for finding the heartbeat. I apologised for being so anxious, and said that it is probably a product of everything that DH and I have had to go through over the last 4+ years just to fall pregnant (she knows my medical history) and that a part of my brain keeps worrying that everything else in that time has gone wrong when we've tried things, and this might go wrong as well. She just said dismissively 'oh, I find that everyone worries unnecessarily, you're no different'. Really helpful... Unfortunately, she's the only midwife available through my doctor's surgery so unless I pay a small fortune for a private midwife, I'm stuck with her. Sorry, rant over!!!

Katie - oh honey, how frustrating with your insurance company. Tell you what, shall I come over there and give them a piece of my mind, and you can come over here and tell off my midwife for me for being so damn unhelpful and unsympathetic??? I agree with the others, why don't you ask them to speak directly to your OB (and you can warn your OB what they're sniffing around for). Yippee for another m/s free day though...

Hi Ladies,

I have been following all of your journeys since Katie started this thread and although I'm not "officially" joining you guys until I see an u/s I am really nervous and needed some support. I had my beta 10dp3dt and it was an 88. I was then retested 4 days later since I was away at a conference and it only went to a 210. The nurse originally said "to come back next Wednesday 3/31 for an SnS" and it was only until I said that my number seemed low that she agreed and ordered me b/w for tomorrow. The last cycle I had a chemical because my numbers only went from 137 to 190 in two days and then down to 75 two days later. I'm trying to hope for the best and I even see that Katie had similiar numbers to mine and is doing fine but I'm just being SOOO paranoid because of my last experience.

Any words of advice? Sorry to crash this thread but I feel so close to so many of you and didn't think you would mind!!!

xoxo

Megan - I am a bit stopped up myself. Progesterone can cause your bowels to move a little more slowly. Eat lots of fiber and whole grains, it helps. You can also try fiber supplements like Fiber Con or Metamucil (both safe for baby).

Katie - Sorry to hear about your frustrating insurance issues! I would do as Lou says and not tell them anything, if they want info to call my doctors. Tell them that you are not a medical professional and you can't be responsible for possibly interpreting something incorrectly. I am surprised they are being so freaking pokey! You have had enough stress! They need to leave you alone and let you relax and enjoy your pregnancy! My insurance doesn't cover IVF and I had to pay upfront which killed our savings for just the first try. The second time we had to sell a 66 mustang a four wheeler and motorcycle to get the money. The third attempt they credited me a bunch, but I keep getting bills for a lot of stuff they said were credited. I hope your ordeal ends soon. Be strong! :)

ktelise - Awesome news on your u/s! Glad everything went well. You have a perfectly growing baby in there. It never gets old being able to see your little bean, when is your next one? Hope to see that pretty ticker here soon! I spotted after each transvaginal u/s, but I was already bleeding before that, so I suppose it irritated the bleed I have. Sometimes it can come from your cervix. I am sure your little one is just fine. Don't worry! :)

Lou - Can't wait till Monday! I hope you get plenty of pictures to show off. :) Then you can start screaming from roof tops!

Karen - How are you and your beans?

Hazel - Welcome back from being MIA for a few days. Glad you had fun in the monsoon. That pain must be freaky, but glad to hear the midwife found the heartbeat and all is well! Maybe your urterus is just stretching and that is what the pain is. Everyone's body is different so maybe yours is just making it a little tougher on you. Listen to yourself and trust everything is fine! That is what I am doing.

Claud - Your questions are welcome! Though I am not sure what advice to give other then to stay positive. Since you had a 3 day transfer, I think 210 is a great number 14 days post transfer! It is going up and that is a good thing. Keep thinking happy baby thoughts and hopefully that next beta tomorrow will come back even higher! Going from 88 to 210 is great! Much better than your last experience 137 to 190. Stay in your happy place. :)

AFM - I changed to Tricare Standard. This means that I can't be seen on post for anything at all unless it is life threatening I can go to the ER. I get to go to any doctor I want though. So I did, I signed up today and my first OB appointment is 4/19. That is the earliest they could get me in unless I want to call everyday for possible cancelations. I have to pay a $25 ded for delievery and $150 ded forthe clinic visits. Not bad I suppose to have the best care possible. I woke up this morning without more blood! Whoo Hooo!! Still a little brown, but finally not the dark red color. Could this be the end? Lets all hope so! DH has the picture of the beans as the screensaver on his blackberry. He has escelated to not just telling and showing everyone he knows, but people he doesn't know as well. We had pest control spray the house today and he had to share with the pest control guy and he went to the store last night and shared with the cashier. He will also out of the blue just come out and say, "Twins." or "You're pregnant." Like he is still in disbelief. It's so cute to watch his emotions through this whole experience.

Evening ladies,

hjw i cant believe how rude and insensitive your midwife is def.no thank you card for her!!!! I am glad she finally did the ckd the heartbeat its not as if its a tough job for her to do! and you are reassured everything is ok, how are them pains i think unfortunatley we are all going to analysise every ache and pain until we safely hold our babies in our arms. Be strong with your midwife and just keep insisting on cking the heartbeat this is your baby and its not as if you ever need to see her again after it.

Katie typical insurance company!! Try not to get too worked up, maybe they will give you extra scans to ck your baby :D Mam says hi, she is always reading and praying that everyone here has safe and healthy pregnancies she laughed at me the other day as she said that i kept saying "if i am pregnant" she says gina you are pregnant!

Ronda how are you feeling?? Prob. like death warmed up!!! it must be harder with 2 other children to look after.

Claud i know how scared you must be feeling and i will light a candle for you tomorrow for a strong and healthy beta. I cycled with dogzrule last year and her betas started off very low, much lower than yours and she is due very shortly, she is in the April mommies and her betas are still attached to her signature have a look if you want just for reassurance xxxx

lou you are driving yourself mad though i can understand your fears, you are so fit and healthy and are prob. one of the "lucky" ones. Monday cant come soon enough for both of us!!

Megan glad to hear you are feeling great how long are you on the progesterone for?

ktelise it is common to have some spotting after a us but also the progesterone can cause it too. How is it now??

AFM this is the 3rd day in a row i have had to take a nap i am soooo tired but after i wake up i feel very nausuas and weak i think m/s (or afternoon sickness) is kicking in . I usually need to drink some sprite to help me feel better. Its not too bad very bearable but it exhausts me but its great as i usually just grab my book and read in bed with my little doggie. Also think i may have the worlds smallest bladder getting up at least 3 times a night!!!!! Its all great though wont get too excited till i see the heartbeat.

Steph i am really glad to hear the bleeding is finally stopping it will be such a relief for you to wake up and see nothing!!

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!! I just spent the past hour writing all those personals and the darn site ate it!
THAT.IS. SO. FRUSTRATING!!!!! - well that'll teach me right for taking so long, I guess. Ok now I have to go start dinner so I'll do the short version.
Thank you for your advice on my evil insurance company - I dont trust being "assigned" an OB nurse checking up on me either! But i did make an OB appt for next friday 4/2 so i'll duck any insurance calls until then - and then say talk to my OB. I swear the state of health care is atrocious! I must have been red flagged for being "41yo" and "ivf" or something.

Lou This is Aetna I'm complaining about. I hope you have someone better! I'm telling you at 6.5 weeks I felt great too. You may be one of the lucky ones that doesnt get m/s at all - but i tell you when I hit 7 wks -BAM! there were all the s/s that I thought I was missing - all at once. But I agree with everyone else - its like you are a finely tuned athlete, that can only help your body deal with all of this better than ours can. Dont worry - Monday is coming! Then you'll relax more - I promise! - xoxo

Hazel Oh, no! now you've got "lazy nurse' the midwife version! I know thats not how you planned this - I'd hate to be stuck with someone like that during whats supposed to be a happy time - just awful! only 2 scans the whole time? Argh! I know that you can buy your own dopplar online - i'm pretty sure i've read around 75-100 dollars. At least then you can hear the HB any time you want to! i'm thinking that your pains are that round ligament stretching pains, you fit right in the time frame for them. if its not one thing, its another, right? much love - xoxo

Claudia I'm so glad you're here! i've been waiting for you! I know that nothing I say will make tomorrow come faster, but as long as your numbers are rising, thats what counts. Please keep in mind that FETs get a slower start too. HCG varies so much from person to person dont get too hung up on it. As long as its rising and your RE is happy - thats all that matters. Your numbers are pretty close to what mine were. I was another slow starting FET, remember? i hope that your clinic calls early tomorrow - we'll all be checking all day for you  just make it through tonight, thats all you have to do. Big hugs 7 prayers for your beta tomorrow! - xoxo

Gi, Ronda, Meganlynn, Karen - Hi - hope you guys are all doing well - how are you all feeling? I hate to do these short version on personals - but the stupid site ate my long posts! xoxo

Steph yay for health care that you're happy with! Awww, your DH sounds like the sweetest guy! telling everyone he meets... and having the sono pic as his screensaver? too sweet! i'm so happy for you both, you make an adorable couple - xoxo

KTelise I can imagine that the u/s wand can irritate the cervix, and so can Crinone. (I 've been having that issue)
about your ticker, mine wouldnt work until I manually unchecked the "disable BBCode" box - which is directly beneath the reply box, then just copy and paste ticker into your signature - I cant wait to see it!

Sorry to be so short, but I've got to get dinner started already! - xoxoxo

gi - Sorry to hear about your m/s after a nap, but I bet that nap feels good while you are getting it. I take naps too, I just can't fight the urge to close my eyes. Especially now that I am resting so much. I have to get up to go to the loo at 5am every morning, not 3 times a night though. WOW... I wonder if you have more than one in there?? What kind of little doggie do you have? I have a shih tzu, the cutest spoiled little pooch you'd ever meet.

Katie - What I do is copy what I have written just in case the site eats it. I had that issue before with posting bulletins on myspace when I first joined. Now I do it here just because I see it taking so long to process after hitting the submit button. Sometimes I will forget and I can copy the text before it is fully submitted. lol That's how slow it is at times. Good luck at your OB appt. Maybe they can give you a little advice on how to handle Aetna?

claudia - Thank you! I am trying to stay positive and keep imagining them healthy and getting bigger. I read that at 8 weeks they are considered fetus' now. Good luck tomorrow. I can't wait to see your BFP has doubled! :)

Well I spent an awful busy day at work and was glad to have my trusty Thursday night spin class to go to. It sure felt great to work. I also did arms and shoulders yesterday and am thoroughly enjoying my soreness in those muscles today. Friday is a day off from exercise and then I play tennis on Saturday mornings. I'll do this as long as I can and adjust as necessary. Now at the gym, I notice pregnant women EVERYWHERE. I've been an idiot walking up to them asking what they did throughout their pregnancies. Most are glad to share though. Home now and making my Southwest Tofu recipe for dinner. Anyone want the recipe? It's delicious! LOL

Claudia -- I completely understand how scary this is for you especially after your past experience. Your numbers are only a little on the slow rise side and I've certainly seen many a success story with slower rises and lower numbers than you've got. I really think you have a chance here. I'm pulling for you with everything I've got. I'm the queen of thinking the worst and reading too much into things when it comes to myself too.

Ronda -- Thanks for the support. I actually did your technique and repeated the things you said to!

ktelise -- Thanks for the info on the insurance. :D I never spotted after a transvaginal u/s, but I would think it could be possible.

Hazel -- Thanks for your positive words. I'm doing my best to stay optimistic. It's funny... even my RE told me we were going to grow athletes if IVF worked.

Steph -- You bet I'll shout it out!!! And your DH sounds adorable with his comments.

Gi-- I hope so! Is it Monday yet?

Katie -- Yes, I believe I will relax after Monday if it's good news. I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield. They don't know I'm pregnant yet. But I'm going to ask RE to bill Monday's u/s and bloodwork. They don't cover IVF because my company is self-insured, but I would hope they would cover prenatal care! Now I'm freaked out.

Lou - That's funny how you go up to pregnant people and ask them how they work out. I would be too scared to do that. I thought my ex's sister was pregnant when I first met her... nope, that is just her shape. So I've been scared to assume ever since even though sometimes it seems so obvious. :) As far as insurace, BC/BS is really good, one of the best to have. I used to have it growing up then again when I worked for them in Colorado. I rather have them than Tricare! As long as you don't have the rare HMO, your pregnancy will be well taken care of! I was able to pick the OB I wanted and most are participating with BC/BS so it's easy. I had a suite for a labor/delivery room. I loved that experience!!! I wouldn't have that if I didn't switch from Tricare Prime to Standard... the Army hospotal here makes you go from room to room and they are all itty bitty rooms. When you have a good insurace, you can research the hospital labor and delivery rooms and get a good OB that works at that hospital. It's a great freedom to have! :D

Hi everyone. I've been alittle quiet lately. Nausea comes and goes and just makes me feel like hell. Don't feel like doing anything!!!!!! No vomiting, thank goodness...just makes you feel off and like you ate something bad. hehehe. I'm not complaining...cause I'm thankful for my pregnancy. It's just a weird feeling to feel yucky days at a time. Next OB appt is Friday, April 5. I'll be just a day shy of 11 weeks then! Can't believe how time goes so fast! I'm only on my progesterone shot one more week! whoo woooo!

Lou- I"m sure your symptoms will come...even if just mild fatigue. I don't have full blown m/s. And if I was allowed to do my exercising...I think I would feel much better. But I am not allowed yet, so I'm just dealing with it. If you don't mind me asking...why hasn't your RE given you an u/s yet to confirm all is developing ok? I had one about a week or so after my second beta to check for the gestational and yolk sac. That's when I discovered my twins! Seems like a long time to make you wait for your first u/s. Or did I miss something?

Katie- did you go ahead and make an OB appt yet? Has your RE said why he won't release you? Anything he is holding you for an OB can do, too. I hope you are feeling better. I have on and off nausea that's pretty yucky. No vomiting...just makes me feel like crap. I haven't even had the motivation to go get my maternity jeans. I've been intending to go get them a week now! What style did you get at Old Navy?

Ktelise- I never spotted after a transvaginal u/s. My spotting was already occuring on and off...so it wasnt' attributed to the u/s.

Hazel- Your mid wife sounds like her job really is a big inconvenience to her. I'm sorry to hear you are having that experience! Kind of takes the joy out of your pregnancy medical care! Can't you see a regular OB (even one that isn't high risk...just a regular one)? It's funny...before I knew I am having twins, I watched a few videos about natural child birth and midwives, etc. I really wanted to do natural with the help of a midwife only (if all was deemed ok) at a birthing center. They came across as much more caring, intuitive to your needs, compassionate and less "medical" intervention. Almost made it sound like an OB would treat you like you have a disease instead of just a natural occurance of a pregnancy. But I guess every midwife is different. Sorry that is happening to you. be sure to ask for what you need.

Claud- we will be anxiously awaiting your next beta results. My first beta was only 71 at 8dp6dt. Two days later is was 161 (I think)...so you can imagine how surprised I was to learn I am having twins. Not a typical high beta for twins. So don't worry unless it doesn't increase hardly at all...which isn't your case. Sending you positive energy!

Steph- how are you and the twins doing? You feeling decent? Your DH sounds so proud. That's really sweet. My DH has started to "plan" the nursery furniture. He wants to custom build a chanding station with cabinets and stuff above to store things. Made me smile and melt alittle when he started going on about it.

Gi- Hope you feel better soon. I feel yucky, too...minus the vomiting. In a few weeks we'll all feel better!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! xo

Missed you guys. :(

Sorry I don't have time to properly catch up... i hope i can do some this weekend. we've been out of town for the past several weekends - except one, and that one I was practically crawling on the floor between the bed and toilet.
Image

thanks for all the encouragement - after talking to a pharmacist, I decided to hold off on asking the RE for more/increased meds. She highly recommended I stick with what I have and not to increase. So... I've been sticking it out. End up throwing up a bit more, but still less often. Only 1-3 times a day, instead of 6+. honestly, i dont' know how anyone has more than 1 child. working full time, taking care of ds and dealing with this is wearing me out. hugs to you all and hoping NO ONE has the m/s i've had.

hope to catch up soon.
