can I join in ?

Post by Wendy »

I'm testing on the 5th like Caz but have done a really stupid thing - i took a pregnancy test yesterday. I can't believe I did it, but for some reason the doc said I could have a blood test on the 12th day as well as day 16. I have to have the day 16 test, AF or not, so I didn't want to look daft getting a neg blood test on day 12 only to have to go in again on day 16, so i thought i'd take a preg tst then if it was pos i'd get the blood test to get the hcg levels, but IT WAS NEGATIVE and now i'm totally devastated. But also I've got nagging in the back of my head that day 12 is too early especially since i read after that the test was sensitive to over 50 rather than 25, but then neither do i want to get my hopes up and reckon that if i was preg then there would be a faint line or something. HELP i'm going mad !!!!!!

Hi Wendy,

I just your post and my clinic told me that there have been cases where people have done home tests on their own which have been negative only to go in and get a positive result on the pg blood test. In fact they told me that one woman had a negative on a self test the same morning that she got a positive reading in the afternoon on the blood test they gave her. I think a number of the home tests aren't capable of detecting really small amount of HCG and that is all that would be in your system right now.

Anyway, don't give up yet!

Hi Sue :(

I am so sorry to read your news. It is so hard to accept at first but it's good to see that you wont be giving up. Have some time out with your DH and have lots of cuddles and a big glass of wine.

Take care and keep your chin up.

Hi Traci

Hope those embies are tucked upnice and warm!!! :D

I test TOMMORROW and am bricking it!!!!!!

AM trying to stay +ve but like last time-no symptons whatsoever.....I did FET so maybe thats why as ovaries etc dont need to get back to normal!!

My main reason for thinking it has not worked is that constipation is a sign of pg and I have been the opposite-sorry-tmi-(this could be because of pessaries and am now paranoid they have not been doing there job and I should have queried with clinic)

Anyway, am totally waffling now......
Take care everyone

Sarah - have the same problem!!
I also - have the most awful bloated feel - really quite uncomfortable - does anyone else have this? IS is just the pessaries? Its not OHSS or anything is it? Feel OK otherwose. No other symptoms. Boobs hurt - but then they do just before AF anyway.
We test Wednesday and I too am totally bricking it and also convinced not going to get that far.
Good luck tomorrow!!

Staci - congrats on joining us on the 2WW - nw the fun REALLY starts for you!

Sue - I am SO SO sorry - I totally know what you are going through and it sucks. I found I was just all over the place - one minute feeling like I had a grip on it the next in tears....I think the progesterone takes it time to wear off - but then you WILL feel better - I promise. Take care.

Wendy , Jen, Tania - good luck!

Can we have an update on any symtoms yet?!

I have the MOST bloated / Sore tummy (worse than during ec and et) and slightly sore boobs and bit tired and spots on chin (not in pants...yet!)....all typical symtoms that AF arriving - even DH says I look like I do just before AF comes :-(

Tell me how you are all feeling?!

I cannot tell a lie Dagny - I am offically VERY VERY scared now - have given up all pretence of being brave. Thing I'm dreading most is getting AF first thing tomrrow which is exactly what happened last time - and not even making to the test.
Tummy still very sore when I more about - doc said was either my uterus growing (good0 or contracting (bad)....so who knows!

Anyone else had this - bloated, achey tummy after et??

Anyway

Hiya Caz

I feel for you. It is such a stressful time and when there is only a day to go it gets worse. I am crossing everything for you and even if you do bleed before testing it's not always a bad sign. Some girls have bled a lot before the test day and gone on to have a healthy baby or babies.

My tummy was really sore and bloated when I got my positive so who knows? It's in the lap of the Gods now.

Take lots of care, I am thinking of you and lighting my candle as well as Katelyn's.

Much love and babydust from Dagny xkx
