Franny – that is great news! One perfect embryo; well sit back and relax now and the 2ww starts now for the both of us. BTW-I love the humor between you and DH. Actually, you guys sound like my DH and I … laughter is good for the soul!

Helene – I am so glad that you have a plan! So you will be w/ a high risk OB also (that’s great news)! I agree with you and your sister, I think you and your little baby will be fine. I also demanded to see a HR OB if (oops) I mean when I get pregnant w/ this cycle. I forgot to ask, where your older children c-sections also or where they vaginal deliveries? I’m just curious.

Kajol – there are other suppression medications that your RE can try like Cetrotide if the Lupron isn’t doing the trick. I might have asked this question before but has he increased the dose yet? Also, make sure you don’t see any cloudiness in the Lupron vial; and I know this might sound strange but check the expiration date to make sure they didn’t send you an expired med. I hope your BW improves on Saturday so that you can start stims soon.

That's the spirith Angela... I like that you said WHEN you get pregnant with this cycle :) Yes all my children were vaginal deliveries and I have them normally within a couple of hours max 4... but this last one I think because of the malformation T21 it was different... I was in labor (mild) for 2 days and told my OB to induce me or just give me the appidural and let me stay at the hospital but he kept sending me home so finally my baby's heart rate dropped at 60 so we had to do an emerg. c-section... I always hated him and I hate him even more now.

Oh also before I did the Transfer I checked online for c-section and future pg and found several posts where a woman had one baby via c-section and then got pg with twins and had them the same year... and one other had 4 children in 4 years all via c-sections so it means 3 months rest just like me... so I am ok with it I am sure.

Wow Helene, that same thing happened to my sister. Her water broke while I was standing there so I took her to the hospital and they told her that it wasn’t amniotic fluid because it was urine. I told them I think I know the difference between urine and amniotic fluid (they taught me a few things in RN school … lol) but of course they ignored me and sent her home without checking to see how dilated she was. So the next day I insisted that she go back to the OB and they finally checked her and she was walking around 4 cm dilated (an infection could have developed). In fact, it was the same idiot that ignored me when I told him about my symptoms before I lost Ashley. Sometimes docs can be complete idiots. So back to my story, once she was admitted, the same OB kept putting off the delivery and my nephew got into trouble when his HR kept dropping during the contractions, so finally they woke up and realized they had to do an emergency C-section. My nephew was developmentally delayed for the first two years of his life because of the lack of oxygen. After a lot of therapy and hard work, he is now a growing 9 year old without any complications! Thank god! So I understand your anger w/ your OB!

I’m glad you did research before this IVF; but like I said, I think you will be fine w/ you HR OB, just pay close attention to your symptoms and report everything.

OMG - I would have sued him... how can they put a little one in danger like that... I am so sorry for your sister and glad your nephew is ok now... how aweful to go through this and not HAVE to if only people listen... I think I am going to try really hard to find another OB cause I just can't stand him anymore... I just don't want to upset my dh... he is HIS OB... and all the kids too... so loads of work for him but I bet he would love me to go away :)

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you know that I had my ET today. I'm doing a FET and I had 5 embies in the freezer. I was so worried that they'd tell me that none had made the thaw, but I'm happy to say that they thawed 2 embies and they both made it. It is the equivalent of day 2, and one embie is 7 cell (between grade A and B) and other one is 3 cell - one of the cells was massive because it was about to divide. RE said this one is between grade B and C. I think they both had quite a bit of fragmentation. I'm trying to stay positive about this - RE said he's seen pregnancies from embryos of this quality so all is not lost. For my first IVF I had a perfect embie and I got a BFN, so I guess it's just not a science! Find PMA, find PMA....!

I had my first session of accupuncture yesterday, and another one this morning before the ET, and a third one afterwards. The accupuncturist works alot with IVFers and I felt really safe in his hands. Felt great too. V relaxing in a v deep way.

So I guess I'm now 0dp2dt. Can I POAS yet? (just kidding!). I guess here begins the dreaded 2ww. I have a good book and am totally hooked on True Blood (do you have it in US?). I have the DVD box set so intend to finish that off quick smart.

Sorry for not doing personals. There is so much going on it's melted my brain. But to my fellow 2wwaiters - Angela, Winnie, Franny and the others.... Good luck and keep sane.

Love to all

Hi ladies just dropping a quick note to let you know that the nurse just called a little while ago with my beta results. It came back at 23.9. She said that is lower then they like to see but still a positive and might have to do with when they implanted. I had some spotting on Sat and Sun so maybe they just hadn't had time to produce much HCG. I forgot to mention it to the nurse because I was so happy that she said I was actually pregnant. I just got done going to the bathroom and I have some light spotting again. Is this normal after a positive beta? Should I call my RE or just wait to see if it stops?

Kushka – I am so happy your transfer went well today. Welcome to the dreaded 2ww. This is only day one for me and it is killing me … lol. Now once my DH gets home, I am sure I will drive him nuts … lol. He tries his best but he’s not the nurturing type. Actually, I get a kick out of him. I am normally the one taking care of everyone and now it’s my turn for awhile. Please keep us updated w/ your progress.

Teresa - how many weeks are you since your LMP? I have posted the normal ranges for betas and as you probably already know, they can vary from person to person. If you are where I think you are, I think it is still in normal range.

3 weeks LMP: 5 - 50 mIU/ml
4 weeks LMP: 5 - 426 mIU/ml
5 weeks LMP: 18 - 7,340 mIU/ml
6 weeks LMP: 1,080 - 56,500 mIU/ml
7 - 8 weeks LMP: 7, 650 - 229,000 mIU/ml
9 - 12 weeks LMP: 25,700 - 288,000 mIU/ml
13 - 16 weeks LMP: 13,300 - 254,000 mIU/ml
17 - 24 weeks LMP: 4,060 - 165,400 mIU/ml
25 - 40 weeks LMP: 3,640 - 117,000 mIU/ml
Non-pregnant females: <5.0 mIU/ml

Please also look at this info:

"Caution must be used in making too much of hCG numbers. A normal pregnancy may have low hCG levels and result in a perfectly healthy baby. The results from an ultrasound after 5 - 6 weeks gestation are much more accurate than using hCG numbers". And, "A single hCG reading is not enough information for most diagnoses. When there is a question regarding the health of the pregnancy, multiple testings of hCG done a couple of days apart give a more accurate assessment of the situation". This info is from: http://www.americanpregnancy.org/during ... evels.html

I suppose they are going to repeat your beta in two days to make sure it is doubling, right? If your office is still open now, then yeah call them and tell them about the spotting. Also, I think if the spotting gets worse tonight, I would report it immediately. If it changes in color like from brown to bright red report that also. I also think you should take it easy and put your feet up as much as possible. But, if no BIG changes today, you can call them first thing in the morning but definitely tell them. I had some spotting after my BFP but it was for different reasons. Please let us know how you are doing.

Oh thank you Angela for getting back to me. I am approximately 4 weeks today. I didn't mark my calendar with my LMP so I will have to check with my RE for sure but I think it was around the 10th. So my numbers do fall in the normal category. I guess I just feel a little freaked out. I left a message for Ghost and he said that spotting was common in successful IVF pregnancies but the low Hcg level was more worrysome. He asked what day my transfer was but I havent heard back yet on his reply. I guess I just need to calm down and trust that everything will be aokay. Its in God's hands now! Thank you for the chart and the link that makes me feel better.

Well I called my RE office just to let them know and actually got to talk to the nurse instead of having to leave a message. She said that it was still very early...it could be my period trying to start it or it could be nothing. She said there wouldn't be anything they could do to intervine so to try to relax. She did say that the spotting was very, very common so we would just have to wait till Friday to see what my numbers looked like. Sorry to be all freaked out ladies but this is my first cycle and my first BFP so now I'm over analizing everything. Thanks as always for your support and well wishes
