Not good news for me. We went in for the ET having heard from the Embryologist this am that I had a Grade III 4 cell plus a 2 and 1 cell fertilized. We talked to the Dr 1st and he agreed the chances were very slim, saying the 2 cell has already stopped growing, and the 4 cell had 'atypical' growth-meaning it jumped from 1 cell to 4 cell without being observed at a 2 cell stage. We decided to wait and see if it keeps developing in the lab, and if so, go for a 5 or 6dt. It does not look good. I know some will say it would do better in me, but I really believe if it is not viable tomorrow, it wouldn't have been in me either. More waiting...
I am assuming insurance wise, even if we don't make it to transfer, this counts as our second (and final) covered IVF.

Sorry to be such a downer, I am so happy for everyone else who got their BFPs, and I love hearing about all the u/s's.
Me 38 missing 1 Fallopian Tube, severe endometriosis
DH is 39, perfect, actually DF (Dear Fiance-wedding in May)
1st IVF 3/10 BFN, 3dt 1 good 8 cell, no frosties
2nd IVF 4/10 Cx'd, no embies to transfer

yes for sure I don't understand the wait but maybe it won't count as a complete IVF for your insurance which in this case would be better. But the battle is NOT over yet and so we will wait tomorrow for your report and keep praying in the mean time. Hugs.

Lauren – Good luck on Friday and for the transfer on Monday.

Babyluv – I love the story about your DS … and your brother is just the sweetest person ever. Flowers, what a great gesture!!!!

Claudia – I love your story also about your niece. I know kids are so much smarter than most people give them credit!! They saw the heart beat … yeah!!!

Waiting4GodsMiracle – welcome to our little family. How many to transfer is really up to you. I will be 35 in September and I just recently transferred 1 embryo because my RE thinks it is too dangerous to carry twins or more for me because of my previous loss. Remember this when you decide how many to transfer, be prepared to have the same amount of kids in reference to how many you transfer. So if you transfer 3 embryos, be prepared to get pregnant w/ triplets. At my clinic, under the age of 35 they recommend 2 embryos, 35 through 39 –three embryos, and so on … Only you and your RE decide how many to transfer and he/she will talk to you about the risk of multiples. And, if you are pregnant w/ multiples, you will be high risk. But, we will definitely be here for you regardless of your decision.

Tameka94 – Welcome back … it is great that you are stimming! Your DH is so very right, IVF is so much more emotional than I ever expected also. But, it is also exciting at the same time!

Helene – Thanks for asking … I actually feel a lot better than I did yesterday. The cramping following the ET concerned me a little but the Ibuprofen and Xanax really helped calm my uterus. So it is in god’s hands now! I have to say that I am relieved that you are pregnant w/ a singleton because I was scared for you medically if you were pregnant w/ twins because of your recent delivery. I wasn’t sure if your uterus could tolerate two babies in there. I think some of the concern from your docs is just for your overall health. And, I have gotten to know you and I just want the best for you and your baby. Remember, not to push your body too hard as they say it can be very hard on the mother’s body to get pregnant before a year has passed from the last delivery. So I think you will be fine w/ this pregnancy but I am referring to future pregnancies. This is just your friend being concerned for you! I am talking more from experience … I didn’t share this before but after I lost my daughter Ashley at 21 weeks, I tried to get pregnant right away (1 month or even 2 months afterwards) against all the advice from friends, family, and several of my close physicians who are my friends (my OB said even though Ashley wasn’t term, it was just like I gave birth to a term baby and my body needed time to recover). I think my body just wasn’t ready for another pregnancy yet and it didn’t work. My manager went through the same thing … she lost her son at 20 weeks (and she had to deliver him as I did) and she tried getting pregnant right away and her body just wasn’t ready. I think it took exactly 1 year for her to get pregnant again but I know everyone is different. Please just consider all that I have said for your future decisions and please take care of yourself.

I am also happy that you feel comfortable on this site also because the ladies aren’t judging you (I am glad that neg. lady is gone from this site)! You know how we feel as we have previously told you because I think only you have the control over your own body and I know you will make the right decision for you and DH. Here are a lot of hugs!!!

Franca – 6 eggs, that’s great!

Bei – thanks for updating the chart. I keep getting confused on who is where at what time.

Chris – I am glad to hear from you and that your transfer went well. My transfer went well also.

Emmax - Just relax ... your ovaries are probably still swollen so you will probably feel a few twinges here and there!

AFM- this is day 1 of taking it easy and I have to say I’m not doing a very good job of it because I keep answering my cell phone when my doctors’ offices keep calling. And, my father isn’t feeling well, so I am calling in favors to some of doctor friends so he can get in early to be evaluated. Oh course, next my DH calls and says how are you doing and I told him and there was silence … then he said you have to think of the baby now stop answering the phone!!!! Well, I haven’t heard from my RE’s office yet to see how many embryos made it to the freezer but I do know my beta is scheduled for 4/16th. I can’t wait!!!

Winnie - I am so very sorry for you. I want you to read something that I read from another fertility clinic:

"The ultimate goal of in vitro fertilization (IVF) and embryo culture is to provide high quality embryos which are capable of continued normal development and result in live births. However, under standard IVF culture conditions, only about 25-60% of human embryos will progress to the blastocyst stage after 5 days of culture. This low rate of embryo development is the result of a less than optimal culture environment for the embryos. For this reason, embryos have traditionally been transferred into the uterus after only 2 or 3 days of culture".

This is the web site: http://www.advancedfertility.com/blastocy.htm

I know you stated the same thing but I just want you to be fully informed for your decision! I am wishing you luck and giving you hugs! Please keep us updated!

P.S. I also think this is a great question to ask ghost!!

hi everyone
i will do personals in a little while, but i just wanted to let you all know that this morning i had 1 perfect 4 cell 2 day embryo transferred!! it went very smoothly, and i got a picture of my lil guy, and got to watch the transfer back on the U/S machine in slow-mo! it was crazy because the RE who did my transfer said it was the best looking embie he has seen in a long time...then the ultrasound tech said it was perfect...then while i was waiting afterwards the embryologist knocked on the door and said that my own RE just called to check up on me and said that my embie was perfect! then even the embryologist even said it couldnt look any better!! hahaha i was beaming like a proud mama.
i also found out i had a perfect 10 uterine lining with a triple stripe!! :D
i told DH that we sure make good embryo's when they finally meet! we were laughing that is lil swimmers saw my egg and flipped out and said things like " we've heard about this mystical thing called an egg!! we didnt think it was real!!" hahaha after 10 years of searching for my egg they finally found it!
anyway sorry if thats weird haha but it made me laugh.
i promise i will do personals later, but i just got home from acupuncture and i'm starving and want to put my feet up!
oh BTW i'm gonna eat my eggplant tonight for dinner and i cant wait!!

Oh god Angela I am so sorry for your little one... How sad and hurful. Thanks for the kind words it really means a lot to me.

Here is what things happend to me the way it did I mean I really had it all planned but I guess we can't plan everything ;)

First off I was going to go later in the year but then I though my with 12 embies, 3 frozen together that means 4 pregnancies if they all work... so I though I am 45 now I can't be 50 when I do this... so since my cycles are 3 months long I though ok I will try the first ones now which will probably NOT work and so I would have put back the only want good one and one bad one and it would have failled... next 3 months later I would have tried for a second FET so that means June so 6 months after delivery and so it takes the embies 3 months to really affect your uterus much so that means 9 months... sounded great.

But IVF OB decided to thaw a lot I guess NOT knowing I had a c-section in December but I knew so if he would have asked I would have said NO don't thaw any more it's ok I will be back it's not costing me anything these are fresh cycles and I already paid for 3 transferes up front anyways... Not a rush...

So I though ok in june it's going to work so the following here close to 47 do the second third transfer and finally last at 49... See if I would have had a good success i was going to help childless couples and carry the babies for those who can't carry like my friend... but since it looks like out of 12 I will be having maybe 2 children then those will be my 2 I wanted to start with... I really though more would work... I am happy I don't have multiples it would NOT have been good and that was NOT MY doing... So God took care of it for us :)

My sister is a nurse and she says it's going to be fine... I am sure it will be... specially with a good HR OB it's going to be fine.

Sorry girls for the long post... thanks again Angela... btw I hope all your embies make it to freeze... you deserve the best like all of us here :)

Hugs.
