Stephanie -- You bet we will scream from the rooftops! We have told some close friends and will tell our families when we see them on Easter. Neither of us has told folks at work yet. I am a manager and supervise 70 employees so I will do it at our late April staff meeting.
Katie -- Thanks! yes, RE did say I was lucky but that it's still possible to get m/s! We shall see. We do have our sono pics with us! It was amazing to see that little heart beating away and he/she is only a 1/2 inch long. Glad your m/s is at bay but heart burn sucks too! TUMS TUMS!!!
Positive -- Good Luck on tomorrow's u/s! Is this your first one?
Merri -- I haven't thought about testing yet. I'm still just recently convinced I'm really preggo!!! How is sequential screen testing done? If it's non-invasive, then I would probably do it.
AFM -- DH and I are going to plan a two week trip to Europe in early June . It will be the last time we get away together for a while. Also it will be to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. We told a few close friends our news and of course they were all really happy, but very surprised . How many couples have their first baby after 15 years of marriage? Most had given up on us. We will tell my family (Aunt, Uncle, cousins) on Easter but will probably invite my in-laws over after Easter and tell them when it's just us. There will be too many distractions there on Sunday. Yes, DH and I have to do TWO Easters! Aren't we lucky?
Lou--- 1 beautiful baby girl from a single 8 cell embie in Sept 2011
Hurray for gi, Ronda and lou all having such great news yesterday!! When do you all have your next appointments?
lou - has it sunk in yet for you now??? See, we all told you that you were definitely pregnant, m/s or no m/s! Now just cross your fingers that it stays away for the whole pregnancy! Where are you going to visit in Europe in June?
Katie - thanks for your concern about my pains last week. Yes, it is around the right time for me to get some ligament pains, but I expected those on the left & right sides, and what was worrying me was that the pain was (a) quite severe and (b) in the middle of my stomach and low down, as if it was at the bottom of my uterus near the cervix. Hence the panic! I'm far less anxious now though having heard the heartbeat last Wednesday - I think maybe I'm finally learning to relax and enjoy this pregnancy a little! I'm dying to know how your blood work went today, and whether you are now officially released to the OB! Oh, and try not to worry about your own pains, I started having dull aches combined with the odd painful twinges all over the place (but mostly on left and right sides) from about 8 weeks. It's just things stretching and moving into place, some people seem to feel everything and some are lucky and it all happens without them feeling what's going on. I kept repeating to myself that if the pains weren't combined with bleeding, there was nothing to worry about. And believe me, if you are anything like me, you'll be having aches and pains for weeks and weeks, so get used to it!
Karen - unfortunately, no, I can't see an OB (well, not without going with private medical care out of pocket) - you only get to see a consultant at the hospital if you are put into the high risk category. So I'm stuck with unhelpful midwife! I've heard so many great stories from friends about their midwives that I think I must have just been unlucky to get the 1 in 1000 who isn't much good! Hope your m/s is behaving itself - won't be long and it will be easing up properly. I started noticing a gradual improvement at 12 weeks onwards.
Hope - oh honey, I'm so sorry to read about how bad your m/s is. Mine was pretty bad but not as bad as yours, I don't think - I vomited a lot and wasn't able to keep much down, but was lucky in that I'm not working so I was able to spend most of my time in bed or lying on the sofa with my sick bucket. I hope the Zofran is still helping you get through it, just tell yourself that it won't last forever. And on the bump front, oh yes! For people who knew me well, they could tell at 9 weeks that I was pregnant (mind you, lying in bed all day thanks to m/s doesn't help!), at 12 weeks it was obvious to absolutely anyone and at 16 weeks I had people commenting on how big I was already, asking whether I'm sure there's only one in there and saying I'm going to be huge by my due date. Well, thanks....hahaha. So obviously that thing about not showing for a first pregnancy until about 4 months doesn't apply to everyone! I've gained about 3-4kg so far, and it all seems to have gone into the bump because it's huge! Oh well, what can you do, there'll just be a little more weight than I expected for me to lose after the baby arrives!
Claudia - nice beta rise! Good luck for your u/s tomorrow, let us know how you get on.
Positive - likewise, good luck for your u/s tomorrow!
Stephanie - how are you doing? Good to read over the weekend that the spotting isn't red any more - has it stopped completely now? Are you still suffering with the PIO shots?
ktelise - happy to hear that the spotting has stopped, that must be such a relief. I was never on aspirin at all, so I'm sure that if your RE tells you it's fine to stop taking it, it is. Love the ticker, by the way!
Merri - good to hear from you, and to hear that everything's going well. You asked about the screening tests - I had the Nuchal scan at 11wks3days to assess the Downs syndrome risk (I think it tested for a couple of other things as well) and everything came back as low risk. It is an u/s (they measure the space at the back of the baby's neck and check for various other things which can indicate Downs) combined with a blood test. Had the assessment turned out to be high risk, I'm pretty sure we would have chosen not to do any further invasive tests (like an amnio) due to the miscarriage risk, and we wouldn't consider termination in any event, but at least we would have been able to mentally prepare for the possibility that the baby might have Downs. But it's personal choice. Good luck and let us know what you decide to do.
Sorry to anyone I've missed!
AFM, I think the 16 week mark was a bit of a turning point for me - I haven't had any m/s for a week, only mild and occasionally medium heartburn and indigestion (acupuncture has been AMAZING for reducing that particular pregnancy symptom), last week's awful abdominal pain has subsided into the usual aches and twinges, and generally I'm feeling a bit more energetic. I had a relatively busy week last week and a houseful of friends + children over the weekend and I managed to cope and didn't have to take to my bed vomiting, so I really feel that I've turned a corner. I've even had a half glass of wine in the evenings the last couple of weekends, and have really enjoyed it - dangerous, because now that the m/s has passed and I've got my taste for wine back, I'm going to have to exercise self-control for the remainder of my pregnancy! Anyway, it all makes me very excited about going on holiday in just under 3 weeks, I actually feel as if I may be able to properly enjoy it!!
Oh, and one more bit of news from my end, I couldn't sleep last night and about 4.30am, I could have sworn that I felt the baby moving around - it was about an inch below my belly button, and was a strong on/off fluttering sensation that lasted for about 5 minutes. Needless to say, I was beyond excited (it took all my self-control not to wake DH up to tell him what was happening) but unfortunately even though I've been hoping to feel it again today, it hasn't come back (yet). So I'll just have to see what happens over the next few days!

Hazel - Awesome news to feel the baby move! I bet that was exactly what it was! How exciting! It's still early to feel your baby all that often so don't worry. Just feel blessed with those little flutters while they last... before they turn into big kicks and punches. I am doing well. The spotting is still going on, but brown and not enough to reach the pad so that's good. I read that these bleeds take a few weeks to go away so I am not going to worry as long as it stays light and I have no cramps.
Lou - Two Easters, wow! At least you get to keep seeing everyone's excited faces when you tell them you are preggers!! A trip to Europe sounds so romantic and fun! I have been wanting to go for a tour forever! I am stuck reading about it for quite a while before we can actually go though. Where in Europe do you think you will go? A few countries or roam around one?
Katie - Did your progesterone increase? I got my results today! I know what you mean about trying to find a good place to stick in between the bumps. I told a friend earlier about the knots. She said I must be attached to them by now. I said... Oh yes, so much so that I have named them all after the seven dwarfs. That sucks you have to drive so far for just b/w. Blah! Hopefully that m/s is still at bay. Mine is slowly creaping back after about a week of it being at bay.
Positive - I would have liked to be able to have the self control to wait 3 months. lol I held it in until the beta and I couldn't do it anymore, neither could DH. Maybe you should try to keep your DH from spilling the news too soon since tomorrow he might have to retell everyone if it is twins. Your beta was higher than mine so either you have a really strong HCG triggering baby in there or you might have two?? Can't wait to hear from you tomorrow!
How are you other mommies??
AFM - I got my lab results back for today. My estrogen has basically doubled and my progesterone is up from 46 to 54. Numbers are great, good enough for me to go from two 2mg tabs of estrodol a day to one a day, but I am to stay on the same amount of POI until further notice, mostly because I am only 8 weeks and still bleeding a bit and RE doesn't want to take any chances. So I go back next Tuesday to find out more. I am glad to know my levels are rising like they should though. More reassurance for panicky me. My belly is swelling up too... becoming more and more obvious. I love it. lol Not much else is going on except we are moving soon. Just to a bigger better place on post. I should be getting the call saying it is ready this week or next. Can't wait! We get a new 4 bedroom. Right now we are in the oldest homes on Fort Hood, they say Elvis stayed here when he was in the service. They were built in 1948 and used to be barracks. The plumbing is so bad the maintenace guy told us not to drink it, not even to cook with it and a filter won't do much to help. Nice huh? They have roaches here in Texas the size of mice and they call them "water bugs". A roach is a roach, I don't care what they call them, they are nasty and some of them fly!! These things live in the walls of these older homes. EWW!! So I can't wait to move!!!

TWINS!! Born 10/13/10 Ethan Andrew and Angelina Lilly
Hi everyone, thank you for the kind thoughts....so I have triplets....nooooo just kidding....
I actually had twins but only one has a heartbeat at 159. We are a little disappointed and sad that one of our embies did not make it. I still have it inside and they say it might disolve with time. However I am very very grateful I have one healthy embryo. My next appointment is on april 12, and then I am released to OB. It does feel more real and exciting. I have a picture but it is a big blur. The cool part is we saw the baby's heart bitting on the ultrasound machine. That was pretty cool and surreal.
I'm so happy! I justgot back my b/w results from yesterday and finally my progesterone went up its over 80!
So they'll wean me off of the PIO injections YAY! Today & tomorrow I'll go down to 0.5ml and then after that just do 2 Crinone a day - So tomorrow will be my last shot!!
Thank God because my hips are in poor shape from being on PIO shots since the last week of Jan! My E2 was 697 and they're happy with that, but of course my RE being as cautious as he is, still wants 1 more b/w done on the 13th. Oh, well I suppose he'll release me someday
And my nausea has disappeared, my boobs arent hurting anymore either. Hooray for feeling normal! Now the exhaustion hasnt subsided at all though, now I'm wondering if thats because of my age? I guess how pregnancy affects your body is a good reason to do this while you're younger - Ahh, I've never done things when I was expected to anyway. ha ha I've been reading up and it seems as though the sac should now be the size of a large grapefruit - which is funny to me since the baby is the size of a prune - hey! thats ALOT of extra room in there! No wonder I cant even lay down on my stomach long enough for the PIO shot anymore! I just figured it would be a while more before feeling so uncomfortable? If I press on my stomach I can feel like a hard spot (too weird!) I cant wait to have my 1st OB appt friday - I counted and realized that i havent had an u/s in 4 weeks now! (Sorry Hazel I know you're feeling u/s deprived!)
Karen I know all about feeling clueless! if I start to think of how little we know about babies it gets sort of scary! but still super exciting! Oh, How great to have a DH handy enough to make built in storage with a changing table! My DH likes to think he's handy - but ummm, no, not so much How are you and the beans feeling?
Lou With as much as I love hot, spicy food tums doesnt cut it for me - now zantac is my frined Wow! married 15 years? Congratulations! Soon there will be 3 in your family! Will you tell your relatives outright? Or are you going to plan something cute? Like giving out Easter eggs with their titles on them ? Aunt? Grandpa? Uncle? Neither DH or I really have family so I would have loved to do something silly like that - Yes, I know - i'm a dork
Hazel Hooray for the end of m/s! You poor girl - I think you've had it worst and the longest! It must be so nice to have your life back
How awesome to have felt flutterings already! I've heard that they can be felt as early as 16 weeks, but that 20 weeks is usual. I dont know HOW you DIDNT wake up your DH to tell him! I would have been ready to burst with news like that! Where are you going on holiday? I'm sorry, but I cant remember if you've told us already? Oooh, I would love a holiday anywhere! But there are still lots of ivf bills
Steph Yiiipppee for good numbers! NO YIPPEE for water bugs! I remember those things from when I lived down south - YUK! No bug THAT BIG should be able to fly!! And they are aggressive too! if I have to see a bug- I prefer the scared and take off when they see people kind! I guess its true then ? About everything being bigger in Texas? Tee Hee! Oooh, you must be thrilled to be getting a new house! YAY! I'm really surprised that they would put you in housing with water that bad? But back when I was an Army wife, my exDH was an MP - so it was too much drama to live next to guys that you just arrested - so we always lived off post. Just please dont be lifting too much! Let DH and some buddies do all the lifting please Mama to 2! But then again, the way your DH seems to be - he probably wont let you lift anything anyway!
Gi & Ronda How are you guys feeling?
Positive Hooray for a HB of 159! Now you will relax a bit more. Are you still planning a trip home? Bet it was too surreal when you saw the HB? How are you feeling?
hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Positive - YAY for a strong healthy heartbeat! My heart goes out to the one that didn't make it. I face that fear every day wondering if my next appt will show the same thing. I have known people who have had this happen as well. It is ok to feel over joyed for your miracle and it's ok if you want to do something special (just you and DH) for the twin. I have known someone to take an u/s pic and do a small personal memorial between her and her DH. On a happier note, I am so excited for your little miracle!
Kaite - Awesome that your feeling better. Though I am not sure that age has anything to do with feeling tired. I am always taking naps or feeling like I should. lol My boobs are still sore but better then they were a few weeks ago. I notice that when I wear a bra it is worse. I take the bra off and my boobs feel like rocks as they come out of it. lol Then they are sore. I have been getting some of that lingering m/s. Just nausea still, I suppose I should be thankful nothing has come up but it still sucks. Yes, moving will be awesome! I can't wait! I don't plan on moving or lifting anything and you are right... not like Andrew would let me anyway. We have movers that will move our stuff but they don't unpack. They do put furniture where it should be at least. I am sure DH will have a few soldiers over to help, then I also will be moving across the street from my point of contact in the FRG so I am sure she will get the FRG to help too. About everything being bigger in Texas... yeah uhh... not so much. Just the bugs and the electric bills. Seriously! The electric bills are the whole reason we moved on post. The house we lived in was a hella small 3bed 2bath and we were paying 850 plus all utilities. Electric was 444 for the first month, couldn't pay it and by the time the next one rolled around it was up to 934! I said at that time that we were moving on post and haven't looked back. In CO we got so much more for our money and the cost of living is higher there. Go figure. A 4 bedroom 3 bath off post would easily cost us 1300 (or more) a month plus all utilities, no way we can afford that on an E5 pay. We pay 1014 from BAH and get a new 4 bed 3 bath on post all inclusive, can't beat that. Anyway... I think I just wrote you a book.
Lou - Katie had a good idea! Planning on putting some buns in the oven or any subtle little hints like that? That would be hilarious. I thought about doing something like that when I told DH I was pregnant. I ended up telling him I made him a present. He was all shocked that I made him something. Here he opens the box and it is a positive pregnancy test. Boy did he go berzerk when he saw it. That would be a good idea to POAS for each immediate family member... but maybe not since it is "pee on a stick". I am sure no matter how you decide to give the news, it will be great!

Katie - Congrats on the progesterone going up! Your little bump sounds like it growing at a great rate. I can't wait until I have a huge belly
Positive - Congrats on seeing the heartbeat. That is just the best, isn't it? I'm sorry about embie #2 -- we also transferred two but we are having a singleton. It took me a few days to stop feeling sad about it - the worst part is I have a picture of the two embies, I don't know which one made it! I'm sure it is for the best - and if you're like me, I'm really really glad I'm having a singleton.
AFM -- I had my last PIO shot and estrial pill last night!!!! WHOOO HOOO. I am so excited. DH and I are going to celebrate tonight I think with some a non-alcoholic toast It's been a long hard haul. I realized that for the past year solid I have been pretty much on serious drugs the whole time. It's so nice to be 'natural' now.
Is anyone else having weird abdominal muscle pains? Usually it happens when I change positions or stand up quickly. I've read about it, but it's a little unnerving when it happens. I'm at 10 weeks today and I do feel like the naseau is slowly subsiding - although, like Katie, I'm still tired as hell. And boy my boobs are getting big! Double whooo hooo.

I am so happy you got to see the heatbeat. I am sorry to hear about embie #2, its always hard when they don't make it. However, HURRAY, for the one that did!
Katie,
Your RE is just being cautious and wants to keep monitoring you. You two have been thru alot together and he wants to get to hold your newborn! Hurray for almost being done with PIO!. I am breathing a sigh of relief for you!
Steph,
The new place sounds like it will be nice, you make sure you take it easy with the unpacking part! You are cooking two beans in there and that is hard work! Glad to hear your numbers are great! I remember the "water bugs" I saw when I was in FL, that really creeped me out!
Merri,
No more PIO for you! that is wonderful! I remember the wierd ab pain from my last pg, it is disconcerting, I always ran to the bathroom just to check for bleeding. Never bled, but boy sometimes it sure hurt! Glad to hear the nausea is going away and you are growing a set to rivel Pamela Anderson!
lou,
your vaca sounds like heaven!. Enjoy it, after baby comes, those vacations will change quite a bit!. Cannot wait to hear how you are going to tell family the awesome news!
Hazel,
Glad to hear your m/s is going away. I know how miserable it is! I still feel pretty yucky most of the day, sometimes throwing up and sometimes not. I have also figured out not to overeat (which basically means I eat a little bit, most of the day!), that really makes me miserable!
afm, broke out the bella bands this morning. I can button my pants, but by afternoon I am so bloated and uncomfortable I cannot hardly stand it. Have also discovered anything tight on my tummy makes the nausea worse. I also wish the constipation would go away.....ugh its awful. I know that is part of my feeling yucky, but between the progesterone and the pg hormones slowing things down, I think its a lost cause! I feel kinda like a budda with my round looking belly poking out, I cannot believe I am "pooching" already. I'm only 7 weeks but cannot wear my fitted shirts anymore, otherwise, it would be pretty obvious I am pg or drank way too much beer!

Merri - YAY no more shots!!! Maybe you can celebrate with some chocolate milk. I have pain sometimes when I move too. Not too sure if it is the same pain you are feeling. It's more uncomfortable than a pain. I just chalk it up stretching. Sometimes I get it if I lay to one side to quickly or in a certain way. I feel them more on the sides, like in the ovary area.
Ronda - I feel you. I just bought those bigger pants that I swim in but my belly is already not liking it. If they were just a little more stretchy and tigher around the legs! I guess I will have to give in and get some maternity pants. This way my legs won't be wading in these jeans anymore and my belly will be happy.

Positive -- I'm so happy you have a healthy baby in there! Sorry for your vanishing twin, but overall you have lot's to celebrate. I totally relate to it being surreal to see that tiny heartbeat. My u/s photo is a blob too...lol. But go to this website and see what that blob would look like up close. It's amazing. http://www.i-am-pregnant.com/pregnancy/calendar/week/7
Claudia -- Update from your u/s? Good news I hope.
Katie -- On to Zantac, huh? You poor thing. It must be the heartburn from hell. I've actually been craving spicy foods like Thai and Indian lately. How weird is that? Hooray for weaning off PIO! I'm so jealous!!! My tush is so bruised and sore.
Steph -- Yes, Katie's idea was a good one. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to tell the fam on Sunday. I think I need to think more about it...lol. Now I feel like I need to be creative!
Ronda -- I hear you on the constipation issue! That's really my only symptom. But it's not fun at all. I also have increased saliva in my mouth. It's pretty gross too....lol.
Merri -- Yay for your final PIO shot! My last one cannot come soon enough. As for muscle pain, I have pain on the sides of my abdomen when I cough sometimes. Feels like muscles or ligaments or something.
AFM -- Still not a bit of m/s for me thank goodness since I work so much. I did receive my PIO wean schedule. I go to 1/2 ml on 4/18 for 3 days and take my last shot on 4/20. So I stop at 10 weeks. I told DH that he'd think it strange but my mouth is constantly watering. And he said "yeah, I read that in your book... it said something about excessive drooling." OK, it's not quite THAT bad. He's pretty funny. I'm having dinner with friends on Saturday so I will tell a few more people. DH is staying home to watch the Final Four basketball tournament. He went to Butler University so he's pretty excited they are in it. I also went to a good friends house last night and told her. I wasn't sure how she would take it because she's single, 36 years old, and wants nothing more than to find Mr. Right and have a baby. But she genuinely seemed happy for me. So I'm glad I have her for that. My gay best friend told me I have to name the baby "Court" if it's a boy. I told him not a chance in hell! Is that even a name? So DH and I are having dinner with him and his partner on Friday and he texted me "make sure you bring Court". I texted back "ASS!!. And he said "no, I won't call him/her ASS, I'll call him Court!" So everyone is loving this so far. I'm blessed to have good friends and lots of support right now. I'm not telling my staff at work until the end of April at our staff meeting. And I think we'll wait until after Easter to tell DH's family unless he really wants to. There will just be too many people there and I was hoping to at least get his parents alone for the news. They will be floored. DH's younger siblings all have kids and his parents had given up on us. Also, my travel agent is working on our "Baby Moon" trip to Europe. We will definitely go to Prague for a few days as DH has always wanted to go there. We will likely go via a large European city such as Paris or Rome, whatever works out best price wise. I haven't been to Paris in years, so that's my vote. Although I do love Rome and we typically head to Italy every couple of years or so. So we shall see. I'll keep you guys posted!

ktelise i am on baby aspirin till 12 wks but that may change as i will be released to my OB by then and he said after my mc's he may keep me on it till 32 wks so we will see. I am glad the spotting has stopped seems to be related. Cute ticker.
Lou sounds like you have a busy Easter have fun telling everyone. Where in Europe are you going on hols??
Claud i saw the good news on the sac congrats, will keep all me fingers and toes crossed for fetal pole etc next scan. Go on add a ticker be positive this baby is here to stay xxx
AFM i rang the OB i will be released to, we are going thro. public system as we cant afford the private but its a good system and they will see you at anytime if you have probs. I have organised my 1st scan with them at 12 wks if all goes well will go back to my own gp and talk about going back to work, j doesnt want me too as its very stressful so will see what doc says, financally we will manage as long as all the bills are paid we dont mind and the baby will always come first.

7th IVF finally our precious miracle girl Kayla born 24/11/10, 8th IVF FET Sept 2012 BFP!!!
Its TRIPLETS!!!!
I guess I can finally feel good about jumping to the "other side". I am on the March/April board right now so we'll see how good I do at keeping everyone/everything straight (I'll blame pregnancy for the memory loss )
So...I am just over 6 weeks pregnant through DE cycle. Last week I had a major scare as I bled heavily and thought for sure I was miscarrying. RE checked and said everything was okay. We went for the first u/s today and got 2 heartbeats There was some fluid still but RE thinks it will reabsorb. My DH doesn't know what to think about twins but I'm sure he'll be excited soon! We have a six year old DD and have trying to conceive for 4+ years. I'm excited it worked this time!
I'm excited to catch up with all of you and hopefully can post personals soon!
Take care,
Sara
