Thanks for asking for me, thankfully (touch wood) i havent had a speck of spotting since that 1st episode i keep telling myself it was a tiny about very pale brown and could be just an irritation. I still havent told j but if it happens again (please god spotting stay away) i will. I have relaxed a lot since then and feel more confident but obvioulsy i will always have doubts about reaching a healthy 10 wk scan as we have never made it that far. I do say to j i dont mind worrying or having doubts (yeah i know sounds strange!) but after so many knock backs over the last 8 yrs ttc its hard to believe it will work out ok but i know if i see a healthy little baby and make it to 12 wks i know it will be worth every single worry and tear shed.
As for you poor girls that are actually bleeding my heart goes out to you, i know all is safe with your babies but you always get a terrible feeling when you see the blood.
Hope glad to hear the ms has really improved welcome back to the land of living!!
Steph gawd you dont make labour sound nice ha ha hopefully i will get to add my experience in 32 wks time!!
Babyluv welcome aboard, congrats on the twins!! Hope you have a safe and smooth pregnancy.
Katie oh i thought your scan was yesterday now i have to wait till next wk!!! How are them twinges?
Positive thinking dont worry my bbs havent changed either and i doubt very much they will i am not that big in that area!
Lou calender says i am having a boy!! Dont mind either way as long as i get 1 of them
Sorry if i have missed anyone thanks again for all your best wishes hopefully it has worked.

So I did both of those Chinese gender charts and both of them said its a boy! I love little games like that. We'll see in a while if they really work, but the'yre still fun even if they dont. Notice how I think its fun because it gave me the right answer - see if it had said girl, I would have said -"oh those things dont work" hee hee. So my OB himself called me yesterday and I got nervous. I guess thats due to too many cancelled cycles when if you answer the phone and hear your RE's voice my heart would drop because I automatically knew it was bad news.. Whew! Luckily there was no bad news he just called to say that he didnt get enough cells to do my pap, so at my next appt we have to redo it. And he said that my RE mailed him a letter in addition to the fax that was sent - i asked him if my RE had anything interesting to say about me - but of course the OB wouldnt give up any info - Well then why bother to tell me that he wrote you another letter than? I had a little nausea and fatigue again yesterday, but today I'm back to normal. I'm feeling pretty lucky to not have had m/s that lasted forever. But I am noticing that EVERYTHING gives me heartburn - what fun that is! Even though heartburn is annoying - its a fat chance that i'll give up my spicy foods
Lou thanks for posting those charts. I love things like that - and besides I listened to you about eating Chinese food on the night of ET - and that worked! So you just never know...
Riley Ahhh, thats how you found out so early - you had insider info - lucky girl!
Claudia I'm so relieved that "flick" is doing well - how much PIO are you on?
Babyluv Welcome! Congrats on surprise twins! Your DS sounds adorable too. So, then you will have 4 children all under the age of 5 soon? Oh my! I think you had better take every single opportunity you get to nap - because it sounds like you are gonna be one tired lady! When is your EDD so I can add it to our list?
Positive Dont worry, the right name will come to you. I just hope that it wont take too much negotiating to get the one you want! I see that happening in my house too.
Karen Yes, its tough to come up with 2 of each genders names that you love. I hope you're bleeding stops - who needs that added stress? But you've got a really great OB so know that you are in good hands!
Gi I was starting to get worried about you. I'm glad that all is well with you. I totally get how you wont completely relax until you are further along. I mean who wouldnt feel like that after all you've been through? But like I said on the cycling threads - this IS your time, girl! When will you get your b/w results back? How is your Mam doing? xoxo
Hazel I'm going to put the list in order of pg stages right now. How are you feeling? Are you still playing golf? Can you wait for next Friday either?
hugs & prayers to us all - xoxo

thanks for all your thoughts on the whole planned c-section vs. natural delivery issue.
after thoughts and discussion with dh - we have decided that we will split the difference, so to speak.
our edd is 11/7 - which is a sunday. we had the option to plan a c-section as early as 1 wk before (except that it must be on a weekday) so 11/1 would be the earliest possible planned date. since they will not induce me if i don't go into labor naturally on the day of (or after, in my case - since it will be the following monday for planned) my due date - we decided to plan to have the c-section on thursday or friday 11/4 or 11/5. this way, we are giving the baby a few more days to come on his/her own, but still taking advantage of the "planned" part if he/she doesn't. this way, our older boys (my dss's) will be able to be here for (or soon after) the birth and for his/her first weekend. plus my family (who all live out of town) can plan to be here as well. and of course if he/she comes on his/her own - then so be it... we'll deal with that when/if it happens.
last time, i FELT that i was going to have to have a c-section the whole pregnancy. i figured i would have to be induced, and then go thru many hours of labor, only to find that i would need a c-section... well, it happened, except the inducing and hours of labor part... since ds was having some distress and he was on my nerve, they recommended c-section right away... and he was in distress - boy had been spinning like a top in there.. cord around his neck 5x.
this time, i feel like it will be a c- again.. not to say i won't go into labor, but i just don't feel like i will... and since they won't induce me.. why wait 3-4 more days just to have the c- anyway... when we can make it more convenient for family....
anyway... that's my story.
hope to do personals later...

Katie -My EDD is November 28. So glad your OB didn't have bad news! I know that feeling...when the DR calls, yikes. Glad it was nothing.
Claudia and Gi - I am so sorry about the bleeding/spotting! I am just getting over spotting and it totally freaked me out. Praying it all goes away so you all can relax a little!
Hope glad you have a plan in action i would have went with the planned c section too if i was you.
Steph hope you are feeling better, these hormones are tough going and with twins!! You will feel much better after your next scan.
Katie thanks for asking about me mam she is grand though i reckon i am giving her lots of grey hairs from stress she says she is "living on her nerves" bless her, i was always as my sis used to say the "goody goody" growing up and never caused trouble thats cause my other 2 sisters did enough of that (not in a bad way just typical teenagers and one of my sis would be special needs) so now i am making up for it!! I havent got my results back yet but i will ring tomorrow as if the levels are high i need a drip around 9 wks which is tomorrow.
Hope everyone is doing well and had a nice weekend. Today was the nicest and warmest day in Ire. so far i even had to put on a summer dress and root out my factor 50 as it was very warm in the garden, had a really relaxing day reading and lazing about. Thankfully (please God) still no sign of the dreaded spotting.
Chat later gi xxx

malya - how cool that your EDD is 10/10/10! It only occured to me in the last few weeks that there are a couple of pretty memorable dates this year - my EDD is 7th September but I wouldn't mind the baby putting in an appearance on 8/9/10! (we write our dates the other way round in the UK, and the middle number is the month not the day, so 8th September this year would be 8/9/10). Sorry to hear that your OB didn't listen for the heartbeat - I have an unhelpful midwife who didn't offer at 12 weeks either, but I asked her specifically to listen for it at my 16 week appointment because I was having a lot of abdominal pain, and she was able to find it easily enough by that stage with the Dopplar. So I would definitely make sure to tell him that you want to hear your heartbeat at your next appointment at 15 weeks!
positive - good luck for your u/s today!
Steph - yep, we did indeed stay at the Burj! You're right, it's normally horrendously expensive, but we were really lucky and managed to get a good deal off our travel agents to tack on a couple of nights there at the end of our honeymoon, so it was still pricey but not 'taking-out-a-second-mortgage' pricey! We had a bit of a reckless "oh what the hell, it is our honeymoon after all" moment before handing over our credit card, but it was such an experience to stay there that we don't regret it. How are you feeling now - brighter than at the weekend? Has the spotting stopped yet?
Riley - sooooo jealous of you having a friendly sono tech to call upon whenever you feel you need an u/s for peace of mind!
Hope - yippee for the m/s starting to take a breather for you, it was such a relief when that happened to me. Hope everything to continues to improve steadily, and you're totally back to normal soon. Haha, thanks for the naming story - although we're going to wait to talk about names, you've made me realise that we will need to make a firm decision before I'm loopy on drugs during the delivery!!
Katie - yay for hitting the 12 week mark, you're now officially heading into the second trimester!! Only 4 more sleeps until we get our u/s this Friday! Are you starting to get really excited? I am, but I'm also getting nervous (which has happened to me in the few days before both my other u/s dates). I know we'll both be fine though, and then we can hurry up and wait for the next appointment/scan/milestone! Yep, I'm still playing golf - we played 18 holes both days at the weekend because the weather was so nice in the UK, which was good fun but really tiring. We were watching the Masters coverage as well over the weekend, which because of the time difference lasted until midnight UK time - both Saturday and Sunday nights I lasted until about 10.30pm, fell asleep on the sofa and woke up when it was all over! I'm such a lightweight these days...
claud - keeping everything crossed for you that the bleeding has stopped and you're feeling OK. Not long to go until your u/s on Wednesday and then you'll see Flick again and it will put your mind at ease.
karen - nice to hear from you again, so sorry to hear that your bleeding still hasn't stopped. I suppose at least you know that the little beans are doing well and it's nothing that affects them.
lou - hope you're still feeling energetic and had a good weekend! The Gender Prediction Chart has me slightly confused - I was 34 when the eggs were collected this last cycle, but Zorba the embryo was transferred back to me five days later on my 35th birthday. I suppose strictly speaking the point of conception took place in a petri dish, even though I always think of it as being when Zorba actually implanted inside me. So if I put that I was 34 at the date of conception, the Prediction Chart says I'm having a girl, and if I put that I was 35, then I'm having a boy!!
gi - thank goodness the spotting didn't come back. Not long to go until your 10wk u/s now, and good luck for your test results this week!
Another quick poll for you ladies - are any of you tempted to buy a little home Dopplar so that you can listen to the heartbeat on your own? I just checked out the prices on Amazon and you can get them in the UK for about £25, which sounds not all that much money in the grand scheme of things for the peace of mind it might provide. I don't think they are reliable until beyond 12/14 weeks when the baby is a little bigger, although there seem to be various customer reviews which suggest that people have found the heartbeat at home at about 9/10 weeks (not sure whether I totally believe them, or whether they might have been listening to their own heartbeat by mistake!). Anyway, would be interested to hear your views...

Claud -- hmmm.... I think you did the Chinese Gender chart right. We shall see!
Hazel -- Yes, I'm still feeling really really good. I do go to bed a little earlier than before, but I do feel great. You're Gender Prediction is a toughy. I am thinking that because your ET was right on your b-day, that for some reason is special. So I don't know if you should use the age you were at fert or the age at ET either...lol. Too bad you don't have twins, then we'd know it was one of each! I'm going to bet that you're either having a girl or a boy . LOL
AFM -- How's everyone doing? I'm doing very well. Still in "pregnancy denial". DH thinks I'm looney. I have my last acupuncture appt on Friday. I scheduled it ahead because I thought it would help me when the M/S hit.... only it never hit! I know it could still happen though. My appetite is good. This morning at a work meeting we had breakfast and I filled my plate with a scoop of scrambled eggs, 1 slice bacon, little bit of hash browns, a half slice of french toast, and some fresh fruit salad.... and one of the nurses looked at me and said "geeze, how do you stay so skinny if you eat like that." She doesn't know I'm preggo, haha. And I just said, "oh, I hit the gym often." I guess eventually people are going to notice my growing tummy... and boy will I show it off! Oh, and I told the folks I work with at my part-time job (my Friday night gig) that I am pg. I've known a lot of them for 11 years. They were really surprised and really happy. It was fun to tell. My friend Barb is a massage therapist and we've been close for 10 years. I asked her if she is skilled in pre-natal massage and she said "yes". Then I told her that I would need to make some appointments. At first she looked confused, then said "for who?" I just smiled and then she busted out into tears. So awesome to see everyones emotion. I'll be telling the staff at my full-time job at our staff meeting on the 22nd. Have all of you told your friends, families, co-workers the news? Any good stories out there?
Lou--- 1 beautiful baby girl from a single 8 cell embie in Sept 2011
I got curious and wanted to research gender ratio with IVF... so I started reading. And here's what I found out:
If you had a FRESH 5 DAY TRANSFER --- You are more likely to have a BOY (60%). This is because for some reason male embryo's divide faster and reach blastocyst stage quicker and are therefore more likely to be chosen by the embryologist for transfer especially if you had > 4 embies.
IF you had a FRESH 3 DAY TRANSFER -- You are still very slightly more likely to have a BOY, but it's much closer to 50/50 here... I think I read 51/49.
IF you had a FROZEN TRANSFER -- You are more likely to have a GIRL, because they are known to survive the thaw better.
IF you used ICSI -- You are more likely to have a GIRL, because the "female" sperm are the most lively and quickest and thus look the healthiest. Therefore, more likely to be chosen by the embryologist for fertilization.
If you had > 4 embryos to choose from at ET -- You are more likely to have a BOY (faster dividing)
If you had < 4 embryos to choose from at ET -- You are more likely to have a GIRL (overall heartier)
Here is the link to one of the studies I found if you want to check it out.... http://www.springerlink.com/content/a88426htv50463tm/
Here is their conclusion: Conclusions: It appears that significantly more males are born than expected after day 5 transfer in IVF. However, a subgroup analysis in our data comparing IVF, ICSI and FER revealed more females born after ICSI and FER, suggesting that further research is needed in this area.
hjw i just love seeing your ticker go up cant believe you are nearing the half way point. Havent really thought about getting a doppler think i would panic if i couldnt find the heartbeat, i think argos sell them as well. Did you enjoy the Masters?? I was so tired went to bed at 11:30 but delighted Mickelson won, all my family are golf fanatics (i dont play) esp. my dad he is an excellent golfer j is really getting into it now he only got his handicap 2 wks ago so he is playing every chance he can get.
Steph. how are you today???
Lou dont worry i dont have any nausua anymore and what i did have wasnt that much. I am on metformin since Dec. and when i 1st went on it i was vomiting several times a day and felt absolutly awful now my body is used to it so may thats why i dont feel the nausua - it was seriously worse than the m/s i got from my last pg. Loving your appetite hmmm would like a fry up!! I go from craving one thing, have it, then say i never want to eat it again!! According to your gender info i should be having a girl i had 3day transfer with over 4 embryos to choose from and used icsi. Cant wait to find out whos right.
AFM my doctor rang this evening at 6:45pm, my results are back i think i understand but medical terms are confusing!! Anyway originally my NK levels were 15.4 (they like to see under 11.5 to be normal) and mine are now 10.6 which he said is very good and normal, now you cant change the number of killer cells within those levels as we all have killer cells to fight off different infections etc but the drips send these cells away from my uterus. Even though he is happy he wants me to have another Intralipid drip just to be on the safe side and to get me to the 12 wk mark where the baby is strong enough to fight these cells itself. I am so glad my levels are much lower and its a relief to get another drip as knowning me i would panic next wk in case they decided to return. I have to ring the office tomorrow to try schedule a session for this wk i am also going to try move my scan till then (few days early) as i want to know the baby is ok before getting the drip....it might relax me a bit. Right may go i made some delicious milk and white choco. chip muffins today and gonna have some with icecream......no wonder i look about 4 mths pg!!! Oh as for telling people only close family and friends know but will wait till after 12 wk scan to tell rest even then i dont know!!
Hope everyone else i have missed is doing ok

I am feeling a little better today. I don't hate the world anyway, just a seldom few in it. I was just upset that the spotting gets heavier every so often. Seeing blood, no matter what color it is can really put a damper on things. I just want to enjoy and stop worrying. I can go for a scan if I want to but part of me is so scared to see if something may be wrong. On a lighter note, the house is ready! Well, we went to go see it at least. Seems they missed a bunch of things and maintenance needs to come back in as well as a cleaning crew. Whomever lived there before was rough on the place. Just to look around it is a beautiful house with lots of space!! However, when you look in detail, there are things you have to make sure get fixed.
Gi - Glad your numbers looks good. I am not sure how things work with killer cells, but this will be a success for you!
Lou - I kind of cheated on that little game since I used both the fresh date and the FET date. lol Accourding to the game and the stats on what they will likely be, I am having two girls. Funny, I actually read that boys are the more active sperm but die faster where girl sperm will be slower but live longer. Those stats say girls are the more vigorous swimmers. (We had ICSI.)
Hazel - That's great you got such a good deal on the room! You lucky devil you! A doppler would be nice to have! I have looked and seen a few on Amazon, some of them are pretty expensive here. I wonder if I could buy one from the UK? I got my meds from there because they were cheaper, why not a doppler? lol
Sorry I missed a few... DH has been up all night with 24 hr duty just to have to spend all day signing and inspecting the new house so he is tired and hungry and wants me to hurry up so we can eat. lol Catch up more later.
