I'm really sorry that you were canceled. Honestly, I don't know why I wasn't. My RE told me that my chances are significantly lower with the 2 that I have. But i'm also thinking that is has something to do with my body's response to the meds. Since one of my tubes were removed, there was alot of damage to my tube and ovary and appendix during my last pregnancy. That's why my left ovary isn't functioning at all and the right, well it's trying but they believe this is as good as it going to get. I'm thinking that it depends on your situation and your RE. Ghost has explained to me that each RE and protocol is different. I really hope that everything works out for you and your RE determines a plan that will work better for you. You and the other ladies have provided solid support that I can only get from here. Know that we are praying for you ((((Big Hugs)))))

Just wanted to see how things are going and to update you all on my ultrasound.

Marci- I am so sorry for your cancellation. I can not remember for the life of me but one of these awesome ladies on these boards has a quote that has gotten me through the hard times with IVF and I think it is something that all of us can relate to. "Never give up on something you can not go a day without thinking about”. You can do this. You are a strong women and you deserve to be a mother. Keep your chin up!
To all the other ladies out there, you all are movin right along. Stay strong and lots of PMA coming your way from me!!
AFM- My 6week 1 day ultra sound was today and boy did we get a huge shock. 2 sacs and 2 heartbeats. Yep twins!! I really thought for sure just one, but I guess not. All I am seeing is $$$ signs. LOL! See my signature for the heart beats per minute. They are strong little beans.

I think it's great they are checking on you girl. Check for that cause you should not transfer if you are hyperstimulate. But you will know it you will have hot flashes and feel really really sick.

Hang in there girl. I bet 18 fetilize and you get 12 embies to freeze and transfer 2-3

Good Morning Ladies

I keep telling myself that this is not the end of the world, that I am healthy and loved, have a great family and so forth but still I am so damn sad. I thought it would be easier being cancelled the second time around but it hurts just as much. I read on the board about people going to ER with 2 eggs and my heart feels angry that my RE would not even give me the chance with three, or the chance to stim longer... They said the odds were not good and because I am cash pay it would save me money. I am supposed to make an appointment today to meet with RE for yet another plan. We now need to do something to improve egg quantity. I have read some where about a protocol that does not use BCP, does anyone know anything about this, I think the BCP (which I could never take when I was younger) are in some way hampering things...or does anyone know of or have used something that increases the numbers of eggs??? I feel like I am grasping at straws here....lost... sad... and depressed.

I am trying to update the board please forgive me if I missed anyone and please help me get back on track.

My love to all for your kindness support and words of encouragement. They mean alot. I am at the point where I think I only have one last try left in me. IVF affects not only your body and mind, but your relationship with everyone around you. I am and have always been a very strong person...lately I feel like I could very easily be one of my own mental health patient, that concerns me more than the thought of not concieving.

Marci - I am so so sorry you are going through this. Next cycle will be the one for you!! I did not use BCP with either of my cycles. It's my understanting that many clinics use BCPs to get groups of people on the same cycle so that they have a lot of control over scheduling. There are other reasons for using BCPs also, so I'm not sure why you have been put on them. Here is my protocol for the past two cycles (both BFPs):

1. Call with Day 1 of period - begin 10 days of doxycycline (me and DH)
2. Start 10 of Lupron on day 22 (don't even need to call and tell them or be seen)
3. Call to report my period or call after 2 weeks with no period.
4. Baseline US/BW scheduled a few days after lupron period. Continue lupron until told to stop.
5. If down regulated, can start stimming, at which time the lupron stops.
6. Alternate 225 IU/150 IU of Gonal -F for 4 days and go for US/BW on day 5 of stims.
7. Had 8 follies this cycle on day 5 of Stims. Told to continue 225 IU and come back on day 9 for US/BW. Had more eggs than last scan, can't remember how many.
8. 225 IU Gonal F on day 10, trigger with Ovidrel on Day 11.
9. ER on day 13
10. 3dt - 2 8 cell embies, none of the others made it to freeze.

I hope this helps in some way - if you want to try a cycle without BCP and your RE won't do it, then maybe it's worth looking for a new RE. Remember, you know yourself best and are your biggest advocate! Hang in there - your day will be here soon!!

Marci - Stay strong! I was given the cancellation warning last cycle and I was so disappointed. I can't imagine what you are going through. I don't respond well to the meds. My 1st cycle I did just Gonal F and only got 12 eggs, 6 of which fertilized and none to freeze. 2nd cycle my RE had me mix Menopur with Gonal F. I had nothing for days so I was given the cancellation warning. I finally started responding and ended up with 15 eggs. I had to do stims for 13 nights which was alot longer than everyone I was cycling with. Hopefully your RE will have a new protocol for you. It sucks, but for every cycle we do they are learning what to do different next time, which is why it takes a lot of us more than one try.

Emma - 2 dozen eggs!!! No wonder you felt bloated! I think you will get a great report.

afm just got my instructions to continue my same dosage of gonal-f, and will be back on wednesday morning for my first SnS while on stims. i'm kinda surprised they didnt add the menopur to my mix yet, but we'll see how wednesday goes. my E2 levels were only 46 today after 2 full days of stims. it kinda has me worried, but my E2 levels are never huge no matter what. i just hope i have a few good follies growing at an even rate on wednesday. everyone please cross whatever you have for me to have some good follies growing (seriously i will be happy with 4 or 5 good ones!!) send me all the good vibes you got ok?? (ok i'm more worried then i'm letting on!!)
ok off to make the matzo ball soup!!

Franny - what dose Gonal F are you on? I have been sick all weekend! I never tasted matzo ball soup, but it's funny cuz I used to serve it at an old age home 20 years ago.

lauren- i'm on 225 units of gonal-f am and pm...so 450 units a day. from what i remember its the highest dose you can take in a day....my endo sucks!!

Franny - I was on 600 a day my first cycle! I went through almost 8 pens! My friends who have had IVF never went higher than 150, so they thought it was crazy lol. Last time I did 450 mixed with 150 Menopur. Twice a day though? How cone not all at night?

Franny Happy Passover! I dont exactly know what it means, but you have a good time anyway! Dont feel bad you're not on the highest dose, 600iu is the usually the highest but they can push you to 750iu if needed (it happened to me once - boy, was I miserable) Your E2 levels arent measured the same on an Antagonist protocol, Ganirelix is known to show a false lower response, so dont stress the rule of thumb of 100-200 points per mature follie -that only works for a Lupron protocol. My RE never added in Menopur and Ganirelix until the follies were 12-14 mm, so you've got few more days til then. I'm reading along and I'm so crossed for you that my arms hurt! I want so badly for this to be it for you! You just relax and grow those follies! much love & kisses - xoxo

Marci I had the best response with an EPP/Antagonist (estrogen priming) I've done it with BCPs for only 10 days to quiet the ovaries. There really isnt anything that can be done to increase the number of follies (DOR dimished ovarian reserve) but for us poor responders we need all the help that we can get. If your RE isnt willing to think outside of the box then perhaps a different RE can be more aggressive? My RE tried every protocol on me from microdose Lupron to Antagonist to EPP/Antagonist to IVM/IFV
If you're thinking of just one more try then make sure that you get the best chance possible. You dont want to think "what if" later on. Dont just let your RE push you to donor egg if you're not ready. like Helene mentioned the other option of donor embryo is a lot less expensive than a 30k donor egg cycle!

Well ladies I get to trigger tonight and go for ER on Wed at 8am! I think we'll get up to 14 but I'll let you know after the procedure. I'm totally anxious and had such a crappy day at work that when I got the call to trigger I had to remove myself from my desk, lock myself in the bathroom, and cry. But I'm excited to be nearly done ya'll!

Wow, everyone else is on so much more than me. I know my RE is being uber-conservative d/t my medical history, but wow... No BCP or Lupron or anything for me, just 112.5/day of Follistim started on day 2, then added in Cetrotide at day 5 this cycle and last. Not like I had a gazillion follies, just 6 the 1st time, but they all fertilized. 7 so far this time, maybe they'll see more after tomorrow's SnS. Fingers crossed, PMA for me and all of you!!
