Gi, Lou and Ronda - WOO HOO!! I am so happy that you all saw your little beans with a great heaertbeat! I love great news!

Lou - Now you can scream from roof tops!! You will have to let us know how you and DH decide to do it. Phone calls? Big party? Now you can drink water without the twist! lol Your DH is funny with the whole Jupiter comment.

Gi - I bet you and j are both so excited. You will get past the 10 week mark! Not much longer now and you made it this far! Glad that it's one.. was almost convinced that you might have had two in there.

Ronda - Awesome news!! So what's your next step? Going to an OB or getting another scan in a few weeks?

Yay Ronda! -- So glad you have good news as well today! Congrats on your healthy little bean. I wish I had a heart rate, my RE said they don't measure them this early but that it looked perfectly normal and "strong". I guess that's good enough for me!

Karen -- Thanks for the advice. I will definitely take precautions when exercising.

Have a great Monday everyone!

Hi ladies!

Congrats to Gi, Lou, and Ronda for the great news!

Quick update on me - I'm 10 weeks the day after tomorrow! I can't believe I've made it this far. We had our first OB appointment and I 'graduated' from the fertility clinic last week. I was all choked up! I really love those gals at the clinic.

Anyway, the baby is doing great. We had the OB visit at 9 weeks, and the baby was going crazy - moving and wiggling and dancing around. Waving all his/her limbs at us. We loved it.

My official due date is Oct 26. :P

Has anyone decided about the sequential screen test yet? For downs and neural tube defects, etc? I know Karen got the pre-genetic screening so they are opting out. Anyone else? Our worry is that it comes back screen positive and then we would elect not to have any invasive procedures to confirm (amnio, etc), so we'd just be stuck worry for the rest of the 9 months...I'd love to hear what you ladies are planning.

My belly is growing growing! I can only wear one pair of jeans anymore - and that's with the pants unzipped and unbuttoned. I was worried about weight gain, but when we went to the OB, turns out I lost 5 pounds! So I guess is a belly baby and not extra belly fat :-) It's weird - all hard and solid. I never had much of a tummy, so I guess there was no where to hide. Wish I could say the same about my bum and thighs :-)

Hey girls....Congrats to Lou, gi and Ronda. I am so happy for you. Now you have your mind a peace.
Lou: Most of my closest friends did not have any pregnancy sysmptoms, they always felt like they were pregnant. I never totally believed them thinking they wanted to keep the information for themselves but now I see you are the same... Enjoy the symptoms free pregancy...
Gi: finally after waiting 7 long weeks until your first appointment, I am glad everything is okay. The next weeks will go by fast, then you can finally relax once you pass the 10 weeks time.
Ronda: congrats on the great heart beat
Merri: nice to hear from you, I am glad you are doing great. I am looking for an OB in northern VA area, do you know any to recommend?
Steph: Your dh is funny wanting to scream to news to everyone. My DH is exactly the same. I keep telling him to wait until wednesday for the u/s but I really would like to wait until 3 months at least. But I think DH will break to news to everyone by the end of this week...We will see hopefully he is able to stay quiet a while longer....
Hope: I hope your m/s get better. As soon as I let my stomach get empty, I do feel nauseus so I eat all the time even when I am not hungry but my symptoms are really nothing compared to yours. I hope you feel better soon....
Hazel: I am sorry your midwife is so lazy. I always wanted the midwife experience but if I have twins, I dont think I will do that...I hope she gets better and nicer as time goes on...
Katie99: I am sorry about your insurance headache. I have aetna also but I did not get any problems so far. They even covered my IVF cycle so I dont know what the difference is. I agree with everyone else, dont talk to them, they are sharks, I would not trust anyone...otherwise, how are you feeling?

AFM: nothing, nada, niet in my life. If I get my stomach empty by not eating I do get nauseus, so I have to eat all the time, but I am not hungry more than usual so I go for the crackers.... I am so happy to have a neighbor with whom I spend most of my day with. She babysit kids at her home so I usually go for 1 or 2 hours get a tea or something and spend my time with her....I am waiting for my u/s on wednesday and I am trying to have my dh quiet a little longer. He wants to tell the news to everyone. I want to wait until the 3 month mark. He is like that. When he makes me a surprise, it is never a surprise because he is soo happy to tell me about what he is doing for me... sooo cute but common now...Love to everyone. I am sorry if I forgot anyone, I am thinking of you.

Hi girls,

Ronda and Lou thank goodness ye got on great too such a relief!!!

Positivethinking your dh sounds like a child at xmas soooo cute i doubt he will hold the secret further than thurs!!! Best of luck i really hope all goes well, my nausua sounds exactly like yours i have to eat every couple of hours or i feel ill i cant let myself get too hungary or i will get weak and shaky as well so i am grazing like you with crackers and fruit.

ktelise i also have a weak cervix (it bleeds very easily) and normally i would only have 1 wk of no spotting during a normal AF month, so far in this pregnancy i have not spotted (touch wood!) but we are def. avoiding sex and exercise as this is what causes me to bleed and i too would freak out - i did get it tested a few yrs ago and i am fine they say its common just a little weak area on my cervix the day they tested it i wasnt bleeding so she got a plastic spatula and said watch this she barely touched the area and i started spotting it lasted 3 wks!!!

Merri a halloween baby!!! No we are not getting tested actually not sure if they offer them routinely here in Ireland we will be delighted to have whatever baby we are given. I only have 3 jeans left that fit though 1 of them is getting a bit snug though i reckon its cause i havent exerised in about 8 wks and i used to exercise daily. After we got back from the clinic i changed into sweats and j said now i can finally tease you over your swollen belly! He was afraid to acknowledge it was growing in case there was a prob now he is delighted - i too always had a very flat stomach and its great to see it growing!!!

Katie hows the ms today???

Again thanks girls for all your support i may not have survived without it!!! Though i reckon i may need a lot more over the next few wks

gi xxx
7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!

PositiveT,

cannot wait until your u/s on Weds. I am thinking twins with your high #'s!

hazel,

your midwife does not sound at all what I think of when I think of a midwife. I always thought they were there to really help the mom and advocate for her (not act bitchy about finding a heartbeat for heavens sake.....it takes seconds to find the h/b and reassure momma).

Claudia,

Woohooo for your beta! that is wonderful.

Merri,

wow, soon to be 10 weeks. That is so cool. Are you any more relaxed about this pg now??? or just worrying about new things? I will have the screening for all the "things". If I remember correctly, OB sends me to a specialist at about 16-18 weeks for a 3-D scan. They don't do the blood screening for me because my age will mess with the results (at least that is what they told me last time.......basically telling me I am old for having babies, in a nice way of course!)

Hi everyone -

Lou I'm so happy for you! Now it feels more real, doesnt it? My RE didnt measure Hbs at 6weeks either, just said "theres a strong hb" so I guess we'll be waiting to hear how many BPM until the 1st OB appt. I cant say that my abs are sore, but my entire lower abdomen has felt really tender and bloated for a while now ( another thing to blame on the progesterone) that tender feeling is why I went to get maternity jeans so early, anything tight was bothering me. So i'll bet that you and your DH will be carrying around your sono pics now? I ended up putting them on that magnet paper to stick them on the fridge - yes, I know I'm a dork. Did you tell your RE how lucky you 've been so far without s/s?

Gi I'm so happy for you! I know that you were a little worried, hopefully now you can relax and have the next 3 weeks pass quickly so you can relax even more! When is your EDD? Did you get a sono picture? I'll bet that J is ready to take it with him to show everyone!

Ronda I'm so happy for you! uh, oh if they wont do a blood screen on you, then I guess they wont do one for me either - since I've got 2 years on you.
Jeez - I cant wait until I get to see the OB on friday- I feel so clueless about prenatal screenings.

KTelise Yep, i'm in the same boat as you with these progesterone levels. I didnt know that a 10 point increase was what they're looking for (thanks) I have my fingers crossed that ours both go up so we can start to get weaned off of these darn shots already! How are you feeling? I cant wait to see your ticker

Hope Are you feeling any better? Hope that you're squeezing in enough rest whenever you can - with a full time job and a little guy at home, I cant imagine thats an easy task.

Hazel Ooooh, sounds like you had a fun weekend! But shouldnt everyone be catering TO the pregnant woman? At least you're feeling more like yourself lately. Good to hear, it gives me hope that that this exhaustion will pass eventually!

Steph UGH! Me too! Both of my hips are knotted up so much! I swear each night it takes longer and longer to find a spot to fit in between all the lumps
I've done the heating pad and a firm massage every time - but then my DH said "well, you've been doing a injection every night since the last week of January!"
Hmmm, if he had to have just 1 IM injection i'd have to hear about it for days.... How goes the spotting? How are you feeling? When is your next appt?

Merri I cant answer your question - because I still havent been released! But I made my 1st OB appt anyway...

Positive Aetna has so many different tiers of plans - only the top 2 or 3 cover ivf. My DH has a union job so there was not a chance of getting the union to switch plans. Good luck with your u/s on Wed! I cant wait to hear how many you've got! Aw, your DH sounds so sweet!

Claudia Happy Passover! Hope you stop by soon! How are you feeling? I hope that you're not too nervous for your u/s on Wed?

AFM I've been really lucky theses last few days and hardly any m/s! But instead I'm still beyond tired and have inherited heartburn and indigestion instead. Plus I've been having odd and sometimes a little sharp pains on my left side? I refuse to try to analyze these things anymore  I'll check in tomorrow after my 4 hrs in the car to go have a 2 minute blood draw - yay? And my darn progesterone had better have increased too!

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

gi - Thanks for the info. on the weak cervix. This is new to me. My doctor said I could stop my baby asprin and now the spotting has stopped. It makes me nervous to stop but now the spotting is gone so go figure...

Is anyone not taking baby asprin or stopped already?
