Hey sexy mamas! I just got back from my NT scan and all looked great. The doc can't give me a for sure answer of course for 2 weeks, but told me everything measured below average. With an NT scan, it's probably the only thing you want to be less than average with, he said. lol So I feel good the results will come back just fine. We were there for 2 hours. He went through a whole speal about making sure I knew what this test was, what it was for and possible outcomes. Then Baby A was quick and easy while Baby B was stubborn and floppy. lol Kept moving all over making it hard for doc to get the result. Finaly he calmed down and we got it. I have resorted to nicknaming them Thing 1 and Thing 2 just like in the Dr Seuss book. :) Doc didn't feel comfortable giving a gender. Though I paid very close attention and think Thing 2 is a boy and 1 might be a girl. We will see how accurate that guess is in 4 weeks! I have a follow up u/s 5/28. He did see that Thing 1's placenta seems to be low now and close to the cervix, so as of right now I have a previa. He isn't too worried and thinks that it may move. I hope it does! I really want the shot at a natural birth. Of course this is not good news for our "play time." Also, this means that I may bleed in the future. UGH! Hopefully it goes away and all will be good. Oh... Katie, he did the whole scan abdominally, no dildo cam!! :) I think your tech just wasn't a nice one!

OK, picture time! Now, I thought the u/s machine would be high tech but not really. Blah! I didn't get the best pictures, but still happy at what I saw. Anyway... here they are....

Thing 1

Thing 2

And both together, looks like blobs still, but bigger blobs lol You can get a good view of the placentas in this one too.

We also took a bunch of small clips, so once I upload the video I will give you all the link to go see it on youtube! :) I will catch up on personals in a bit!

Hi pretty mama's!. all the pics are great. There are some hot girls on this thread. I posted a nice long little note 2 days ago, and poof it was not there. Didn't have time to post again (work has been whipping my backside). I found out that I am immune to the Fifth's Disease, so that is great news! Welcome to all the new girls! M/s is still hanging on and on and on and on. Seem to be tired all the time and craving spicy food. I normally don't even like spicy food, go figure! My bump is much larger than some of you girls, probably all stretched out from my little pumpkin bug girls!

Steph,

Glad Thing 1 and 2 are good. I bet you are right, a boy and a girl! Hurray for no dildo cam!

lou,

glad to hear gm is doing better. It is so hard when things start to go wrong with our grannys.

katie,

I am sure your RE is going to release you......otherwise he is just going to have to deliver.

Ryan,

Glad your baby bean is hangin in there!. I will be praying for you.

Sorry for all I missed, flying post, gotta get back to work!

Ok, Andrew didn't take good video so you will have to excuse his camera work. It was also taken with my phone so they are only 30 second clips. He took a lot but these were the two best in my opinion.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r9Y2OBYxS6M

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IdyE3pw1a5Q

Ronda - Still with the m/s? Poor thing! At least you have an immunity to Fifths. That's awesome news!

Helene - Thank you. :) 2 weeks does make a big difference. They grow so much so fast. When I realized that in 4 weeks for my next u/s I will be 17 weeks I was like.. wow! By then I will likely be halfway there. Time has gone so slow the first trimester, but I believe it will go fast now.

Lou - I agree with Helene, you can't tell much with your kick ass figure from the front. lol So a side shot would be better. Remember, this is your first baby too... first time mom's don't show as fast as women who have had a baby before. If you are tall, then you are likely to show even less. I have seen tall supermodels pg and they are about to pop though they only look 6 months preggers! As far as PIO, nothing is in the works to be tested for my levels. I might ask doc to order labs though because I am worried.
BTW, love the panties. ;)

Katie - No scan? Not even for shits and giggles? Hmph! Oh well, three weeks isn't far. I have to wait 4 for mine. :) It is considered a follow up u/s so I am guessing I will still have another one for 20 weeks? I will have to check. Glad you didn't have to deal with a pap. I didn't get a hb today. Didn't even think about it until after he cleaned me up. My one friend who likes to predict genders based on hb's is going to be upset. lol I have now put on 3 pounds total. Not a lot considering I look like I am a heifer. lol Seriously, I look huge! I am a big fan of taco bell too, just had some after we left the appt. lol It was a craving while I was carrying DD as well. So, we both didn't get any answers on gender through our NT scans. BUGGER! We are both stuck waiting. :D

Ryan - Geesh, wish the bleeding would just stop! Keep taking it easy and we are all here for you waiting on Monday to hurry up and come!

Gi - lol Don't worry, you don't jinx me, I do! lol It hasn't come back, but after learning that I have a previa at the moment, I have to take it easy again or I might bleed.

Claudia - Happy Bratday!

Hi everyone -

Hmmm... its now 4:15 on a friday afternoon, I guess its safe to assume that I wont be hearing back from my RE til Monday? Now that my OB said the crinone is pointless, I kind of hate to waste it - but I guess I will.

Ryan - I know how hard bed rest can be, but hang in there the way your little bean is! Crossed for good news on Monday.

Babyluv - I was crampy from the ET all the way until about 12 weeks, both my RE & OB say the same - that its your body telling you to take it easy. I can imagine how hard that is with 2 kids under 5 running around to chase after all day! And dont forget to keep drinking loads of water too.

Libby - Welcome! Nice to see you again! I was exhausted up until 14 weeks- I've just started to feel normal this past week. Yes, pics plesase!
And now we have 3 Thanksgiving babies due! Guess they all like turkey? When is your 1st OB appt?

Gi - Enjoy your long weekend! You must begetting so excited to tell everyone soon!

Lou - You are in such good shape that you'll have to turn sideways so we can see the bump! Thats a good sign that your Grandmother is eager to go home
I do hope that you get some answers though. UGH, now back pain on top of everything else? Sorry to hear that. You have to go within a week of your 1st OB appt because its 2 totally different appts. If they were to try to schedule both appts for the same visit - you'd be there all day long. At your 1st OB, its just like a GYN appt - health history, b/w, BP, weight, lungs, pap smear, pelvic exam, and if you're really lucky a u/s. I think you might be since your OB has done IVF herself - she "gets" it. Your NT scan appt thats usually 45-60 minutes of just u/s. I'll stay crossed that you get it abdominally too! And of course that you get luckier that myself and actually get to see the screen!

Ronda - I missed you! Oh, its a happy day for immunity! But still m/s? I hope you're free soon! I'm always craving spicy food, but I was before also - now the only difference is that it kills me with heartburn!

Steph - Thing 1 & Thing 2? I LOVE DR Seuss!!!!! I mean llike love, love ,love! I was reading at the age of 3 and I thank the Dr Seuss and my Grandmother for that. Thank you for reminding me - I wanted to buy the series of books and almost did - but decided it would be bad luck since I was still cycling at the time. Whew! I'm so glad that were able to do your NT scan abdominally! Oh, of course 1of them was stubborn  Tee hee you knew that was coming, didnt you? At least they got all the measurements that they needed. You're lucky to be getting another u/s - I now have to wait until 18 weeks, but they better tell me the gender. At least my OB is sending me to a different imaging center for the Anatomy scan - so I dont need to worry about the tech that wouldnt let me see anything again. I hope that you dont start spotting again, I know the "no fun" part is starting to bug you. Wait? are you getting another scan before your Anatomy scan too? Anatomy scan is done between 18 -22 weeks, but you know I'm booking mine for 18w0days, right?

hugs & prayers to us all - xoxoxo

Katie - Yes I know you're booking your scan at 18 weeks, but my u/s in 4 weeks when I am 17 weeks is a follow up to the NT. So I assume I will get another one at 20 weeks for my anatomy scan? The way they explained it to me is I go in today (of course) and do todays scan, b/w and come back for my quad in 2 weeks then a follow up scan in 4 weeks. I believe the follow up is to check for other defects like spina bifida. It sounded like to me, once you agree to have these types of screenings, there is more to it then just checking for downs.

Steph- I love the pics & video, thanks for posting them! I'm sure with twins that you'll be monitored very closely. I'm sorry but I forget, are you with a high risk OB? or a reg OB? I dont know if having twins automatically labels you high risk especially since you are both young and healthy. You lucky girl, so you will get 2 scans in a few weeks! Yes, they are testing not just for Down's (which is Trisomy 21) but also for Trisomy 13 & Trisomy 18, spinal defects
heart, brain, and internal organ dysmorphias. But we will all test normal, I'm sure. You know what I've been wondering lately? I want to look into cord blood banking - my thinking is that with donor embies, God forbid there is a problem later - we'll have no siblings, or ourselves with matching DNA. Thats a scary thought. I wonder how much that costs? I hope that you are feeling good with 2 in there. Do you find yourself getting up slower yet? I feel that I have to keep reminding myself to move and get up slower since I get a sharp twinge when I forget. its just that I'm used to moving pretty quickly. Ahhh, so many things to get used to ....

Everyone - That show is on tomorrow morning & every Sat thereafter Its on at 8:30 AM ET on the WE network - the fertility chase, I 've been waiting to see this darn show since I first heard of its taping last summer.

Lou – I am so happy that your grandmother is feeling better and she wants to go home. That is always a very good sign! I know what you mean about being tired. I had a dinner program w/ my doctors’ last night I was about to fall asleep by 8pm and they were just getting started … lol! Europe sounds great … don’t worry about the extra office visits because that is more time for you to continue to get reassurance!

It might help to use a measuring tape each week so you can see your growth.

Oh, I haven’t done the Chinese birth gender test yet. But, I am doing it now! Ok, I just did it and it said I am having a girl.

Claudia – happy birthday!!!

Franca – I hope you are doing well. I love the picture of you and your DH. I will try to post my one day.

Gi – It sounds like you are going to have a great weekend … have fun!

DrBoots – I am so excited to see you back and you are doing ok! I was so very worried. Please keep resting and I am sure it will all work out for you!!!

Helene – that is exciting that you are baptizing your son this weekend! Please let us know how it goes!

Katie – I am glad your OB appointment went well. You will be having your anatomy scan in 3 weeks … how exciting!!!!! I will try to catch “The Fertility Chase” tomorrow. I would like to see it.

Stephanie – I am glad your NT scan went well and I love the u/s pictures. Please keep us updated about the placenta previa … I am sure you will be fine. But, that sure explains the spotting.

Libby – I hope you are doing well!

Ronda – I am glad to hear that you are immune to Fifth’s disease and that you are feeling fine!

AFM – I have had too very long days of work and I am so very tired. I am so glad that it is the weekend so I can finally get some sleep. I am so very nervous but excited for Monday to come so we can see our little baby on Monday. God, please let us see a HB on Monday!

Katie - When I went to the new office I told them I had a SCH and twins so I requested high risk and I believe that is what she gave me. :) Twins do label a woman high risk, but I was high risk anyway because of the SCH and now again if the previa doesn't go away. Gee don't I have the luck! lol  Cord blood banking is a great idea for you! I have no idea how much it is though. It shouldn't be much I assume. At the hospital I go to, they don't charge for cryo but not sure if they store cord blood as well or if that has to go through CBR or another place like that? I have actually been thinking about it to, so if you happen to come across some info before I do, let me know. :) As far as how I feel, I feel ok for now. lol I do get up and move a little slower. Those ligament pains don't feel too pretty so I have to be careful. I am still tired a lot and now I have been getting headaches almost everyday. I read that headaches can just be one of those things that go along with pregnancy, but then also read it can be a bad sign that is associated with hypertension and preeclampsia so I suppose I should call the doc on Monday. I always forget to call until it's too late, since the headaches normally come in the evenings. Oh well, I will set an alarm I suppose. :)

Angela - The previa hasn't bled yet, it would likely be red if it did and could be life threatening to me and the baby, in this case Thing 1. My Spotting was from a subchorionic hemorrhage. So seems I am just not having any luck as far as potential bleeding goes. As soon as the SCH healed I find out I have a previa. :( I just hope the previa moves. It wasn't a previa at 11w4d so I can hope it moves again... away from my cervix! :)

Stephanie – I think the good thing is that it has been diagnosed! I know it can be frustrating sometimes!

I am glad that you are not bleeding from your previa but you can still spot here and there w/ the placenta previa as my sister did throughout her pregnancy w/ my nephew but it was more toward her second trimester. If I remember correctly from nursing school, the placenta doesn’t actually move it will just grow and hopefully in the right direction so it is not blocking the cervix as much as before it was first diagnosed. It also depends if it is marginal, partial, or complete form of previa. But, be prepared most of the women who I have worked w/ in OB had to have a C-section because of placenta previa as I think you also mentioned also. But, that doesn’t mean you will; we will think only positive thoughts, right?

I think ktelise mentioned earlier that she was just diagnosed w/ placenta previa also and found out that is where her spotting is comming from ... I just want to wish both of you the best and we hope your placentas grow and pull the other way.

Hi girls. I am still waiting to miscarry. This has been one of the worse 2 weeks of my life. Everything that could go wrong has.

I went for another beta on Tuesday ...just in case of a lab error. No such luck. Beta was down to 453. It was 515 on Monday and then today it is down to 360. It is coming down very slowly. I also had an ultrasound on Tuesday...and they are guessing that my baby died last Thursday or Friday. Problem is they couldnt find my baby on ultrasound and havent ruled out an ectopic pregnancy yet. The baby was just sooo small/early and by the time an ultrasound happened...it wasnt really big enough to show up anymore. Apparantly it shrinks as time goes on?

Anyhow...I have still had no bleeding at all. Not one drop. We are flying out Sunday morning for vacation...with the luck that I am having...it will likely happen as we are boarding. The docs arent too happy that I am still going...but honestly, we need this trip right now. They had me look up where the nearest hospital is to the hotel....just in case it is ectopic. I am just sooo frustrated at this point...that I am still walking around just waiting for "it" to happen. Has anyone else had to deal with waiting like this? The doc said he would give me some meds to basically induce labor if it hasnt happened when we get back next week. Why am I not surprised that I am not miscarrying. It is much like the process of labor from what I understand...and I spent 4 days being induced with Zach without any luck. Isnt this kinda like the same thing? Water breaking and cervix opening? It feels like my body just doesnt know what to do.

To make matters worse ...Zach learned how to unlock and open my laptop while I was in the shower the other day. He ripped off every key on my keyboard. Yeah, no kidding. I could read the posts, but couldnt type. In order to buy a new keyboard...we needed the part number off the back of the old one...and in the process the old one broke completely off of the motherboard....destroying my whole computer. I went out and bought a new computer today. I have a fridge lock on this computer now...he better not learn how to unlock it.

Oh and I have a question. Last night I had "severe" cramping, low back pain, chills, and fever for a good hour. I thought it was happening...but i fell asleep with a heating pad...and nada. I've been fine all day today...except some off and on again "minor" low back pain, fever, and cramping....which I've had all week. The IVF doc doesnt think it is related to the upcoming miscarriage. He thinks it is something left over from having strep and maybe a kidney infection now....and told me to call my family doc. I have been on penicillin for 10 days now for the strep and family doc doesnt think it is anything to worry about and did not have me go into his office for more antibiotics either. I'm guessing it is not a kidney infection since the penicillin I was on would've taken care of it...had it been the case. My fever has been lingering around 100.4 for over a week now (right now it is 101.3)...everytime I have checked it. I never as a rule even get a fever...it is never over 99...even with the flu. I dont feel sick..other than the back pain/cramps. Any thoughts? I think it is all related to the miscarriage personally. I hate to ask these questions to you girls...especially since it is such a sensitive subject, but I dont know what to think here. Is this normal?

This was our last chance. We have no more frozen embryos and we originally agreed to not go back again since my embryos will be from age 42 not 39 now...though this is now up for reconsideration at this point. If we do try again ...it wont be till July at the earliest...so we have alot to think about now.

Anyhow, I just wanted to say thanks for all of your kind words, thoughts, prayers and private messages. We are doing okay, and I am still around rooting you all on. Thanks again.

Claudia...Happy Belated Birthday!

Lou..I am praying for your Grandma...I was raised by mine... so I completely understand your feelings.

Stephanie...glad they figured out what is going on and are watching you close for the placenta previa. Everything will be okay.

Helene...Thanks for holding out hope for me. Have a great baptism and everything this weekend.

Ronda...you had me scared...Thank God for immunity.

Dr Boots...keep the faith and rest. I am praying for you.

Katie...gonna watch the show in a few hours...who is your friend...so I can watch for her. Also, on your pregnancy list...do you have one of those "titles" for "thinking of you" or "angel babies" whatever for those of us (and I pray that I am the only one) who ends up not on the pregnancy list anymore? We did this a couple of years ago with my other cycle group and I think it will help me and others to feel like we are still part of the group...maybe a little bit anyways. I dunno.

Angela...good luck on Monday...it will be a fun and exciting day.

Sorry about the lack of personals...it's the middle of the night...and I am ready to try and sleep again now.

arabsrcool - so glad you are immune for the Fifth... wow that must have been a scare .

steph - you know you can ask the RE to give you a TAPE of you u/s. I did that before and it's so clear. It's true it goes fast after :) Nice.

oh katie - your RE is a pain in the but :) sorry you have to wait so long.

You know I am also thinking of cord blood banking. I read about it you have to make payment montly not sure how much but it's got to be $50 or more. Did you do donor Embies? I want to do that for my baby cause like you say I have no way to helping in case this lo is in danger... I wanted to do with with my last cause he has T21 so none of my others have that but I didn't get around to it?? Too bad.

Angela - yes I was able to get the baptism the same day as the communion. So my dh is pissed and my mom is stressed and my sister is not coming but she doesn't care anyways. But once it's going to be done we can concentrate on the move. See the outfit I got for the baptism will not fit my baby very long and the priest I want doesn't do baptism because he is an on call priest... but he told me he was going to be at my church that day for mass and he could do my baptism with a very special blessing and healing for my son with T21... so this is majorly important. Noone knows what we are doing but they would not care anyways. My mom will be happy to hear that though. So it's like my FET everything fell into place and it worked... God when He wants something HE makes it happen it's amazing. With no effort.

Plus I needed to find something to wear. Me with my big Fat belly I can barely not wear anything else then sweatshirt... I can't wear dresses or anything I have to hide my belly so I left last night thinking it's going to be another 6hrs shopping with nothing... so I decided to ask St-Antony to help me find cause my dh is getting really pissed I have to leave for stuff. So I though I will try the small mall and see if I can't find something and guess what... Magically I found something within one hour only. And it's so nice ... very very expensive but it fits me like a charm.... I can't wait to show you girls pictures. I will also do pictures of me and dh alone cause after that my belly is goign to be too big... so anxious now :)

Tammy - I can't believe you are cheering everyone. I am so sorry. I will keep praying for you and please keep us posted ok. Your little guy will have his sibling one day I know it :) hand in there girl. Hugs. And I am so sorry again that you have to go through this.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Helene
