Anyone have PGD done and everything turn out okay? If so, how many embryos were tested? MY husband has a translocated chromosome, i have suffered 3 miscarriages, and our genetic counselor told us we have a 70% chance of each naturally conceived pregnancy miscarrying. We have chosen to go forward with IVF and PGD. My IVF cycle was just cancelled because i wasnt producing enough eggs, only 7. Was told we need 10-15. She said we could go forward with the cycle but we chose not to because we were afraid we would end up with 1 to no embryos. I am 32 years old and we have been TTC for 3 years. I am so frustrated and nervous this next cycle wont produce enough again even though my doc is raising the dosage of my medications.
Kacie,
We had IVF with PGD done in october. This was our first IVF cycle and I am now pregnant from that cycle. We needed PGD becuase of recurrent miscarraiges (3) although they never found anything wrong with the individual chromosome test. We were worried about the whole concept of removing a cell from the embryo but since this was our only shot, we went with the PGD. I had 20 follicles and 11 mature eggs. Out of the 11, 10 fertilised. 7 made it to day 3. And 4 passed the PGD test on day 5 but 2 of them were not great quality and did not make it to freezing. So, in essence we got 2 good embryos out of 20 retrieved eggs.

Suggestion: Even if they only get a few, have them retrieved and frozen before day 3. Then if you do another stim, you can add them all together. When you feel you have enough, have them thawed and tested, and transfer the good ones. This way you'd pay only once for PGD. (PGD generally costs the same regardless of how many embryos you have in the tested batch.)
Avoid IVF and surrogacy in Ukraine. Ukrainian centers pay shills to post here under numerous sock accounts pretending to be patients in Ukraine. Centers using such deceptive advertising cannot be trusted and should be avoided.
