Ok so the nurse called me and she says hi Lauren how are you? I said im ok how are you? She says Im good and so are your embryos!!!!!!!!!!!!! There dividing just as they should be!!! So ET tomorrow! This is my first IVF so I dont know that 3 day transfers are the best but bc I only had two there putting them back...
On another note my best friend passed away in her sleep unexpectedly sunday morning and her funeral is tomorrow?? Ahh how can I not go? This is horrible and im trying to be happy but then on another note so sad and I feel selfish! I talked yo her mom and she said not to worry but still...

Second of all I think even if you have to do your ET you can still go to your friend's funeral... Standing and sitting is ok girl.
BTW my condolehence for your bf how tragic that is... I have never hurd of something like that happening... you must be so overwelmed and devastated...
Your embies will not suffer even if you are emotional so try and be yourself and just think of your friend and your embies will be ok dear.

It's a bfn for me. I'm feeling battered and bruised by this whole horrible journey. I don't understand why good things just don't happen to me. I kind of knew this was going to be my result. I had NO symptoms, and sometimes you just know.
I'm so happy that the vast majority on this board are getting bfps. I'm just sorry that, as usual, I'm not one of you. Good luck to you all.

Oh dear Kushka. I am so sorry that you got a BNF... how terrible news this can be.
Do you still have frosties? What are you going to do dear. I am so sorry and devastated for you and your dh. Does your clinic have explainations for this or was it just bad luck you think?? You know although there are a nice numbers of BFP here IVF is always at least almost always a bad news... And the pain and rollocoster and the high hope and expectations make it even worse because we think this is going to work and I just don't understand why it doesn't...

emma dear-everyone on this board keeps repeating the same thing-YOU HAVE GOT TO RELAX!!! These strange things happening to our body are normal and you can't overanalyze every cramp or twinge or you are going to go mad from this whole process....it is normal for our ovaries, bladder, and other digestive tracks to grow and expand so please sit back and enjoy the ride!!! I don't think we can tell you anything different than that so hopefully you will get some peace of mind. Why don't you look into yoga or meditation to relax your body and mind! it might help

On a sad note, I am so very sorry to hear about your friend but I know she would understand why you can’t be there. You have to go through your transfer tomorrow and a funeral is definitely not a way to remain stress free. I know this might sound strange, but when someone passes away, I think of them as an angel and I ask them to look out for the loved ones still on earth. I asked my daughter Ashley to please look out for her sibling and make sure he/she arrives here safely. But, remember this has to be your personal choice and I know you will make the right decision.

Not hopeless yet – I am so sorry that you are uncomfortable. Are they still monitoring your beta levels? The only reason I ask is that I know your u/s is on Monday but ectopic pregnancies usually start out w/ normal betas and then they drop or stop doubling. That is how they found my ectopic because my baby was still too small to show up on the u/s.
Emmax – your ovaries are producing twinges because of the progesterone, which is released from your ovaries. Your embryos are causing your ovaries to work overtime to produce progesterone to support the pregnancy and they are still swollen from your IVF cycle. So they will be a little sore and produce twinges every now and then. You will probably feel them for a few months until they return to their normal size.
Claudia – thank you for the good luck wishes. I am so very happy you saw the heart beat again … that is awesome! You are getting ready to graduate to your OB tomorrow … that is exciting!

AFM – I finally heard from my RE’s nurse this afternoon and she says did you get your blood drawn this morning??? I said “yes at 8am this morning before I went to work”. So then she says ok, let me call them and I will call you back. So by that time I am steaming mad because I have been looking forward to these results all day. Finally, she calls back and says your beta finally DOUBLED!!!!! It went from 207 to 418 in 48 hours! I just can’t believe it … my little baby is finally growing the way he/she should be! Thank you ladies for all of your support and thank you GOD!

Chris I read your post with my head hung low. I 'm sorry just doesnt cut it, but i'll say it anyway. I was so hoping that this was your time and I'm heartbroken that it didnt work out. You are too strong of a woman to give up- you have been through too long of a struggle so far. I'm so sorry.
I truly hope that you keep pushing forward to make your dream come true. There are other options out there, I dont know how strongly you feel about having to have your own DNA, but donor embies are one solution when you're out of pocket at a quarter of the cost of a DE cycle. AFM: You are not going to believe this... I went to the docs this morning and found out that I have a bad case of Strep Throat! I am in soo much pain and havent eaten since yesterday afternoon...and only a few sips of water/clear soup. I've lost 2 lbs since yesterday afternoon. Bill had to take off work again today to care for Zach and now me. I am highly contagious and have been quarantined to my bedroom. I cant believe that I cant even take care of and cuddle my post-op baby. This really stinks. When it rains, it pours. Can I get a break, now?!

So today our doctor calls said we are down to 3 with one struggling, so by the time we come in tomorrow for transfer we may only have 2. He said those 2 are doing okay. I am getting so upset.

Amanda – I am sorry you are stressed but don’t be. Usually, a few embryos don’t make it after they are fertilized or some will not fertilize at all. It happens with retrievals all the time. During my cycle, I had 10 embryos on my right ovary and 10 on my left ovary and my RE couldn’t reach my left ovary because it was hidden behind my bowel and uterus.amanda1979 wrote:So today our doctor calls said we are down to 3 with one struggling, so by the time we come in tomorrow for transfer we may only have 2. My point is that my RE retrieved only 10 embryos and I transferred 1 embryo and only two made it to freeze after they reached the blastocyst stage. I couldn’t believe it … out of 20 eggs that both ovaries generated; I only had 3 that were of good quality. This is so different from my cycle from just a 1 ½ ago. But, your body reacts to the medications different sometimes.
Just remember this; it only takes 1 embryo for you to get your BFP. I am proof of that!
