Sara-I can't believe they found another heartbeat yesterday!!!! My RE when looking for the sac said that the other one sometimes pops up later on!!! I'm glad your bleeding scare is over...when is your next apt?

Gi-That is so cute that J walks around with the sono picture!! My DH didn't even want to look at it yesterday since this has been such an emotional roller coaster and I keep going from good news to bad news so he is not going to celebrate until I'm in the clear!!

Merri-YAH for last PIO shot!! Since going on my conference last weekend I have been giving them to myself and actually find it less painful and I luckily don't get the knots in my hips/butt!! Just a few small bruises but man will I be happy when I can finally stop them!!

Stephanie-good luck with the move!!! I also love dictating to all the strong men where to place things!!! Sit back and relax mamma!

Lou-DH and I are also talking about taking a nice vacation this summer as our babymoon!!! I turn 30 at the end of the month and since we probably will do a low-key birthday and this past year have not gone anywhere I want a NICE/LONG vacation in August!!! We are also thinking Italy or Greece!!

AFM...my symptoms have really subsided but I know that I'm still early in the game so I wont get nervous just yet!! I'm counting the days till next Wednesday when I will HOPEFULLY see a heartbeat!!!

xoxo

Claudia -- Your EDD of 11/28/10 is actually my birthday! I was a turkey baby.

Gi -- Bet you can't wait for your 12 week scan! I can't either.

Sara -- Welcome to this side! Congrats on TWINS!!! So excited for you.

AFM -- Umm... so tired lately. Slept 11 hours last night. Geeze! Gonna try to hit the gym after work today. I hope I make it.

Welcome Sarah! Congrats on your twins! Unlike most people, my DH wanted twins. So when he saw there were two he was over the moon. He was telling me from the time of transfer that it was twins so when I heard, I wasn't too surprised either. Though one baby would be easier and less expensive, since I have seen the two beating hearts I fell in love and can't wait to meet both of them! I have had bleeding too. Scared the sh*t out of me. I bawled, DH bawled too... we were both sure it was over... then the ER doc found a heartbeat and the next day the u/s tech found two heartbeats. Later the RE saw them too and a small bleed but is not worried about it at all. Over two weeks later I am still spotting, but they say a subchorionic bleed can take a few weeks to go away. I hope your bleeding has subsided, but if not don't worry! If you need any advice there are a few of us here that have gone through the same thing. :) As far as keeping track with two threads, I am sure you will be fine. :) It will become easier to keep track when they start coming over to this thread because they had a BFP too! The ones that got the BFN I keep track of through PM. It's a little easier than to try to find them in a new cycle thread. Congrats again to you and your DH!

Claudia - Can't wait to hear your good news on Wednesday! We will be counting the days with you! I actually am not big on telling people what to do. lol Only when I owned my own busniess, but that went down with the economy. I can see myself geting frustrated that I can't do much. I am one of those people that has to have my house a certain way. I have had friends over before and when I got up they would move something slighty askew just to see how long it would take me to move it back into place. I am not a neat freak however, more of an order freak. lol Clutter bothers me most, if something doesn't have a place, I get rid of it.

Afternoon everyone! Thought I'd get a quick post in before the Easter weekend starts. I'm so looking forward to spending four days with DH - our current plans are a few rounds of golf, dinner out with friends on Saturday night and probably drinks with the neighbours at some point, so a nice and chilled weekend. The only downside is that the weather is forecast to be disgusting every day of the four day holiday - rain, thunderstorms, the lot - but in the UK we call that a typical Bank holiday weekend! What are everyone else's plans?

Stephanie - fingers crossed that the spotting is on its way out properly now. Just you make sure to do lots of pointing and giving of instructions but no actual work while moving house in the next few weeks! And yay for good numbers from your blood test. I just read your last post and if you're an order freak, then I think you need to come over and stay with me for a few weeks to sort my house out because I'm a definite hoarder! If I can even envisage using something again, or finding a use for something one day, I can't bear to throw it out. I fall in love with the minimalist look you see on home improvement shows, but my house never looks anything like it! Plus with two big dogs charging around playing a lot of the time, it's difficult to be too house proud even if I had those genes in me!

Positive - I'm so happy to hear you saw a strong heartbeat, but ((((hugs)))) for the embie which didn't make it.

Katie - yippee for your progesterone results and for saying goodbye to the PIO shots! Good luck for your first OB appointment tomorrow, it's going to be amazing! Will you get to have an u/s? Don't worry, I'll try not to be too jealous - my own 20 wk (well, strictly, it'll be a 19wk3day) u/s is only just over two weeks away now! In answer to your question, we're off to Dubai for 10 days from Sunday 18th. We've been a few times before, and have some friends who live out there, so it kind of made sense as a destination where (a) the weather is guaranteed to be good, (b) we know the hotels and restaurants and where we want to stay and (c) the medical care is good in an emergency (touch wood it's not needed).

Meganlynn - good luck for your u/s tomorrow!

Ronda - hope your m/s starts behaving itself soon - I don't remember those days with fondness when, like you, I had to eat something every hour even though I felt sick, just to try and make sure I wasn't actually sick too often. It will pass soon, promise! Interesting that you find that anything tight round your stomach makes it worse - I found that as well. I also used to be sick if anything touched my neck, so I had to stop wearing polo necks and things with collars - very weird... Are you having the neck problem too?

lou - Prague via Paris or Rome sounds like a great trip! I know what you mean about how people will be floored when they hear your news - DH and I have been together almost 12 years and I think most people who didn't know different had assumed that if we'd wanted children we would have had them by now. If they only knew! Ooh, you're going to have such fun breaking the news!

claud - So happy to hear that everything looked good at your u/s, roll on next Wednesday!

gi - I know, I was so excited to feel the baby flutter! Funnily enough, I've only felt it twice since Monday night, and then only very briefly. Both times I've been in bed and lying on my stomach, so I've wondered whether the act of compressing my stomach moves the baby closer to the outside of my stomach so I can feel the movements? I'm not feeling anything during the day, or when I'm in bed lying on my side or back, but I know 17wks is still early days generally for being the baby move. This will be you soon... How are you doing? Are you up to much for Easter or are you going to be having the horrid weather too over in Ireland? Were you hit with all that snow this week?

Sara/rayofsunshine - welcome, and congratulations on your two little heartbeats!

Sorry if I've missed anyone who posted since I was last on here. Hope you all have a great weekend. Happy Easter!

hi all - i posted yesterday but the stupid site ate my post. grrr. didn't have it in me to try again.

i still haven't caught up properly... i have been reading some tho... i'm sorry for no personals. thinking of you all and wishing you the very, very best!!

we graduated from RE yesterday - had our 2nd U/S and saw our little gummy bear growing strong. (RE calls 'em gummies at this point because they are similar in size and have little arm & leg buds like gummies do) - now just gotta wait to see if it's a pink or blue one! ;)

OB appt is scheduled for next Wednesday. I think they are going to try to change my due date - the stupid nurse kept asking me on the phone "but when was your LMP?" I said, " i don't know off hand... what I KNOW is the date of CONCEPTION!!" - that might make a little more impact than the stupid LMP!! Oh well, I'll talk to the dr and I'm sure it will be fine... that's just a little annoyance that for some reason irks me.

still feeling REALLY sicky. :( today was icky but i forced myself to take DS outside - down the street to the park in his wagon. i had to stop half way there to rest, but it was a good trip. he enjoyed it thoroughly and got to see other kids, petted their dog and ran like crazy - not to mention played on the playground equipment! seeing his face helped so much! I had to get him out, i was feeling like a super bad mom. :( - but better now... now i can crash since he's in bed.... so that's my cue - on to bed myself.... oh 2nd trimester... please come soon.

Hope - I know exactly what you mean about the nurse. When I first signed up for an OB on post the old lady behind the desk didn't even know what IVF or a trasfer was. I explained it to her and she commented saying it was so unnatural. Yeah, it takes all the romance out of it but that is how a lot of people have to have a baby. UGH Anyway... she refused to accept my transfer date. I told her what my due date was and she simply moved the little wheel to that date and marked down my last LMP. It was the wrong date of course, but whatever. I was done arguing with her. Then I switched OB's and went off post to the place I want to go to. YAY! They looked all confused as well when I tried to tell them my transfer date, but at least this woman was young and simply asked for my due date and left it at that. lol I am surprised not more people in the field know about IVF and other means of having a baby other than intercourse.

Hazel - I will be sure to take it easy. If I could visit and help you organize I would. lol I would love to see the UK. I am a big fan of the history. I was in a forum once discussing Henry VIII with a college student working on her degree in European history and proved her wrong on a few things. After her getting so upset with me, she realized I was right and now we are friends. She thought I was a history professor, but funny enough I never even finished high school. I finally got my GED last year. :D Anyway... organizing, cleaning and moving was what my business was before I couldn't take the economic hit anymore. So I guess you could say I am a pro at it. :) When people have too much stuff, it is hard to get them to let go. I always recommended yard sales or donate to charity or a church. I am always doing one of these things to keep the house in order. We are losing a basement when we move so I am sure I will have to give up a lot more during this move.

Hi everyone -

So I just went for my 1st OB appt. The Dr was nice, but I felt like I had to explain all ivf related things to him - even "what is an RE?" He did a basic pysical, UA, and pap - but no u/s! I was so looking forward to one too! He seems like he's intimidated that my RE still hasnt released me though. Maybe they feel like they're stepping on each other's toes? I dont know. He's sending me for a first trimester screening at a radiologist thats about an hour away ( he said they're never happy with the quality of local scans) So I guess that my days of spending hours in the car to see Dr's arent over yet. I did make him look for a HB with the Dopplar - but he doubted he would hear it this early and he was right. I have to make an appt for this first trimester scan which will include an NT screening so it needs to be done between 11 and 14 weeks. At least THEN I'll get a u/s! My m/s seems to be totally gone - Thank God! but the smeel aversions are worse - WHEW! I hate to feed the dogs lately because their food stinks so bad, I'm trying to put it in the bowls while turning my head away!
I guess I was just spoiled by having the pampered princess routine with my RE - for the first 5 minutes with the new OB I was thinking - jeez I miss my uber intelligent, super quick thinking RE! And I asked point blank about using a treadmill or an elliptical - and he told me no. NO? why? He said unless you've been excercising all this time (which I havent) he said "after it taking this much effort to get you pregnant, why take a chance?" So I dont really like that answer. I mean just because I havent formally worked out this past year and a half of back to back ivf's I'm still in decent condition, I mean we live in the country, so just walking the dogs is like hiking up hills and such. So I'm not sure if I'll listen to him or not. Speaking of the dogs - let me go take them out and I'll do personals after I do that and grab some lunch - xoxo

My fears came true today...I was at the mall with my mom and was having period-like cramps. When I went to the bathroom by underpants were stained red and then I passed a bunch of clots of blood:( I have an SnS apt tomorrow morning but I already feel defeated. For those of you with bleeding, did you pass clots or just blood?

Katie - I know exactly what you mean. I have seen a few docs that were not my RE since I have been pg and they all seem retarded. I guess the RE really deserves his/her big ole paycheck and all those degrees in his office. However, even though the OB doesn't know much about IVF, they know all about keeping a baby, delivering one and making sure mom is getting everything she needs for the baby. I wish I could keep my RE as my OB. lol Good though that you get a tech u/s rather than those blurry ones in the office. You will see soo much more and it will be really clear! BIG difference! Maybe you can post a pic of your growing bean? Happy to hear the m/s is gone! That rocks! I am actually feeling a little less pregnant lately. Most of my symptoms are gone. Still bleeding though... more so the last two days though still considered spotting. No big gushes. OH I played an April Fools joke yesterday. I told everyone I had triplets. lol It was pretty funny. I quickly told them it was a joke, twins is plenty! I did get a request from one of my neighbors to help her play a joke on her DH. She wanted one of my positive HPT to tell her man she is preggers. I allowed her to borrow the POAS and he fell for it. Though she didn't really expect him to be happy. So she had to let him down when telling him she really wasn't. He is ok though, they are going to try in August to have a baby now. lol

Claudia - must have posted at the same time or I would have responded on my last post. I still have bleeding, been doing so for 2 1/2 weeks now. I did pass clots. It could be a subchorionic bleed. That's what I have and the babies looked fine. I saw them twice with beating hearts since the bleeding started. I didn't have cramps, but there is still hope. You can always go to the ER if you don't want to wait. Just take it easy, put yourself on bed rest. Only get up to pee or go to the doctor until you know more at least. I will keep you in my thoughts! I wish you all the best!!

Claudia -- Oh honey, I don't know if I'm the right person to respond to you since this is my first pregnancy and I have not had any bleeding or cramping. But I do understand how scared you must be. Did the bleeding stop yet? I've read in a bunch of baby books that bleeding is fairly common, as alarming as it is, and that very often the baby is fine. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how you are doing.

Katie -- Darn, no u/s from your OB? I hope I get one when I go on the 19th, but I'm not counting on it. I've heard the same thing about working out. That you can do the things you've been doing all along but that it's not the time to start anything new. I'm used to working out 8-10 hours a week so now I'm only doing about 6 hrs. I would think you could do light no-impact cardio machines safely such as an elliptical or a stationary bike. If you aren't used to working out, wear a heart rate monitor and keep your heart rate under 140. I read 3 clinical studies and one said "no adverse impact to fetus if HR is under 140", another said 150, and a third one said 160. I've been keeping mine under 160 for the most part but during tennis it might climb for a few seconds up to 165-170. But I don't hold it there. I really feel great after I work out. Completely rids any fatigue. Start with the stationary bike. It's VERY low impact and you can control your speed and tension. But geeze... I think it would be worse to do nothing at all!I haven't found anything that says moderate exercise is bad!

Stephanie -- Oh lordy, you'd think OB office staff would be more versed in IVF! They oughta be anyway. I'm sure every OB office has had IVF patients before. I can't wait to see what my ob office is going to be like now...lol

Hope -- I hate that dreaded "site ate my post" thing! Sooo frustrating. So you had a 2nd ultrasound already? I'm jealous! I'm released from my RE already and I see OB on 4/19. I hope I get one then! Sorry you're feeling so icky :( .

Hazel -- Sounds like you have a nice holiday weekend planned! Enjoy! And your Dubai trip sounds amazing too. I'm very jealous! Have you been there before?

AFM -- I still feel so fantastic that I absolutely cannot believe there's a baby growing inside there. Really. I wish I had an u/s appt so I could see for myself. It makes me nervous. OK, I'm not starting that again! Ha! I have been going to bed about an hour earlier because that's when I get tired. But that's really it. I went shopping with my grandmother and I bought a couple of maternity items because I had a 30% off coupon that was going to expire soon. I am no where close to wearing them yet. I'm not showing at all :( ( Another reason to think that there's nothing in there). I can't wait to get a tummy! And then I can park in the "Expectant Mothers Only" parking spots...hahaha

Claudia Oh honey, I know how scary spotting can be. What did your RE say? Put your self on strict bed rest and increase your water intake until your appt tomorrow. And Steph is right, she's been through the scary bleeding plenty already - you can go to thr ER if you're really flipping out. How much PIO are you on? Maybe you need your dose increased? And I havent forgotten that you were on a lot of estrogen to build up lining maybe theres a little excess now?
My thoughts and prayers are with you for a happy u/s tomorrow. -xoxo

Steph Whats with these dopey nurses? Mine was clueless also. She said "unnatural?" WTH? was she thinking? Oooh, girl - I'm with you - if there was a way to have my RE as my OB? I'd be in seventh heaven (and wouldnt complain about the 4 hr drive either!) You and me both - I have been feeling normal lately and wish for some symptoms to come back so I could still feel pregnant. Although I have the funny feeling that we wont be saying that for too much longer! When is your EDD?

Lou Thanks for the heart rate info. I cant believe he would say that no excersise is better right now either! You would never expect a Dr to say such a thing. I didnt mean i want to run a marathon - all I said was that I want to start walking on a treadmill. Walking, not running. There are 4 docs in this practice and apparently you have to see all of them so that when you deliver you dont freak out about having a strange Dr, I'm thinking I'll ask the other's opinion's too.
What!!??? You have expectant mother parking??? Now I have always LOVED Chicago - but that seals it even more! BTW - i really liked the link you put for that site to see the fetus. Try this one too ( sorry I dont know how to make a link) visembryo.com if you click on the "pregnancy timeline" below the pic are on the weeks up until 40 weeks and you can see whats going on in there every week  What was the decision on how to tell your family the news?
Ooh, enjoy your vacation! I've heard that Prague is a beatiful and quaint city with really nice friendly people. During the last few days of my 2ww when I was convinced that it didnt work, I had decided that if bfn, I would do a donor cycle in Prague which is known to be a third of the price here. Bet you'll run into lots of American women there - now you'll know why they're there

Hazel Dubai? Wow you really are going on a holiday, arent you? Well you will surely be guaranteed good weather there! How are you feeling Mum? I cant believe that you can still lay on your stomach? Thats been uncomfortable to me for the past few weeks.

Sara OMG! Surprise twins!!! Congrats!

Gi Are you stressed all the time at work? or just when your boss rants and raves? I would hate to see you go back to work and end up wound up every day
Or would you go stir crazy at home? How are you feeling? Hi to your Mam!

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

Sorry I have been MIA for a few days...this m/s has got me down and because I work from home I am able to work, rest, work, rest...thank goodness for this but then I wake up and do it all over again! My DH was out of town so it was just me and our son sot that was interesting, our son is so understanding that mom is on the couch way too much! It is so funny how each day is different and I never know what to expect or what time of day to expect it, strange!

For those of you who went to your 1st OB appointment - did they insist that you have a pap? I go to my OB next Friday but as many of you know each time I have an u/s or anything touches my cervix I spot for days. I have no spotting now so I am going to beg her not to do a pap until my 2nd trimester....my stress level when I have spotting after 2 m/c is crazy!

What does anyone know about this?

Wishing everyone a Happy Easter!!
