Two Years On and still Amazed

Post by NickyJ »

Hello strangers,

Sorry I ahven't been around for a while, but I do try and sneak a quick peek at the site when I can, and lovely to see all the familiar names, and a huge hello to Loonpants and the Mad as a Badger Tracey S. ALso Jules R I will be in touch soon, but you remember how busy I was last year...can you believe it is worse with loads of travel...agghhhh

Anyway just popped back to say that next week my little angels are two and I can't believe the journey we have been on. I was the first birth on this site and now there are so many mummies and mummies to be that it really feels like a little Mothers group. I love catching up withthe news and even when it is not the happiest news it is always inspiring and really makes me appreciate the miracles that I have in my life.

Rebecca is almost a Mini me (but blonde!!!) she is an allsinging all dancing little chatterbox and absolutely mad about Ducks (Mad as a badger I reckon!!!) and Ross is the biggest flirt you have ever met...still tiny but a real giggler. Lats night at bedtime I was sitting with them having a cuddle when it just hit me how special IVF is and the whole panic and worry, stress and misery are all such distant memories....except for the dreaded 2ww that still haunts me!!!

SO today just wanted to say Hi, and send the hugest hug from all of us and let you know how wonderful, special and inspiring you all are. And next week when I help them blow out their birthday candles I'll be making a special wish for everyone on the site.

Loads of love
Nicky, Andy

Hi Nicky

I'm so relieved to see you back here; you were just about to get another snail-mail letter to ask how you were.

It sounds like our four are fairly similar. Charlotte is a Mini-me, although I don't think I throw tantrums like she does. And Daniel is a real charmer and a definite hit with the ladies.

As for you young lady (she says in her sternest teacher voice), I thought that you were supposed to be cutting down on work and chilling out. Make sure that you don't work too much will you; it's not worth too much stress.

Take care and big hugs to Ross and Rebecca.

Love Jules

Hi Nicky

I don't come on very much nowadays either but was having a peak and saw your note. Wow - 2 years old already. I bet you can't believe where the time has gone.

Is Ross still really tiny?? We had our 6 month review last week and they're concerned that Harvey is still off the charts! He seems as bright as a button to us but they reckon he's lagging behind. Mine were born at 34 weeks - weren't your two 29 weeks?? Would be really interested to hear how your two did on the developmental front whilst still wee babies.

Jules - great to see you as well. It's just wonderful seeing their little charractes develop, isn't it. Max is most like me - quite laid back and a happy little baby. Harvey takes after his Dad - all feisty!!!! Knows what he wants and when he wants it!

Tracey - I've posted on your scan note. Great to hear things are going so well. Take care of yourself.

LOL to all of you.

Helen, Jules and Tracey,

Thanks for your replies and great to hear fro you all. I am just popping in to see what is happening, but (Jules don't give me a row for this) am away again with work for another week so it is very haphazard keeping up with the posts.

Tracey, so chuffed it is all going so well for you, and will have everything crossed till we finally get the post saying they are here and well!! Jules, will promise to get some time next week to e-mail you..and so sorry I missed their Birthdays but will explain later.. Helen, Rebecca has sailed through all her development checks, Ross had a wee stumble on the 12 month one's as he wasn't walking and had extra hearing tests but now is all clear and they seem to be happy with his progress, it doesn't help that Rebecca is a bossy Madam and dominates everything he does...but that is the joy of twins!! The Doctor we have is very good and keeps telling us that the less you stress about their development the easier it is for all...I like that!!!

They were born at 29 weeks but now they have stopped doing all the corrected age stuff, and can't beleive how much they have progressed. So try not to stress about it....and Boys are always harder at these tests...typical...it just makes me appreciate that women can multi task and are much better communicators and it is not just a society thing it is definately inbred!!!

Anyway off to have a Mad as a Bager training course, where I am supposed to teach 30 of our Leading managers howw to communicate more effectively....ha, ha, ha....agghhhhhhhh

Take care
Nicky
