Helene- WOW, I thought I was busy!!! Good luck this weekend, I hope you get a few moments of peace!

Lou- odd that they keep changing your appt. Is it a busy office? Either way, I hope it doesn’t affect your vacation.

Katie- I like your OB, from what you mentioned. Good Luck at the scan in 3 weeks! I looked up that show, looks like it has been moved to May 15, looks unbelievably good.

Stephanie- what great pics!!!!! Can’t wait to see if your guesses are right. Before we knew we only had the one bean, I would daydream about twins, 1 boy and 1 girl! OMG, the video is SO cute!!!! I love it! 
Most likely your previa will grow “up” the further along you get.

Ronda- Hope work calms down for you and your m/s goes away soon!

Angela- I hope that you and I both get to see heartbeats on Monday (((pray)))
I also hope you get some rest this weekend.

Tammy- if your RE is sure that the pain and fever is not from your uterus, I would go see your GP. If you are sick, better to take care of it before you go on vacation. I hope you feel better soon.
I can relate to your waiting, even though I have read amazing stories about late hb’s, I feel like I have been horizontal for a week for nothing. But it is what it is. I hope you feel better soon.

AFM- Still bleeding, 6 days now, but I have heard of worse, so I am still hanging on. I found this amazing website called Misdiagnosed Miscarriages and read some truly inspiring stories, made me cry and made me feel better all at the same time. It’s going to be 87 today, so my plan is to peel myself from the couch and TV and go outside on the lounge chair and read my book. I hope everyone has a GREAT weekend.

Tammy – I can’t tell you how sorry I am to hear you are still just waiting to miscarry.

In regards to your back pain, it depends where the pain is located. Is your pain located in your upper right or left area, right below your scapula (shoulder blades)? If so, that could be your kidneys but if it is lower back then that is you trying to miscarry. As far as the fever it could be the side effects from the Penicillin, left over from your strep, or your body’s way of protecting itself because your baby is releasing toxins. I think you need to go ahead and take the medications to help you miscarry. I wonder if they will give you Methotrexate. I wouldn’t think it would be anything stronger but you never know. I know they say most of the time your body will miscarry on it’s on but sometimes you need some assistance.

When lost Ashley at 21 weeks, I was further along than you but they told me the same thing that I would start to miscarry on my own but after a week I didn’t. So I was admitted to the OB delivery unit and given Pitocin and Cytotec to induce labor. It took 12 hours of labor and then I delivered her. But, remember this was because I was so far along. The medication they give you shouldn’t be that involved. I do know that you shouldn’t wait too long as your baby is releasing toxins, which can make you sick if your immune system doesn’t fight the toxins off. So as soon as you get back, please get some assistance from your doctor to move things along.

Once again, I am so very sorry. We are here if you ever want to just chat, ok?

BTW, I think Zach is just so very cute! It sounds like he is at that age where he is into everything which I am sure keeps you very busy!

Katie - I got up at 8 this morning to watch the show, but didn't think of the time difference and just missed it. I selected the WE channel anyway and guess what.... my stupid cable company doesn't have it working! I couldn't have watched it even if I wanted to. I hate Time Warner!

Ryan - Thank you! :) I wish the doc wouldn't have moved around so quickly. He was upsetting Andrew because he told him he wanted to video and asked if he could be generous and get good shots of both babies. He didn't and other than taking the measurements for the nuchal, he was whipping it all over for the most part. I have a ton of short clips on my phone as a result. lol
As far as the bleed, I did some Googling after I found out I had the SCH and some stories scared the crap out of me, but I decided to focus on this site rather than all over since people hear are more like me. So I searched previous threads on the SCH and found ALL of the stories I read were positive! Most were twins too! That gave me a new confidence though I was still scared underneath. I bawled my eyes out when I finally got to see the heartbeat, but that's when I got to see two! So there is hope! You know, after two scans, they didn't know it was twins until the third one when I was 7 weeks! You never know what is in there till they get to grow and you get to see them clearly with a good scan! I have all the hope in the world for you!

Helene - Yes I know... well just found out yesterday at the end of the scan. :) He told us what kind of dvd to bring for the 17 week scan so that is exactly what we will do! That will be exciting! Get to copy and send to family to see too! 4 weeks, can't wait!!

Tammy - Oh my... I couldn't imagine what you have to go through. Unfortunately I can't answer your question about the miscarriage. I really wished it was a lab error or something that would make you still preggers and having a healthy baby. It's so sad to hear that you likely won't be trying again too. Have you thought about donor embies? Maybe donor eggs?

Angela - Thank you for some more info. I read it is a risk of having an anterior placenta if you are carrying more than one. When I say I hope it moves, I mean I hope it moved up with my growing uterus. :) I remember ktelise wanting me to find out if I had a previa, I think she jinxed me. LMAO Just kidding ktelise! ;) Seriously though... I know the SCH was the cause of the previous bleeding, RE diagnosed it when the stupid Army docs couldn't. If not for the RE, I would never have known what the bleeding was from. Army docs would have told me I was miscarrying a 3rd baby, heck... they told me at first I was miscarrying a 2nd baby since they could only see one on their scan. Anyway, enough about those idiots. :) One thing I do worry about with this is that the baby isn't getting enough nutrients or won't if the previa doesn't move. Did your sister deliver early because of her previa? I understand most do and are put on bed rest or at least rest. Man... I hope things will go smoother, I don't need anymore scares!

Angela...the pain is a dull very low back pain. I have degenerative disk and had surgery 6 weeks before getting pregnant with Zach..but didnt have any back troubles being pregnant, as strange as that sounds. It feels like AF low back pain....same for the stomach cramping...and only a few times both have been bad this week. I am also very full of fibroids. I had one that caused alot of low back pain, a few years ago, that was blocking my uterus opening and and was cut out in the beginning of fertility treatments.

I wonder if because I have been on antibiotics so much during my lifetime...that the strep is just hanging on. I feel like I am getting a sinus infection (but maybe it isnt an infection and just sinuses) and have some pain around my ear (sinuses), too. The fever is not going away...been checking it constantly since last night. I am lingering between 100.4 and 101.9 ...sometimes even with tylenol.

I think I should get another round of antibiotics...but hate to go to urgent care. Ugh. DH has about 4 doses left of antibiotic that he has been bad about taking...I am tempted just to take his and see if it is enough to kick the butt out this. What do you think? Some sort of normal infection? Or is it toxins from my baby? Would a UTI give you fevers? I have been known to have UTI's in early pregnancy with no symptoms. Thanks for your thoughts.

Stephanie – I am so sorry to hear about the stress the army doctors put upon you and your DH. But, I am glad that you sought a second opinion to really find out what was going on.

I truly think your baby will be fine and receive enough nutrients especially since you haven’t had any spotting or any other symptoms of the previa. My sister had symptoms throughout her pregnancy; and yes she delivered at 34 weeks. Actually, she went into labor at 33 weeks and I was standing there when her water broke so I rushed her to the hospital and the idiot physician said she was leaking urine and not amniotic fluid. They did swab her but the leaking of the amniotic fluid can be intermittent and not continuous, so despite my insistence, they sent her home. I kept insisting she be evaluated by her OB in the office because an infection could set up if her cervix was open and she was leaking amniotic fluid. So she went to their office that Monday and she was already dilated 3cms! I was furious because she should have been on bed rest and probably an antibiotic since the weekend because he was too early. So they tried to put off the delivery for a week but he only lasted 4 days. I finally went back to work on the third day because when I left she was stable. I got a call on the ICU unit where I worked as a nurse, that I needed to get down to the maternity unit immediately because she was requesting me and the anesthesiologist needed help from me to calm her. They ended up having to do an emergency C-section because my nephew was so low and close to the cervix and he wasn’t tolerating the contractions well at all. Every time she had a contraction, his heart rate would decelerate.

The positive thing is that he survived and is a wonderful, smart little 9 year old now.

Please don’t stress … I am just very, very happy it was discovered and can be monitored closely. Like you said before, it can grow and pull the other way. It is still very early!! Why oh why can’t we just have uneventful pregnancies?? Lol … I always joke that my life is just like a soap opera!

Tammy - Yes, a UTI can produce a fever. But, from where you are describing where the pain is located that it sounds like more uterine. I do think another round of antibiotics might not be a bad idea. But …

One way to find out if it is another sinus infection is to go and get some over the counter sinus/cold medicines that treats the same symptoms that you are having and see if you get any relief. At least, that will help relieve one stressor for you. The non-drowsy forms seem to be not as affective because they don’t cross the blood brain barrier but the drowsy kind might just do the trick. And, it sounds like you could use some sleep also. You have to be mentally exhausted!!!

Hi everyone -

Jeez - you all have had some busy typing fingers alright! So its 87 degrees today which is hard to believe since I had the heat on 2 nights ago.
I'm not a fan of hot weather, but my DH & I spent the morning trying to rip out all the damaged grass ( Thanks to the dogs!) and till it so we can put in grass seed, which so far the birds are enjoying eating - sigh. So I was a little disappointed with the Fertility Chase, I was expecting more of a documentary, maybe next week will be better?

Tammy - Oh, honey I hate what you're going through. It just isnt fair that some of us have to work so hard to get pg and its so easy for others. I wish that I had the right words to make it hurt less, but I dont think thats possible. You have to take the time to grieve and then hopefully try once more. I was on my last try (the Hail Mary cycle) and they retreived nothing, not even one was usable, but i was offered the gift of donor embies by my RE while I was still trying to come out of the anesthesia, so I know I answered with my heart. I know its hard to give up the link of a biological baby but perhaps it would be an option for you? I was tols that a DE cycle was 30k, versus donor embies costs of under 6k. I just hate to see someone give up because treatment is so darned expensive. I hope that you get to regroup on your vacation - but I bet Zach will keep you hopping. All the keys on your keyboard? Oh boy! There were 2 girls from my old cycle group that will be on the show, Amy who I had the same ET and beta, but not the same results sigh, and Kala whose DH is paralyzed from a car accident and he competes in the para-olympics both are the sweetest girls ever. Of course I'll find you an angel, I just didnt know how to adjust the list to not offend you. thoughts and prayers are with you & your family - xoxo

Steph - I'm sorry that you missed the show, but it wasnt as technical as I was hoping, my first thought was " I've waited a year to see that?" But you can go to their website - the fertility chase.com and click on "screening room" if you want, it showed so mant clips that its probably the entire half hour long show! Just in pieces. Whew! for having a HR OB that saw the previa so quickly! It sounds like you'll be in good hands there. Was your BP high yesterday? I thought that being pregnant lowered your BP? Mine before pg was always high, like borderline on being on meds 140/90 but yesterday it was the lowest reading I ever gotten 120/70 and when I said i was so happy with that reading the OB said its due to the pregnancy.

Angela - I know this weekend cant pass quickly enough for you! So exciting to see the HB for the first time! :D

Ryan - how are you holding up on bed rest? I know for me its really hard to keep still. The first few days after ET, my DH always ends up getting mad at how often i was up  . Sticky thoughts & prayers for you on Monday

Helene - Wow you sure do have a busy weekend! I'm going to look into cord blood banking, when I find out some prices I'll let you all know. I hate to think of "wg=hat if we need it later"? I mean it could possibly make the difference of being able to help our children or not - So far thats the only difference I see with donor embies.

Lou - How are you holding up? Any news on your Grandmother's discharge date and test results?

Claudia - How was the big 3-0 ? Hope you had a ball!

hugs & prayers to us all - -xoxo

Katie - Interesting you say your BP went down when it was high. Mine was the same way. Not sure if you remember me saying I had high BP and was worried about that during my pg. It was always high to the point they were going to diagnose me soon, but my first ob appt it was 112/76. That's the lowest it has ever bean unless I was lying down resting. The highest was 156/104, but that was when I thought I was having a miscarriage. I think my highest not including that was 148/98... it was usually 130's over 90's and they didn't like that. I am going to keep track each visit. :) I am glad it is down, but I still worry expecially lately since I get headaches every day. I have to call my OB Monday and ask about that. I am scared to take too much Tylenol, not like it helps much anyway. I just try and nap or sleep it off, depending on the time of day. Andrew went out and bought plywood sheets and cut them up and nailed them to the fence all the way around so that little Rizzo won't be excaping under the fence anymore. :) So seems we both had stuff to do outside today, though I didn't participate. lol Still both outside projects that needed done thanks to our dogs. About the show, I called TW and complained about their crappy service and they rebooted my box, sent signals and fixed it. My OnDemand wasn't working either. When I told him that he said... Well I have to look at the account then. I told him my balance is ZERO and it's the crappy service not to mention the OnDemand that I was trying to watch was a FREE show! He said I was right and fixed it. lol So next week I will get to see the show... I am surprised it is only 30 minutes though. :?

Re: Winter Cycle Friends 2009/2010 - Everyone Welcome!

Post by angelaezra »

Hello Ladies – I hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday. It is raining so very hard here. We have a flood watch in several areas. I think we are supposed to get up to 3” of rain just today. Oh well, I am inside nice and dry!

AFM – I have a very difficult decision to make. My nephew and I are so very close … sometimes I pick him up from school or daycare and we just spend the day together. I have always been there for him since the night he was born (he is 9 years old now). But, he has seen my DH and I lose so many kids over the 10 years that we have been married, so I decided not to tell him that I was pregnant this time. Well, at least until I started showing and had no choice because he really took it hard when we lost Ashley last year. He came to the hospital and he thought I was going to die. He kept asking are you sure you are ok and of course I tried to comfort him as much as I could but he knew I was very upset. So now he thinks something is really wrong w/ me because I haven’t spent that much time w/ him or my family for that matter since I started this cycle because I am always exhausted. I try to go and visit my family and in about an hour or two I have to go home to take a nap. I talked w/ my husband about it yesterday and he thinks I should tell him but I want to wait until I at least see a HB tomorrow. What do you ladies think; should I just come clean and tell him today? Oh, he is insisting that his mother brings him over here so he can see for himself that I am really ok?

Thanks ladies for letting me bend an ear … I just love having you ladies around!

angela Thats a hard one, have you spoken to his parents about his feelings? How do they want to handle it. I know you close with you nephew but put with ball in his parents court. They should understand the stress you are under and that you are tired, let them handle his emotions and don't worry about him, keep your happy thoughts for your own growing baby!
