Natasha,

I am so sorry...Please keep your spirits high and your faith strong...It does work! Remember you are doing all you possibly can physically, emotionally and financially...Everything else needs to be left up to God. He is the only one that can make it happen. Try to hand it over...I know it is hard but you have to have peace with yourself and your decision if you go forward with this cycle.

I am praying for you and all those who are suffering...

Tammy – I am so happy that you are doing better and no fever. I have to say that I love your positive attitude. I will pray for you for your next cycle. Please keep us updated on you, DH, and Zach.

Debbie – Can you please remind me when your transfer was and when your beta is scheduled? Also, if you did a 3 day or a 5 day transfer … it has been awhile since you told us and I can’t remember what I did yesterday … lol. My plate is so very full right now!!!

Lauren – I am so glad that you and your DH decided to cycle again in July. I think acupuncture and massages are a wonderful idea. I didn’t do the acupuncture but I have done the massage twice now before a transfer but I have heard amazing things about acupuncture.

Lauren1171 – how are you doing today? Do you have any more beta’s scheduled this week?

Helene - I am sorry that your move date is now moved up because that is more stress on you. But, you seem like such a strong woman that I know you will make it happen. I am also sorry to hear about your job … what exactly do you do again? I know you said sometimes your work ends, so I am just curious.

Neffi – I am so glad that you decided to continue your meds. Good luck w/ your beta on Thursday! Please let us know when you find out.

Amanda – I am so sorry to hear about your BFN. I am glad that your DH is able to be w/ you now. I think that you guys need each other right now and then you can regroup. I am also happy to hear you will try again in July.

Emmax – I am glad that you are still doing well. And, I know your baby will be just fine. This is a very scary process to go through but we can be there for each other.

AFM – I had another long day today at work and I am so glad to be home. I still feel pretty good so I am happy. I called my high risk OB today to schedule an appointment and we keep playing phone tag so hopefully we can schedule our first appointment for early June. I am terrified to think that I will be leaving my RE because I feel so comfortable w/ them. It is just like the last time, I didn’t want to leave then either but I guess I have to … lol.

Lauren – Your RE will have someone that they normal recommend that you go to for acupunctures. I know that they teach you relaxation techniques and they work hard to increase the blood flow to your uterus to help with implantation. I also hear that it can help w/ egg quality and they give you recommendations for diet, etc. I also know that most insurance companies don’t cover it but I hear it is about $90 or $100 per session. I also heard that most women start it a few months prior to their cycle. My manager lost her baby at 21 weeks just like I did and then she could not get pregnant afterwards so she did acupuncture and was able to conceive.

I just did a general massage at a day spa before my cycles but if you look on line there are massage therapists that are trained to help w/ pre-pregnancy, during pregnancy, and post-pregnancy. My local place is called “Becoming a Mom Spa”. On their web site it states that their “preconception massage” is associated with a 63% higher than the national average success rate for IVF. I am sure if you google it, you will find a location in your area.

My transfer was April 27th, and beta is May 11th. It was 3 good looking 8 cell embryo's on day 3.

I was out with my mom today and caved and bought a 2 pack of HPT"s.. I thought about tomo a.m., that would be like 8dpt. Is this too early still ya think? Oh the agony of this! LOL!

I don't really have sore boobs, just alittle. The only thing now is slight cramping every now and then, and lower back cramping on the left side..wierd , anyone have any of that on one side vs. another? Of course I know that the progesterone can play a role in this also, so I have to keep that open.

sorry for the BFN's.. that is so hard, but keep praying and moving forward. God does have a plan for you all! :)

Debbie – I think that is a good idea to test tomorrow. As you stated, 8dpt3dt is when HCG should begin to be secreted. Please remember, that day 8 is when you just begin to secrete HCG so it might take a few days before you get a positive HPT. Your symptoms sound like a good sign! Please let us know your results.

By the way, did you inject a trigger shot of HCG before your transfer? They say it can take 10 to 14 days to be eliminated from the system.

Hi Amanda,
I am sorry for your BFN. I never made it to beta because AF came right on time, four days before beta. I was devastated and cried for hours with my DH. I took the next day off from work because I was an emotional reck. It is harder than we imagined because we want that baby. After a few days, I felt better but it still crosses my mind. I went to my RE for day 3 testing. My RE wants me to have AF again before starting again. I go back the last weeking May or first week in June. My case is currently being reviewed. It is frustrating because you wonder what went "wrong" or what could be done differently in the next cycle. I am in awe of the women on here. I just had my first IVF but there are couples who persavere through several cycles, chemical pregnancies, and miscarriages and they are still faithful and supportive of others. I had four embryos transferred that were of great quality and I responded well to meds for stims. My RE is limited to taking eggs from one ovary. I am trusting in God to touch the hands and minds of those individuals working with me during this process. There is success in IVF. There are plenty of ladies in this group who have BFP. I can over analyze but it will not help. My grandma was in ICU and I had to fly to see her three days after ET. Could that have affected me? Sure, but I needed to see my grandma and don't regret going. I have decided to reduce activities in my life and be more relaxed. I get massages but never had acupuncture and may try it. It is great to have the support of your DH and family and friends. My friends are encouraging and are often at a loss for words if they have a DD or DS in their lives. I have to be patient and faithful and that is not always easy but I can do it. I will probably be in a June/July Cycle Group.

This board is very supportive and I have been reading but not responding because sometimes the pain of seeing AF returns but when I saw your post, I wanted you to know that you are not alone and we all need an avenue to vent. There is no better place than here because everyone understands and know the IVF process. I will pray for comfort for you and your family.

Tameka - After I read your post, I felt like I had to respond to you and everyone else out there. I know how you feel about your negative but I promise you there are brighter days ahead of you. I thought when I lost my daughter that I would just die. I felt like I couldn’t go on … I was in the worst depression I have ever been in and my DH thought he lost me forever. I am telling this to you and everyone who got a negative on this site that you have to talk about your feelings and not bottle them up because it will only drive you into a deeper depression. Again, I am so sorry for everyone who got a BFN but please don’t give up on your dreams.

Ok I should have taken notes because I can't scroll back on my iPod!

Amanda - I am so sorry about your BFN!
Natasha - it does work, but for some of us it doesn't work the first time (and sometimes not the 2nd or 3rd), but have faith and don't give up. I did my transfer on 4/16 and figured it wasn't going to work anyway so I did it knowing I was going on vaca 5/6. I wanted to get the FET out of the way so I could do a fresh cycle as soon as I got back. Well it did work! So far so good! Maybe this time will be your time also!

Angela - Beta is tomorrow again. This one will only be 48 hours from the last one. Usually they wait 3 days, but since my f/u is tomorrow and I am leaving Thursday I wanted to get it done tomorrow.

Debbie - I would definitely start testing at day 8. But don't get down if negative. I did not see a faint line til day 9.

So my mother just called and asked if I find out tomorrow. I have not told her about BFP because I don't want to get her hopes up if it's a miscarriage ir blighted ovum or whatever. I just tried to explain the whole beta number and how mine was low but has been doubling. She said, "oh so you'll find out tomorrow?" I tried to explain that technically I am pregnant and if I were someone who dud not do ivf and poas I would now consider myself pregnant and just be waiting for u/s. Totally over her head and she now figures that since I have not got my period it's a good sign....sigh! And this reminds me why I am not telling my mother in law anything anytime soon. Oh and my mom said my boobs look bigger so that's a good sign too!

Yes, she did lose one of the twins late in pregnancy (28 weeks, I think)...but just the fact that it was sooo low and rising sooo slowly and ended up being twins...was incredible...and just goes to prove that low and slow doesnt always mean anything. Her twins had twin to twin transfusion or something like that and had surgery at 20 weeks. She later went on to have a miracle natural pregnancy (with major complications) and now has 2 beautiful little girls. I'm glad to hear that you are holding off. I am praying hard for you!

Hugs to all.

Debbie - Well, I think you can still test tomorrow because you will know if it is a true pregnancy or your trigger because each day the second line should get darker w/ a true pregnancy. Also, day 12 is pretty far out, if you still have a trigger in your system, it might not even show up on a pregnancy test.
