Katie -- Can't believe you're not released from your RE yet!!! Does your OB even know you're pregnant yet? What a shocker when you walk in 16 weeks preggo...haha. Yay... your u/s is today! Can't wait for your update!!! That's funny that your DH thinks he is handy but isn't...lol... mine actually is handy and we even finished our basement ourselves. We ran all the electric and put up the drywall, but then had a professional sand and tape it. Then we put in a full bathroom, hardwood floors in 1/2, a wet bar, carpet the other half, a slate fireplace, surround sound. It's our oasis...lol.

Steph -- How's settling into the new house going? I didn't realize you had a daughter already. How does she feel about the twins coming?

Gi -- Yes, yes... get sis to help you get those pics up!

Malya -- I'm so sorry you had that awful scare! But relieved and happy everything looked good. I feel fortunate that I haven't had any issues like that (knock on wood). So many ladies have dealt with bleeding and spotting. Thank goodness everyone's babies are fine.

Babyluv -- What's an "HR doctor"? And why would you need an ultrasound every 4 weeks?

Hazel -- So glad you finally found the heartbeat with your doppler. I really need some validation that all is well inside. I don't know for sure if I'll get an u/s on Monday, but I sure hope so! Your measurements and scan pic look awesome! Congrats!

Claud, Ronda, Hope, Karen, everyone else -- How are you all doing?

AFM -- I'm doing very well. Just nervous about what's going on inside. But I've felt really really good the last couple of days. I had a ton of energy yesterday so I went to my spin class. I loved it. My instructor was astounded how great I feel and that I haven't missed her class once. Right now I'm only spinning twice a week for an hour, plus 2 hours of tennis on Saturday, weight lifting (lighter weights, many reps) 45 mins twice a week (P90X videos at home), and elliptical at home whenever I can fit it in. My last acupuncture appointment is this afternoon after work. I'll miss my acupuncturist! Then I'm going home to go out to dinner to Famous Dave's BBQ with DH and we are renting New Moon much to his dismay...haha. Anyone see it? I've read all the books so I have to. Hey, at least I didn't make him see it in a theatre! Tomorrow we are going to see one of my oldest friends whom I grew up with. I moved in when I was 4 years old and he was 5 and we played a lot as kids. By high school, we drifted apart and had different friends. Then he moved to California and we only shared an occasional email. Now he came back a couple of years ago after his divorce and is now dating a really nice girl and living downtown Chicago. We get together every couple of months as couples and his gf and I have become great friends and often meet up to lunch and shop. So it will be really exciting for me to give them the news. I think I'll also call my SIL on Sunday to see how she's doing. I don't know much about her IVF treatment, except that she's starting with her next cycle and going to Mayo Clinic. I really do wish her the very best. My weekend is quite busy so if I don't have a chance to drop in, I'll catch up with everyone on Monday, which is my FIRST OB APPT!!!!! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Hi everyone -

Well we just came back from the NT scan - and I have to say it was a bit disappointing. This was the first u/s that my DH has seen, so he was really excited
She did the HB abdominally ( and we got to hear it too! HR at 158  ) but then said it would be easier to see everything trans vaginally. And here I thought that we were done with "The Wand" its not that I minded it, but I've never had a vaginal u/s that lasted 1 hr before either! Ummm, ouch! And then the baby was cozily curled up on its side with the backside to the screen, of course! So the sonographer was REALLY having a hard time getting to measure what she needed to! She started "poking" my abdomen with a back and forth motion to make the baby move - but NO WAY! Apparently this one is stubborn already! So then she tells me to start coughing hard to help get the baby to move - ummm, nope. So then she has me coughing more while I poke my abdomen as well. So this goes on forever. And during this boy, she wasnt being so light handed with that darn wand! I wont be surprised if I see some spotting later. So after about 45 minutes, I could tell she was getting frustrated, my DH was trying to lighten things up so he makes me start laughing, and what so you know? She finally got the measurements she needed, but I tell you this woman had zero personality. OH, and before I forget the most important part (well to me at least) the whole time my DH was right behind her so thankfully he could see EVERYTHING, but she had the screen turned so I couldnt see ANYTHING AT ALL! So. Not. Fair. Oh, well at least I got to hear the HB for 30 secoonds before she turned the sound off. When we were leaving, she handed me 2 blurry, sort of crappy pictures that I swear my sono pics from 5 & 6 wks were way more clear than these! sigh. My DH told me that he could see the spine, the brain, arms, legs, heart, head and nose - so I'm a bit jealous that I didnt get to see that also, maybe next time we'll get a different sonographer? I hope so. Oh, and on the drive home, my hubby thought he was soooooo funny when he said that a few screens looked like the alien from the movie "Alien" ummm, gee thanks, hon. And with all of the poking and making me cough hard for 20 minutes straight? She never once told me to eat the chocolate bar that they told me to bring with me! I'll post the "crappy" pics now and come back for personals after I grab some lunch! - xoxoxo

OK now that the belly is happy, I"m back

Lou I know! I dont think my RE is ever going to release me! My DH thinks its his way of ensuring that he stays in the loop and gets good baby pics!
No, joking aside- I think he was unhappy with my P4 being over 80 while on PIO then dropping to 20 when just on 2 Crinone a day. So I had to order more again today -ugh. Either that or he is so thrilled that his idea and generosity of giving us donoe embies has him feeling very proud and involved? I really do wish that I could have him as my OB too, but he's so busy as an RE that i dont think he sees patients as an OB anymore - thats a shame, because for him I would continue the the loooong drive to PA. Yep, I think my lower belly is a little rounder now too. I think that its easier to see on you because of your athlete's body!
How fantastic that the both of you guys are handy! I've learned to assess the project first since my DH ALWAYS says "Oh yeah, I can do that" sigh if only it were true... I tore through the whole twillight series ( I'm sort of a book worm) and have seen both the movies with my DH, who actually ended up liking them
It stays true to the book, but I think your DH can follow it no problem. I'm planning to reread the whole series soon - I just love a book that can keep me turning pages even when I should be asleep. I'm excited for your appt on Monday! I do hope that you get a u/s. I think you will since you've just had one, the new OB will want to confirm for himself. I just cant believe that your workout schedule - you are an animal!!! Just reading about it makes me tired! Well we all know who will bounce back to "bikini ready" first huh? Have a great weekend with your old friend!

Steph How goes your new house? I love trying to figure out where everything will go.

Babyluv How are you feeling? hope you dont have m/s times two!

Hazel Whew! That must have been so great to see everything in such detail! I hear you on the rubbish sono pics - mine were rubbish also! I dont understand how my 6wk pic of a dot was soooo much clearer? I cant believe that you even got to see the footprints! How cute was that? I'm so glad that everything is measuring right on schedule for you! I have to say that I'm a little jealous of how much you got to see - I was hoping to get to see something, anything at all. I am assuming that when I go to the OB on the 30th that he'll tell me that all was measuring on schedule? Its harder to have a sono without your Dr there, but he said that we'll go over the results at my next appt - yay more waiting ugh

Gi How are you feeling honey? Yes please do have your sister figure you out about the sono pics!

It seems a bit quiet around here - where is everyone? - xoxoxo

Katie - Those pics are great! You can see the face clearly and the looks like the little left hand by his/her little mouth in the one! So cute! Baby's first profile! Moving is going slow... we took a few things with us but still waiting on movers. They won't be here till Sunday. The living room is really long, like they left room for an extra dining space but the dining room is huge so no need for it. Not sure what to do with that space. Once the twins are born it would make a great play area, but for the next 7 months what do I do with it? lol I have a nice small two person table I could put there for now I suppose? Eh... I will figure something out.

Lou - We all went to see New Moon the first day it came out. I have a 10 going on 20 year old little girl who is in love with Taylor Lautner. lol She has posters everywhere of him, including a t-shirt, hoody that says "It's a wolf thing" and a jewelry box. Good you are keeping in touch with an old friend. I haven't had much luck keeping in touch with my old friends. The last time I got close to one of my old high school buddies, she snuck a peek at one of my "personal" photos on my phone of my husband (if you get what I mean) and afterwards tried getting him in bed. So... that didn't work out very well to say the least. :x But, I cut ties of course and no more drama there. Hope your SIL gets her wish. We all know what she is going through, but I understand why you don't want to share your story. Hope your appt goes well, hopefully we will both have pics to post! :)

Hazel - How cute! Looks like you might have a little butterball on your hands. :) Might have to keep a close eye on that one. Big babies are so adorable though!

So.. my friend was telling me that I have to give her the heartbeat rates after my appt on Monday. She says there is a trik that is almost full proof on telling if it is a boy or a girl. Not sure I agree, but could be fun to compare if it fits the results of the game Lou posted. She said heartbeats 10 weeks or later are more accurate. If it is above 150 it is a girl, below is a boy. I argued this a bit since good heart rates are between 120-160, doesn't leave much room for a girl. We will see come 20 week scan or birth though won't we? lol

Katie - yay for everything looking good, but sorry you weren't able to see the screen, that's pretty mean of your sonographer! Don't worry, your Nuchal scan pics are just as clear (or unclear) as mine were - I think the problem generally is that things look so clear when you see them on the screen and the sonographer is able to move round the particular body parts, but in a one off snapshot it never looks as easy to make out. I can't believe they made you do the scan using the vaginal u/s - mine was done with a full bladder abdominally a week earlier than yours, so I don't really believe that they couldn't have done that for you. Ouch for an hour's worth of poking about, sounds like your sonographer wasn't very gentle, poor you. Zorba was just the same as your little one and fast asleep through the whole thing, so the guy doing our scan had to try and get him/her to move so that he could measure the back of the neck - that involved lots of hard tapping on my abdomen (not fun with a full bladder!) for about 5-10 minutes until Zorba gave a grumpy little arch of the back (which thankfully was good enough to get the measurement) then promptly went back to sleep!!

gi - I'm starting to feel Zorba wiggling about periodically, but it's still not that regular and I have whole days where I don't feel it, so I think it's still early days. It wasn't moving around much on the scan (plus see my story about sleeping through the Nuchal scan) so I think I may have a lazy as well as a fat little baby in there, hahaha!

lou - not long until Monday now!

Steph - Zorba is destined to keep me guessing on whether it's a boy or a girl, it seems! I don't know whether you recall, but the Prediction Chart and then the stats which lou posted could go either way for me, and now your friend's heartrate claims are inconclusive as well! When I persuaded the midwife to listen to the heartbeat at 16 weeks when I was having all that horrible abdominal pain, it was bang on 150! So more likely girl than boy, perhaps??? The hospital wouldn't tell us yesterday (policy of theirs) and we're undecided whether to pay for a private scan simply to find out, so we're being kept guessing, lol. Hope the rest of the house move speeds up soon and you can get fully settled in, and that you work out a use for the extra space. Better to have a problem of too much space than too little, though, particularly with two on the way!!

AFM, our holiday plans look doomed! We were supposed to be flying tomorrow to Dubai, but the UK has had all flights grounded since Thursday due to a volanic eruption in Iceland which has caused a huge cloud of volcanic dust to come down to Europe on the prevailing winds. Apparently it's not safe to fly through as it contains small glass particles which can cause engine failure if they get in. Initially, flights were grounded until Thursday night, then Friday lunchtime, then Friday night, and now they are saying that the cloud still isn't moving and so flights are grounded until at least tonight. So it's not looking good. The problem is if our flight doesn't take off tomorrow is that there are going to be 4 days worth of passengers trying to rebook, so it's anyone's guess how long it will take for us to find a flight out there, and we're only going for 9 nights anyway. It's a bit of a nightmare!

Hi everyone -

Hope that all is well with everyone. I'm happy to hear that you all think that my u/s pics were clear, but the price of an hr long vaginal u/s has been cramps since friday - ugh  No spotting though. I just wish that I could shake this all consuming fatigue, though. I thought that was suppossed to start easing up soon? I feel like there are so many chores and errands that i keep putting off , but really how long can you do that? I havent had any m/s for a time now, so i'm hoping thats over with for good.

Steph How is your new place coming along? You're most likely finished by now. I never could stop unpacking once I got started either. I know a girl who lived out of boxes for months after moving into a new place - It drove me crazy to visit her! I even offered to help her get organized, but she refused. I'll bet that you are simply loving all the extra space - Enjoy!!

Hazel Oh my! What will happen to your tickets? Are they refundable or exchangeble? I mean it was through no fault of anyones to not be able to fly this weekend. Why do things like this happen when you have a great holiday planned? Thats just so wrong. I do hope that you can get things rebooked and sorted out so you can still get to enjoy your Babymoon while you are still comfortable. - I wasnt aware of all of that hard tapping during the u/s either. And they told me that the next one between 18-22 weeks will have to be done with a full bladder - ugh now doesnt that sound fun?

Lou Yay! Tomorrow is finally Monday! I know that you cant wait! Do whatever you have to do to get yourself a u/s - I cant wait to hear all about it

Gi / Ronda / Hope / Claudia Where are you guys?? Hope to hear from you all soon

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxoxo

Hello all - Sorry I have been MIA for quite some time...but I have been reading all posts and am updated and glad to hear all is going well for everyone! This m/s is not fun and I have headaches with dizzy spells that are unbearable! I had nothing like this when I was preganant with our DS all the way down to how my boobs feel is different. This is a whole new experience for me.

I did the gender chart and have to say that is says I am having a DS however...I believe that I will be one in which I get a different result because I feel so different with this pregancy than I did with my DS. And, lou gave the information about frozen transfers and ICSI in which I had both and according to this I am more likely to have a girl. Also, the information about heartbeats is interesting....mine is always between 156 - 168 so this may indicate a girl as well. (I have a doppler and take the heartbeat each day so I am grateful). Who knows, only time will tell.

I go for my 12 week u/s this coming Friday and the place that my OB uses is very thourough and high risk patients go there (although I am not high risk my OB sends all patients there). My friend went here and the u/s are 3-D/4-D and she found out at 12 weeks she was having a boy. I can't imagine finding out so soon! On this day I am also having the 1st trimester screening done so I am anxious and nervous. Has anyone opted to have these tests?

I am so glad to hear things are going well for everyone and I vow to post more even though I am not feeling well...funny how I missed "talking" with everyone! :)

Hi Katie - boo for cramping and for mean sonographers who won't do the Nuchal scan abdominally! My 20 week scan was done with a full bladder as well, but there shouldn't be any need for any tapping, there's just a little pressure as they move the sensor thing (sorry, I should know the actual name!) over your stomach. The fatigue will start easing soon I promise - things improved generally for me from 12-13 weeks, and then one day in week 16 I woke up with my old bounce in my step and with tons more energy.

Our flight tonight did indeed get cancelled - flights have now been totally grounded in the UK (and most of Europe) for the last 4 days and there's no sign of the volcano stopping its eruptions so it's anyone's guess when things will improve. We are currently rebooked on a flight out to Dubai on Wednesday night and our travel agents have been angels and got the airline and the hotel to move our return date back by three days as well, for no extra cost. But as I say, it's by no means a certainty that planes will be able to fly by Wednesday, so at the moment we're just having to keep an eye on what's happening. The problem is that while for me it's not necessarily a huge issue to keep pushing the holiday back by a few days, that's not going to fly for DH's work for much longer. We could probably afford to delay it once more by a few days and then honestly we would just have to cancel and see if we could get our money back. What's so frustrating is that we can't say 'oh well, let's cancel and fly somewhere nice later in the summer instead when all this chaos will be long behind us' because I'm only able to fly for another 7-8 weeks, and the point of going away now was to enjoy a holiday before I get too big and unable to move around and play golf. Aaaaarrrgh!!!!

Hi everyone. How are all of you pregger's feeling? I'm feeling pretty decent on and off. Just can't completely shake the occasional nausea and indigestion. I've resorted to eating only small portions now. Anyone else having problems getting down vegetables? It's not easy for me for some reason. I think tomorrow after my OB appt I'm going to go get some V8 juice...the one low in sodium, of course. Can't believe I'm almost 13 weeks. Can't wait to get another scan of my little babies tomorrow at my appt. Will find out this week if I have to take a low dose of heparin or not. Praying not, but whatever it takes is fine. According to the heartbeat "predictor" I'm having girls. That's what the chinese chart says too. And my OB made a guess based on HB that they are girls...but then said he was wrong with his own son, so it's just a gimmick. So who knows. DH still doesn't want to find out their sexes. I'm contemplating finding out for myself and keeping it a secret. Is that bad? hehehe I'm dying to know. Oh, and can you believe that I sneezed hard not too long ago and wet my underpants slightly????? How can this be happening already!!! hehehehe

Mayla- I understand how you felt with the bleeding. I've had two of those due to a subchorionic hematoma. Do you know what caused your bleeding?

Katie- Love your u/s pics. So adorable. How can an u/s tech not move the screen so you can see it? What a dumb a$$. I mean seriously. No excuse for being inconsiderate!!!!! Next time be sure to ask to see the screen!!!! This is your experience, not hers!

Hope everyone has a great evening. I'm tired (again) so going to rest! xo

Good morning Ladies! Sorry to have gone MIA but unfortunately April is my busiest month and I have been working every night and then I had a bunch of family obligations this weekend so I have been reading but not posting!

Hazel-oh honny, I got everything crossed your trip will happen and that you will get your wonderful babymoon trip to India worked out! Yah for hearing the hb on the doppler and adorable u/s pics with his/her buddha belly!

Katie-sorry you had such a negative experience at your scan but such a cute pic!!! An hour with the wand inside you?!?! Yikes!!!

Karen-good luck at your scan today! Hope you get some nice pictures:)

lou-how are you mama?!? I can't wait to hear how your apt goes today!!! Good luck!

Afm-i had some red bleeding Thursday night (not a lot but definitely new blood) so I had to go in Friday for a rhogan shot since I'm A- bloodtype and they didn't want me to start creating anti-bodies! I also have lost most of my symptoms except for fatigue so I'm trying not to over-analyze and attribute it that my body is adjusting and I'm decreasing my pio dose. I will be very happy on Wednesday once we see flick again!

Hi girls,

Katie your scan pic. is lovely it looks really clear, i dont understand why he wouldnt show you the screen how mean!!!!!

hjw sorry your hols has been delayed my poor sis, partner and 2 yr old are stuck in Malta were due back last thurs but obvioulsy still cancelled she thinks poss may be able to fly this thurs depending on the ash clouds shifting. She says its a "living nightmare" but then again she is a bit dramatic we keep telling her its out of her control, she has enough money in her a/c and just relax till thurs as like thousands of others there is literally nothing she can do!! At least she got her hol unlike you i would rather be stuck on hols than waiting to go :!:

Claud sorry you still have some bleeding how blooming annoying and scary, dont worry my symptoms come and go as well.

lou good luck today i hope you get a u/s

Hey ladies!! How is everyone feeling? I have been doing some catching up and it sounds like things are moving right along for everyone which is great to hear.
We had another u/s this past Friday and got to see the little peanut dancing and moving all around! I was pretty crazy to watch. But we got another good report. The little one is measuring further along than they thought and the heartbeat was 169. I had to have a bunch of blood work and a pap test which was not much fun but I survived. I still have to be on the progesterone injections and I am supposed to go back in another 2 weeks. I will be pretty much through my first trimester by then so I am assuming I should be released to an OB doctor. Which we don't have at the moment so we are going to have to go with our specialist’s recommendation I guess.
I am still feeling really good. Not much morning sickness to speak of- just a little funny in the morning until I eat something. But I am still very tired in the evenings. Starting to grow a little baby bump which my DH loves by my work clothes do not! So, I do not know how much longer I am going to be able to hold off buying some maternity clothes..??
And according to the chinese gender predictor chart it looks like we are going to be having a boy! Which is fun but I will be happy with either as long as the little thing is healthy!!

Well take it easy mommies and happy baby thoughts to everyone!!
