Jaye,

Sorry to hear about everything that has been going on. It's nervewracking enough having to deal with a 2 ww... you must be going on 3w now with no clear answer. I will definitely be thinking of you on Tues.

Caz,

Took your advice and called the clinic yesterday to find out how the fertilization was going. The nurse said they really weren't supposed to tell people prior to the transfer day (no idea why) but that she had checked with the lab and at least half had fertilized so far. She didn't have exact details. At first, I thought half sounded ok but then I started reading that, when ICSI is used, the fertilization rate is normally 70-85%. I'm wondering if her saying "so far" meant that more might still fertilize? But wouldn't they have already done so by Friday if they were going to (EC was Thurs)? I know we only need one good one since that's all we're planning to put back anyway but really want a good number to freeze since this is a one time try for us with the IVF. If we had some that were frozen, at least I would feel like there was still some hope if I got a -tive.

Traci,

How did things go w/your donor's eggs? Have you had the EC yet? I keep thinking you said it was going to be Fri (yesterday) but I might be confused.

To those of you who are doing projesterone pessaries, lucky you! The IM shots are frightening. Last night I think my husband hit a nerve and I could feel a strange sensation running through my whole leg for a half hour. I could barely walk. Not a pleasant sensation.

Traci,

You must have been posting at the same time as me. Now, I see that Tracey S. wrote a separate post regarding your eggs. I really have to start looking at the General Board occasionally!

I think the chances of your 2 embies not surviving is highly unlikely so try to to worry (like I am one to be giving that advice!). Looks like there are going to be quite a few of us on the 2 ww together. Hopefully, we can all keep each other relatively sane!

Sorry Traci. I seem having the same problem as Caz was with typing things wrong today. I obviously meant to type "try NOT to worry"; not "try to worry"!

Staci - half of them fertiliasing so far is fab - means you will most likely get 8 embies - fantasic number!

Traci - I agree I think the bit between ec and et is AWFUL - you just feel like if you can t get in the 2WW its all be a total waste of time - but you have 2 and they have fertilised - so I think you can relax!! HAve a glass of wine might be the last one you get for a while!!

Im sure they will be fine too but I wish I could be put to sleep untill Monday . I keep thinking of my donor , wandering how many fertilised for her too , did she only get 2 mature eggs or did she get more , Guess I will never know , I would love to thank her for giving me the chance , I wander if they will give her a card frm me ??? if I left it undone so they could see if it was ok to give , I will make her one anyway .

Hi Girls

Hope you are all doing OK?

Traci - Just wanted to say how please I am to hear your good news!!!!

I know the waiting is excruciating, but keep yourself busy as possible til Monday.....cook some stuff for the freezer to save you doing anything after ET........maybe its just me being a sad git, but I find the only time I am not thinking about anything is when I am cooking.........!!

Fingers and toes are crossed for Monday!

Love

JenF,

Just wanted to say I am the exact same as far as cooking goes. I actually make my own sushi (just using vegatables and cooked foods of course; no raw fish) and that is one of the few times that my mind just goes on auto pilot and I stop worrying about things for a bit.

So, you are not a sad git....or I guess maybe we both are!

Speaking of sushi, I am dying because I do love the raw fish variety and used to eat it several times a week but have had to give it up now since they say it's not safe during pregnancy :(

Hi there

Traci - Fab news regarding your embies. How exciting :D I am really keeping everything crossed for you and a big candle lit and touching wood and............praying so hard, you REALLY deserve this to be the one!!

Jaye -I am so sorry you have had so much pain and worry. Try to take it easy. I might well be a June buddy with you hoping all goes well with my May AF.

Caz - On my first treatment the hospital didn't have the right strength pessaries and I had to insert 6 twice a day for 4 days, three in the front and three in the back  Not very pleasant I can tell you!!!

Staci - I had to have IM progesterone at one point and boy was it a pain in more ways than one. It is so gloopy and hard to push the syringe down isn't it? The needles are so big as well - nightmare  Keep going, it will be worth it in the end.

Sprinkling baby dust over everyone and wishing you all tons of good luck.

Love Dagny xkx

Hello everyone

Congratulations traci. What never ceases to amaze me is how you remember everyone, what they are doing etc, when you are going thru so much. good luck with your ET. Everything sounds very hopeful.
I haven't been doing any knicker checking but my boobs don't hurt anymore and I am being so moody, which is why I am convinced things haven't worked.

Staci, like you I was in so much pain after EC and couldn't walk for two days. I thought I was just a wimp

Good luck Caz, 7 days to go eh? I am on day 6 and going slowly mental!

And good luck to everyone

Hi everyone,
Thanks everyone so much for your kind thoughts :) You have kept me sane! Tania - keep hanging in there. You've done so well to get this far. Traci - I'm sure your donor would appreciate a card - it's a lovely thought, and I'm sure your clinic would pass it on for you. it's so great that you've got this far, you poor thing. I agree with you and Caz - the bit between EC and ET is the worst - even worse than 2ww, I reckon, coz at least then you know you've got that far - it's not sure until ET. My heart goes out to everyone there right now. Staci - I think the eggs that are going to fertilise do it in the first 24 hours, I don't think they do much after that. Your clinic sounds really unreasonable - mine called every day at 11.00 to tell me how mine were getting on - that meant alot to me. actually, now that i think about it, that's made me really mad :x why shouldn't you know how your embies are doing, for pete's sake? I just think how worried i was and how great my clinic were about it, and having a policy of not telling you how they're going just seems cruel. you had a good number of eggs to start with, though, so 8 or so embies is a great outcome! Dagny - will see you in June! It will be nice to have some familar 'faces', and hopefully it's just you and me (and July Ann) and a bunch of newbies coz everyone else will be on the other side! (wow, after a month I feel like an old hand at this!)

HI all
Jaye - sounds like you have resigned yourself to it not working -I will rad the other threads to check I havent missed anything. I really hope you are doing OK?
Traci - how are you feeling - getting ready for the et I hope - sounds like you'll have 2 to put back!! Tell me , I'm a bit confused, do you have these PLUS the donor egg embies - sorry to be thick!
Staci - how you doing? I agree with Jaye - it does seem a bit odd that they wont tell you anything. Its kind of nice to know before you going into the clinic for et , where you stand.....BE FIRM!!
Jen - try to keep +ve - its grim isnt it. I am MAJOR knicker checking patrol now - even my DH keeps asking.....ahhhh SO romantic!!
Sharon - your v quiet - whats up - hope all well.
Tania- you are about 1/2 way trhough 2ww now right - well, good luck. All my fingers a re crossed for all of us.
dagny - you are so sweet to keep in touch wioth all of yus - we'll all be there for you over the next couple of months!! Are you still disgustingly brown?!

I am fine - getting quite obsessed with it all now. and have had slight tummy and back ache the whole way through the 2WW which is making me quite anxious. Its nothing I need to take painkillers for - but it sort of always makes me feel like AF is about to arrive. I guess the tummy ache feels a bit like you need to go to the loo....sorry for details! Has anyone else had these symtoms. Boobs are quite big (and I'ma D cup at the best of times!!), but not too sore. Nipples are totally normal. All not good signs. :-( , the boob thing seems to be the only tell tale sign.

Take care all
