Tiger04...I haven't really been given a whole lot of explanation for the no af really. In high school they blamed it on the fact that I was very thin and active so they put me on bcp. I took that all the way until 2007 when they found a tumor on my right ovary. I came off of the bcp after my surgery because I got really sick and wasn't keeping the bcp down anyways. The surgery was December of 2007 and by May of 2008 I hadn't had af since before they found the tumor. From there they put me on provera because I said I didn't want to be on bcp anymore. They also did a bunch of bloodwork. They found me to have hypothyroidism, but even when my tsh levels are under control on synthroid I don't get af on my own. I have been taking provera just about every month to get it, with the exception of this past December when the evil witch showed up on my wedding day without the use of provera! Go figure! They have diagnosed me with PCOS, but part of me wonders if that was just to have a diagnosis, because I don't fit the PCOS profile really. What I did learn though was that if you don't get a period you don't ovulate. So, even though I am 24, my endocrinologist told me I don't have to wait the typical 12 months ttc before going to a RE. The RE said the same thing...no af means no ovulation. I know this really isn't any advice for your friend, but maybe some of this will help.

This might be a silly question, so apologize in advance if it is...but how do some of you know the dates in advance that you will be starting stims? I can't gauge that until I get af. Just curious

rypell1985 - that is not a silly question at all. My RE does a suppression cycle before the stimulation cycle. The "theory" behind this is to let the ovaries rest. The other nice thing about this is they can vary your cycle length slightly so you can start on a certain day. I took birth control pills for two weeks and the last one was Saturday, so my RE knows my period will come this week so he already has a day to start stims. make sense?

Hi Guys,

Had my appointment with the IVF nurse to get all my meds etc today. So I start the Synarel this Thursday. I've had an otherwise rough day as my DH's mother is very ill and likely to pass away today, so other than ER is planned for the week of May 17 if all goes to plan, I can't remember a thing!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Cheers

I had my ET yesterday.........what a stressful day. They gave me the wrong time so I waited over an hour in the office for my retrieval and report which just added to my stress. It is a 2 hour drive so that doesn't help and then my meds were not ready.......Uuuggghh!

I still had 5 embryos, all but one was great quality, one was a little behind. Due to the multiple failures my RE recommended us transferring all 5 - after a long struggle we did! He thinks this will give us our best shot at getting pregnant with a baby. There is a chance of multiples but we will need to deal with this if it comes. I need some PMA!!! After so many failures, I wonder if it ever is going to work! My beta is scheduled for 4/29 but due to my HCG injections it will be a + so I will need to retest on 5/1 and possible again 5/3! That the roller coaster ride intensify!

Thank you all for your kind words and prayers. I will try to do personals later. Thank you all again for the wonderful support!

Hello ladies!

Hi Julie, nice to meet you! :D Lots of baby dust to you!

purplefish, how is your cold? Oh, I sympathise... I have just emerged from a really bad bronchitis, took me around 20 days to get rid of it!!!!! *HUGS*

Tiger,
I've done several lists with funny smileys and images; if you need help just pm me! :)
How are you doing?

Anissa,
Hi! Oh, what a transfer day!!!!! :( But hey, sometimes hectic transfer days can turn out soooooo well! like the dress rehearsal before the premiere! People use to say that, when the dress rehearsal goes really bad, the first show is awesome! I remember our last transfer day, it was horrible, and guess what? :D So I'll keep fingers and toes crossed for you, and say congratulations, because now you're PUPO!!!!! yaaaaay! What have you planned for your 2ww to deal with the wait?

Rypell,
How are you doing? Wow, what a medical adventure you,ve had... and to top it off, AF on your wedding day! OH that's just not fair!!!!!!! I agree with you, evil is the word... still hasn't showed up and I've been downregging for 10 days now...

Kizmet,
Oh, starting meds tomorrow! How do you feel about that? Oh, I'm very sorry to hear about your mother.... I don't think there's one right thing to say, so I'll just give you a big warm hug (((((((HUG))))))) and keep you in my thoughts. Hang in there sweetie...

bei, hi there, great to meet you! :D When do you start your next round of meds?

Sorry for anyone that I might have missed...

AFM, nothing much to report. I've started suprefact as planned, and I've been on in since then. Still waiting for AF, although she makes me kinda feel she's about to finally arrive... still nothing. Hehehehe I notice I've started doing the usual panty check each time I go to the bathroom. We're complicated ladies... first you want to see blood, and after transfer you check and hope NOT to see any. ;) Other than that, I had some dizziness because of the meds, but now it's okay.

I'll see you around! :D

I just have to remind myself that this cold won't last forever... and it won't kill me :D I am also bummed because this is my last week running and I haven't been able to get out at all with this cough I have. I had the injection teaching class last night, it was simple and easy. I was impressed that they take actual leftover meds to inject into a fake stomach or bottom so you get the feel of exactly how it will work. I asked about injecting the IM shots by myself and the nurse said it was possible but not easy. They will draw some targets on my bottom with a sharpie when the time gets closer to make it easier

Anissa,
Lots of fingers crossed for you! I really hope this is your time!

PMApsy
It always seems when we want AF it never happens and when we don't... surprise!

kizmet - sorry to heat about your DH's mother (hugs). Are you all set with your Synarel? Do you start any other meds soon?

bei - glad to have you onboard.

Hope everyone else is great too!

Hello Everyone - and Happy Hump Day! :) My sister's wedding is this coming weekend and I'm getting so excited!!!

Sophie - the estrogen patches are going fine, it's just like a nicotine patch (my friend said to me) - I don't even notice they're on and I can put them on my upper thigh, hip or belly...painless/much better than another shot. I already like the FET a lot better than a fresh cycle, I'm much more relaxed (still on Lupron right now too) so I have a few bruises but it's not too bad!

Ryann - I did best rest (based on what my RE said) for 1-2 days afterwards and then took it easy (but got back to normal) around day 3 - I'm taking a full week off work this time, I just don't want to have to stress about getting back to work. I work in a cube, so I'm not too concerned about being away!

Tiger04 - misocial from the March/April group does the pics and I love them - hopefully you figure it out.

I have my ultrasound on Monday to make sure my lining is thick enough to do a transfer a week from Monday - I am getting really excited and starting to feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel!

Hope everyone has a great week - I'm pretty busy over the next few days for my sister's wedding but I promise to catch back up on Sunday and do personals and see how everyone's doing!

All the best - baby dust for EVERYONE!
