How long have you been on Lupron? Maybe they need to increase your dose!
Hi Ladies - I was in the January 2010 cycle & I see some familiar names in this cycle. On my last cycle we only made it up to ER with one egg that did not fertilize - I was not prepared for all the feelings that come with the disappointment and it took me a while to get myself back together. A little background on my situation: 2yrs ago we decided that we wanted to start a family & I got off birth control - several months into it my cramps were so out of control that I would pass out from the pain. After many tests and one surgery I was diagnosed with Stage IV endometriosis - so much scar tissue has build up around my reproductive organs and right kidney that I was told that IVF was our best option at conceiving.
We're just started our 2nd round of IVF this morning: I'm taking 150/Menopur, 150/Follistim in the am & 300/Follistim in the PM. It's a bit strange this time around - I think I've pretty much psyched myself into not getting to excited about the outcome just in case. I'm still optimistic, but I guess I'm just trying to guard myself - However, every now and then I just lose it for no reason - I'm looking forward to going through my cycle with such a supportive group of awesome ladies!
btw - it's taking me a little bit to catch up with everyone, but I will do some personals later.

Ladies, at the hope of not seeming silly can you please help me out here. If I had ER on 3/29 and ET on 3/31. Do I count the day of ER as day 1 so my transfer was day 3? Also, my RE said that my embies looked very good for day of ET but he said they were 4 cell?? I've been reading online and everything that I'm seeing says that 2-4 cells at day 2, so shouldn't it have been better by day 3?? Does this lower my chances??? I'm so confused as I don't get as much info from my RE....maybe I should stay away from the net as well, but that worries me. Was 4 cell good at the time of ER or just ok??

Latrell- you don't count ER as day 1, so you actually did a day 2 transfer. They most likely did ET a day early because you had only two and they wanted to give you the best chance. 4 cell is perfect for day 2.
babyluv: Thank you so must for the clarification. I didn't think that I was counting right. It wasn't making sense. So now, what I read on the internet was understandable. Like I said, I guess I need to stop searching the net and just trust my RE. Well, it's not that I don't trust them, it's more of not understanding some of the things that they do and why. How long have you been on Lupron? Maybe they need to increase your dose!

Well its been 2 weeks now,I am taking .2ml dose..done with 2 week kit,started another one...Have u ladies experienced Mood changes while taking Lupron,coz I have took off from work for a month,I feel like ,I dont wanna talk to others,I am irritated all the time,no carving at all....is this happening just becoz of Lupron???

Had my ER this morning, all went well, but despite having double the number of follies this time, we got the same number of eggs, 5. Here's hoping they all fertilize!!
I've had my Cadbury Eggs, now back to bed for some snuggle time w/ puppies and to catch up on DVR'd shows.

paty welcome!!! i remember you for the jan/feb boards! i also have stage 4 endo, and was told that without ivf i had a 1% chance of getting pregnant. i'm so sorry about your last ivf attempt, but i'm so glad you took some time to heal, and that you are jumping back in!! are you on an antagonist protocol? i found that it is the best protocol for me (even though its still not great) but the 2 times ive been on it, ive made it farther then i did the other 2 times.
i have my ER tomorrow, and i dont have many follies at all so i am scared i wont have any eggs. so i totally understand how you are feeling. i am here for you if you need to talk!

Paty- I am so glad that you decided to join the March/April forum. I am sorry to hear about your cycle in January. You have come to the right place for support because we will be here for you! You aren’t the only one who loses it everyone now and again … I find myself so very upset for the small things and then I truly loose it for the big stuff. Please let us know how the stimming process is going for you.
Congrats Winnie on the ER today. Take it easy (hope someone brought you Easter dinner in bed!) I stocked up on movies too but this round was quite sleepy from the anesthesia.

Latrell – Yes, you had a two day transfer instead of a three day. No, it doesn’t lower your chances because some embryos just can’t withstand the conditions of the lab and just don’t make it to 3 or 5 days. There are plenty of women who become pregnant with 2, 3, or 5 day transfers. So you are PUPO!
Kajol – Yes, the mood swings were very, very noticeable. I just became so irritated w/ everyone so I just tried to limit my contact w/ others until I became used to the Lupron … lol! And, the migraines where awful also … I didn’t get them every night but when I did, there were just terrible!
Winnie – 5 embryos after ER! That is great!!! Lay back and relax!
Franny – Good luck tomorrow! I know you will be fine and they will find some follicles w/ eggs in them. Please let us know after your ER and you are fully rested!

AFM – I enjoyed my Sunday for a change! We went to church this morning and then I spent the afternoon w/ my family. Of course, I had to leave early because I had to come home to take my medications and my shots. Boy, IVF really changes your life … I found myself saying “no I can’t have a cocktail, no I can’t eat that because it has blue cheese; no I can’t drink that pop/soda because of the caffeine; no I can’t eat that because it is lunch meat; and no I can’t eat that because it’s not pasteurized, etc! Oh well, I hope I am rewarded in the end!!!! Come on Tuesday ET!!! Please hurry!!
