Sorry it has been so long since I have been on. I had to go to Texas to be with my Mom for surgery. Everything ok, she just needed help.

Bei- the chart you posted is awesome. I plan on showing it to my husband.

Everyone else- Wow y'all are very busy :)

I took my last BCP today. I go in next week for sono, inj teaching and labs. It looks like I will be starting my stim on next Thurs or Fri...kinda scary.

I promise to better about getting on and getting to know everyone.

I'm new to this site...
I started shots today... My first time with ivf. It's been great looking through all of your posts seeing where you are in the process and who's doing what. I'm so new to all this its not funny so it's helped a little with my ivf education. :)
How in the world do you all stay sain and focused? I am so excited in anticipation but at the same time know it's only a small percentage that get's pregnant the first time.
I feel like i have a pretty good outlook but trying to be realistic...
A little about me... i'm 39, my hubby 42 neither of which have any children. Never even been pregnant.
But Very Hopefull!

Welcome sunshine!!! Love the name! Yes, it is crazy and I am glad you found this site it helps to share our experiences, frustrations and insanity! It does happen that you get pregnant on your #1 IVF, we were very lucky that it happened to us so keep the PMA!!! Do you know what kind of fertility issues?

Bei - love your blinkies, they sure brightnen my day! Thank you for the list! Do you know when you get off BCP?

Mcfarland - the meds really make you crazy right? It has to come out at some point! I joke with my DH that I am on crazy pills from now on ;) it helps to have a loving DH!

Purple- wow lots of follies! How awesome! I wish I was a high responder but nope, maybe this time! Congrats on your results!

Anyone here with male fertility issues? We do, and my husband feels bad about it but I tell him that it is all worth it since the chemo cured him from cancer and he is here to be a daddy. Just wanted to see if anyone else had male fertility issues also.

I see that there are quite a few girls here with kids already, who has kids? Were they IVF? How old? from my signature, we have a 18 month old boy conceived through IVF :)

Baby dust to all girls!!!!

Hi Girls,

You've all been so busy! I'm struggling to keep up!

Thanks to all for the kind words about my MIL. The funeral went as well as can be expected and since the synarel seems to be having no effect on me, I survived the wake at our place without killing anybody! I was at first concerned about the lack of side effects, but did a search on the forum here and it seems that plenty of people get away without any side effects on synarel, so I'm feeling much better about that.

Finished the pill today, so just synarel for a few days, blood test on the 3rd May and then start puregon injections on the sixth of May.

Welcome Sunshine - I'm in the same boat as you! Nice to know you're not the only one right? Fingers crossed for both of us that it works in round one!

Cheers and baby dust to all!

bei - I love the list and all your wonderful animations, they make me smile=) I have to say the gonal F is fine for me. Just make sure you take it out of the fridge about 15 minutes before injecting it. I haven't really felt it, or had any side effects from it. The pen is really easy to use. I don't know if your clinic will do this, but mine said they can draw out the last little bit left from each pen and put them into one to make an extra few doses for me, a little money saving tip=) I have to say I am very very lucky besides a little injection site reaction (from the menopur) I have had no side effects from any of the medication so far... yay!

riogirl - I have two 2-year old toddlers and it sure makes a lot less time to obsess over the ivf. I have two days of bedrest after ET, DH is going to have to deal with the kids the whole time. DH doesn't do shots, so I am doing them all myself=( I think the bleeding was just some bad luck. Last night and today no bleeding. How are your meds making you feel? Everything going well?

PMApsy - The catering sounds really interesting. You will have to let us know how your first fondant turned out.

rypell - it stinks your RE is going out of town. I hope AF doesn't come now. Doesn't your RE have someone to cover for her when she leaves?

lisad - hang in there. I thought taking the BCP would never end either, but now it is here and going so fast. Hang in there! You will be there before you know it.

sunshine - welcome, how are the injections going?

mcFarland - loved the info on the wedding, it sounded nice. Too funny about the dresses. Sorry you had a bad day, I think we all go through those, just remember tomorrow will be better!

kizmet - glad everything went as well as it could, and really glad that you have no side effects.

nursejulie - what stims will you be taking?

tomorrow is another ultrasound and blood test for me, hopefully everyone is growing well, I can't believe this week is almost over. Next week is going hopefully to be a big week for us!

Bei - I hope our "dates" for everything are really close because it would be nice to share each step with someone! I will also be doing gonal F. Since that is what I did last time and got pregnant, the RE wants to do everything the same this time around.

Sunshine - Welcome. I know how you feel about being excited and realistic at the same time. It is hard not to get our hopes up, but keep our feet grounded too.

Kiz - I think it is good that you don't have side effects from the meds.

Purplefish - Good luck on your b/w and u/s. Keep us posted.

PMA - I am glad your cramping is going away and a dilettant caterer sounds like fun!

Rio - I start lupron on May 9. My son is almost 18 months old. Running after him does help me to keep my mind from obsessing over this cycle. My twin sister is flying in from Boston to watch my son while I do the ET and bed rest. She is a flight attendant, and so it is pretty easy for her to come to Utah (where I am) to help out when I really need it. By the way...good luck with the stimming.

Anissabug - can't wait until your Friday Beta. I think our first BFP on this board will be coming soon;-).

Purplefish - sounds like you have alot of follicles growing!!

AFM - Sorry if I missed anybody. I thought I would share my experience of taking progesterone shots. I would first ice the area for at least a few minutes. My DH would wrap the injection in a heating pad for about 10 minutes to liquify it. When it came time for the shot, he would push the syringe slowly and then massage the area. Lastly, I would hold the heating pad in the area for awhile too. This really seemed to help...and I never had any of the problems with lumpy butts that I heard other woman complain about. Hope this helps any of you during your future PIOs.
I go in tomorrow for my mock tranfer. Still just taking bcp.

Good morning ladies!

How are you doing? I'm a bit tired, but other than that it's been a great day so far. I worked quite late on the cake yesterday and had a blast!!!!!! Wow, working with fondant is really neat! The recipe worked great and I had fun modeling it. My first cake is really not perfect because I had not anticipated how the losange design would be really tricky on the rim and sides of the cake. So the top is :D :D :D , the sides are okay and the rim is . BUT if someone asks me to do that design again one day I know how I'll do it... :) I'm glad that I got two nice pics of the cake so I'll be able to use them for promo. I absolutely can't wait until I do my Maypole wedding cake on Saturday; I think it will actually be way easier than my first cake because I won't have to figure out an intricate pattern of losanges. Covering two tiers with one layer of fondant will be super easy!

Other than that, almost no cramps or very mild. The nicer side effects of estrace have finally kicked in; that's the other reason why I'm tired (yup, I had energy left after cake decorating!)   I just hope it stops before my 2ww because then it becomes really tricky, LOL!

Thank you for your encouragements, I'll definitely give cake decorating a serious try!!! :)

Anissa,
So, has the snow melted away yet? Here it melted yesterday... and believe it or not, the grass seems greener!!! It looks like the extra water, even frozen, did it good! Go figure!!! I'm glad the PMA is back!!!! Embies, stick to your mommy!!!

purplefish,
Oooh looks like you have a nice ER coming!!!! You'll have your own soccer team with that! ;) And yeah, I see what you mean... you spend time looking forward to your tmt, and then you await the exciting part that seems to take ages to arrive... and then when you,re in it, things move fast and you realize that you'll soon know if it worked or not. It's great because it could be a positive, but it's also a bit of a dread because a BFN means losing hope for this cycle. I'm realistic, but optimistic too, and I love expecting good stuff from the near future! :) Right now, everything is still possible, see what I mean? Sooo, how was the u/s???

mcfarland,
Thanks for sharing more details about your sister's wedding! It looks like it was quite a party! Wow, mac and cheese in martini glasses, how original! Makes me think of chef Bob Blumer who serves pound cake fries with raspberry ketchup, cooks salmon in the dishwasher and serves whole meals on a painter's palette! :) Awwww, must have been so romantic, dancing your first dance again, what a delicate attention! Is your normal mood back? maybe it's just the hormonal transition? Hehehhe an IVF veteran, Auntie Pebbles, used to say "Now repeat after me, "It's not me, officer, it's the meds!!!"

nursejulie,
You're well on your way now! :) Is there something that scares you in particular that you'd like to talk about? *HUGS*

sunshine,
HI! :D it's great to make your acquaintance. Don't worry, before long you'll be an IVF expert. First times are always a bit scary, and it's always an adventure. I'm sending lots of baby dust your way! :D

rio,
my best friend Anne has male fert problems. Her husband's sperm has a nice count, but there is a complete absence of motility. They went through all sorts of emotions, it's still an issue for them because they only told their parents and no one else (not even her siblings). I don't know if you or DH want to talk about it, but if so I could ask my friends if they're willing to discuss the issue with you guys.

kiz,
*hugs* hi there, it's great to have you back! Yeah, some meds have a huge impact on your mood and health, and others, pffft! I was a bit concerned that I would really feel the effects of downregging, but I had one hot flash in two cycles, and that's about it! :D Stimming is at the door I see! Are you getting excited a bit?

lisa,
I totally agree with your RE! Eat the same food, and wear the same clothes! And stop shaving! Oh, wait... that's for sports... hum, but maybe it also works for babies, who knows? How are you doing today hun?

Okay, gotta go. Take care everyone!

HI girls! Glad to see the thread is so active - lots going on!
Just wanted to share a quick story. So Tuesday was our first day of stimms. I get my pen shot of follistim and my bee stinging %$#&*(^ menopur! Ok no big deal... lunch the next day we are counting meds and my DH finds it odd we have one extra pen of Follistim, he opens up the one he used for my shot and ------ it is the training pen full of saline!!!! So my first shot was of nothing, plus scared the heck out of me because before calling the RE the training pen had in red inside where the meds should be "NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION" I panicked, the RE assured me it was saline, and I took two fllisitm shots yesterday at lunch then at night. As if this thing isn't stressful enough!!!!  I hope the snafu doesn't mess me up and we can still do k. PMA, right girls?

PMApsy - can you post pics of your cake? I would love to see it! Sounds awesome! Thanks for the offer on talking to your friend, DH and I are doing great I was just wondering if there was anyone on the same boat here since it could be a tricky situation to be in. It was very sweet of you to offer. You are a doll! You cracked me up with the shaving thing!

Lisa - sounds like we are on the same boat running after a 18mo old, what a fun age! How great your sister is coming to help you. I am an only child and I would love for our child to have a sibbling. As for the progesterone shots all good tips and I would add that you can ask your RE about lidocaine cream to numb up the area too. Unfortunately I am one of the lumpy butts even though I tried all of those

Bei - I know waiting is hard and I am sending you good thoughts so you can stimm soon!

purple - great tip on the saving meds, my RE said the same, they can squeeze more doses so don't discard the tubes. 2 toddlers and you are going for more - you are my hero! You are brave doing all the shots! DH does mine, I would just sit there staring at the shots forever if it was up to me!
Good luck on the US let us know!

Kiz - sorry again you had to go through this. Yeay for finishing the pill!!!!! First time can be a charm!

Much baby dust and good thoughts for your Thursday!

Rio,
LOL about the training pen! Well, now you know it really trains you for the real thing, you can't tell them apart! :D:D:D:D Oh boy, there is so much to think about, so much to remember, and through that you're supposed to keep your emotions in check, be productive in your life and care for your loved ones! AND be a good syringe barmaid several times a day! :) Ah, stimming... :D That's why I don't complain about FET cycles... they really are no trouble at all in comparison. Thanks for sharing sweetie! Personally, I'm a bit curious about what will happen after FET... I mean, I won't be allowed to lift my son, what will we do? I know I can carry him around in my arms, but... any thoughts on that? I really don't want to be obssessive about it, but I do want to do the right thing.

And about the cake, how very sweet of you to ask!!! Well, I posted a close-up here:

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/ ... romo-1.jpg

And a pic of Jérémie and me with the cake (his sweater was the inspiration) here:

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n25/ ... promo2.jpg

*mega blush* as I said it didn't turn out as good as I hoped, but I'll learn!!! Okay, take care! :)
